THROUGH THE BIBLE—- DEUTERONOMY #11 - CHAP. 24

 Deuteronomy 24

Law Concerning Divorce

24 “When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some [a]uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, when she has departed from his house, and goes and becomes another man’s wife, if the latter husband detests her and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her as his wife, then her former husband who divorced her must not take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled; for that is [b]an abomination before the Lord, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

[PRETTY STRAIGHT-FORWARD. NO BACK AND FORTH IN MARRIAGES. GOD LABELS IT AS SIN.  THIS LAW OF "EASY DIVORCE" WAS CONTESTED BETWEEN TWO OF THE BIGGEST JEWISH SECTS AT THE TIME OF CHRIST.  JESUS SAID SOMEWHAT EASY DIVORCE WAS ALLOWED BECAUSE OF THE HARDNESS OF THE HUMAN HEART (MATT. 19]; JESUS RESTORED THIS LAW TO ITS FIRST IDEAL—- DIVORCE SHOULD NOT BE EASY TODAY, BUT THERE ARE SOME SITUATIONS WHEN DIVORCE CAN BE APPLIED.  IT IS A LARGE SUBJECT AND I HAVE WRITTEN ALL ABOUT IT.  I WILL UPLOAD IT WHEN WE GET INTO THE NEW TESTAMENT  - Keith Hunt]

Miscellaneous Laws

“When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.

“No man shall take the lower or the upper millstone in pledge, for he takes [c]one’s living in pledge.

[VERSE 5 EASY TO UNDERSTAND. VERSE 6 WOULD BE LIKE TAKING A FARMERS TRACTOR - Keith Hunt]

“If a man is found [d]kidnapping any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and mistreats him or sells him, then that kidnapper shall die; and you shall put away the evil from among you.

[DEATH PENALTY FOR KIDNAPPING - Keith Hunt]

“Take heed in an outbreak of leprosy, that you carefully observe and do according to all that the priests, the Levites, shall teach you; just as I commanded them, so you shall be careful to do. Remember what the Lord your God did to Miriam on the way when you came out of Egypt!

[THE LAW IS BASIC ISOLATION. I WAS A KID IN THE 1940 AND ISOLATION WAS USED WITH THE TB EPIDEMIC IN BRITAIN - Keith Hunt]

10 “When you lend your brother anything, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge. 11 You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you lend shall bring the pledge out to you. 12 And if the man is poor, you shall not [e]keep his pledge overnight. 13 You shall in any case return the pledge to him again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own garment and bless you; and it shall be righteousness to you before the Lord your God.

[THIS WAS GIVING SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO HIM WHO WAS LENDING TO YOU, TO INSURE YOU WOULD PAY HIM BACK. THEN A PLEDGE COULD HAVE BEEN YOUR SLEEPING PAD, OR SLEEPING CLOTHES. SUCH HAD TO BE RETURNED TO THE ONE WHOM YOU WERE LENDING SOMETHING FROM TO HELP YOU OUT- Keith Hunt]

14 “You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether one of your brethren or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates. 15 Each day you shall give him his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he is poor and has set his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to the Lord, and it be sin to you.

[JESUS SAID, "THE POOR YOU SHALL ALWAYS HAVE WITH YOU"—- SO ISRAEL WAS TO FOLLOW THIS LAW; YOU ARE TO MAKE SURE THE HIRED SERVANT GETS HIS DUE WAGE - Keith Hunt]

16 “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin.

[AGAIN EASY TO UNDERSTAND - Keith Hunt]

17 “You shall not pervert justice due the stranger or the fatherless, nor take a widow’s garment as a pledge. 18 But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing.

[JUSTICE SHOULD BE APPLIED EVENLY TO ALL, THE STRANGER AND FATHERLESS NAMED OF THE MANY. YOU WERE NOT TO TAKE A WIDOW'S GARMENT AS A PLADGE, THAT SHE WOULD PAY YOU BACK FOR HELPING HER ; TAKE SOMETHING ELSE AS A PLEDGE - Keith Hunt]

19 “When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. 20 When you beat your olive trees, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow. 21 When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow. 22 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I command you to do this thing.

[PRETTY EASY TO UNDERSTAND—- YOU ARE NOT TO GLEAN YOUR HARVESTS DOWN TO THE LAST GRAIN OF BARLEY OR WHEAT OR FIG ETC. ANOTHER VERSE SAYS YOU ARE TO LEAVE OFF HARVESTING THE CORNERS OF YOUR FIELD, SO THE POOR AND NEEDY COULD HAVE THE GRAIN OR FRUIT FROM THOSE CORNERS - Keith Hunt]

MARK OF THE BEAST—- END TIME, LAST 42 MONTH OF THIS AGE!

IT IS IMPORTANT TO POST THIS ONCE MORE. MINISTERS COME UP WITH ALL KINDS OF IDEAS FOR THE MARK OF THE BEAST. THOSE THAT SAY IT IS A LITERAL MARK OR CHIP IN THE HAND OR ON THE FOREHEAD.

LOOK—-

13 ………….

The Feast of Unleavened Bread

And Moses said to the people: “Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of [b]bondage; for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out of this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten. On this day you are going out, in the month Abib. And it shall be, when the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LordUnleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. And no leavened bread shall be seen among you, nor shall leaven be seen among you in all your quarters. 8 And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, ‘This is donebecause of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’ It shall be as a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the Lord’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt. 10 You shall therefore keep this [c]ordinance in its season from year to year.

HERE THE MARK ON YOUR HAND OR AS A MEMORIAL BETWEEN YOUR EYES—— WAS NOT A PHYSICAL ANYTHING.  IT WAS TO DO WITH THE LAW OF GOD IN THEIR MOUTH,  AND THE MOUTH SPEAKS FOR THE MIND. AS GOD USED A STRONG HAND, THEN A STRONG HAND MEANS WHAT YOU ACTUAL DO—- YOUR WORK IN LIFE.  IF YOUR HAND IS STRONG FOR THE LORD YOU DO, YOU LIVE WITHIN GOD'S WAY OF LIFE; YOU WORK AT GOD'S WORD.

IF YOU SET YOUR MIND ON THE DICTATES, WHAT YOU THINK WITH YOUR MIND, ABOUT THE BEAST POWER, AGREE IN THE MIND WITH WHAT THEY TEACH AND SAY, YOUR MIND IS WITH THEM, AND YOU HAVE NOT THE MIND OF GOD.

IF YOU, WITH YOUR HANDS WORK FOR THE BEAST POWER, AND OBEY HIS DICTATES AS TO WHEN YOU WORK: YOU WORSHIP THE BEAST POWER AND GOD'S POWER AND WAY OF LIFE YOU DO NOT LIVE.

THE RUBBER HITS THE ROAD WHEN IT COMES TO OBSERVING THE  4TH COMMANDMENT—-WILL YOU IN MIND AND WORK OBSERVE THE 7TH DAY?

IF YOU DO NOT YOU ARE A CAST OUT—- YOUR NOTICED IMMEDIATELY!  AND YOU DO NO FIT IN!  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY AND SELL IN MERCHANT WORK, SALES WORK AND ETC.  YOU WILL HAVE TO FLEE TO THE HILLS, VALLEYS, FORESTS, CAVES, AND SECRET PLACES OF THE EARTH, TO ESCAPE THE PERSECUTING POWER OF THE BEAST, THE LAST RESURRECTION OF THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE. THERE HAS BEEN 6 HOLY ROMAN EMPIRES IN THE LAST 2,000 YEARS, IT IS IN THE  HISTORY BOOKS. THERE IS YET AT THE END TIME, ONE MORE TO COME, THAT WILL RULE THE WESTERN WORLD. IT IS FORMING RIGHT NOW IN EUROPE, RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES.

 MARK  OF  THE  BEAST !!

From  the  "Bible  Advocate"    publication  of  the  Seventh  Day  Church  of  God,  Denver,  CO.  USA   Nov/Dec. 2014

Question

In   Revelation 13:16-18, is John warning against taking microchips into our hand or body? Is that the mark of the beast?

The theme of worship is the background of Revelation 13. Worship is specifically mentioned five times and directed to both the dragon and the beast. The two-horned beast of verse 11ff uses different methods to enforce worship of the first beast: deceive people with impressive miracles, confer death upon the non-compliant, and limit buying and selling to those who would comply.

Many nations in history, including Babylon (Daniel 3), have issued decrees on worship. Financial pressure and the death penalty have often been used for leverage. Worship has not been part of modern talk about microchips for business transactions. If they are used, microchips will not likely be the only option. Business tries to increase the ways to pay a bill, not make it harder. Microchips fit the same category as Social Security cards and bar codes. Both had their turn to be suspects as mark of the beast.

— Elder John Lemley

Given the nature of Revelation, I tend to interpret this entire passage symbolically, rather than literally. The symbol was a powerful one for John's readers, who would likely think of phylacteries worn on Jewish hands and foreheads. These small boxes marked a people that belonged to the one true God and who were committed to worshipping and obeying Him alone. When John speaks of a mark on the forehead or hand that shows one's belonging to the beast, he is referring, not to a literal mark but to an allegiance, a loyalty, a belief system. He is referring to those who have not committed themselves exclusively to God and the Lamb.

Those who insist most strenuously that the "mark of the beast" be taken literally usually insist that "the beast" be interpreted as a smooth-talking, charismatic, human politician! But despite many claims to take the text of Revelation literally, everyone who interprets the book is compelled to interpret its symbols symbolically. As New Testament scholar Craig Koester says, "The question is not whether to read the text symbolically, but how to read its symbolism" (italics his).1

It is far more consistent to interpret the mark as symbolic along with the beast than it is to arbitrarily decide that the beast is a symbol but the mark is not.

(NOW  THAT  IS  USING  GOOD  OLD  HUMAN  LOGIC;  IF  THE  "MARK"  IS  LITERAL [IN  SOME  WAY]  THEN  THE  "BEAST"  IS   LITERL  BEAST   Keith Hunt)

Thus, I think it wise to consider the mark of the beast symbolic of a socio-economic system in which false worship is connected to commerce. Such a situation was familiar to the first readers of Revelation. Koester explains:

Those who sought to advance themselves socially or economically would have wanted to participate in the local trade guilds, although the social life of these guilds often included rituals and meals in honor of a pagan deity. Business contracts typically went to those who were on good terms with Roman authorities, including those who were involved in the deaths of Christians ... As sales were made, people used coins that bore the images of Rome's gods and emperors. Thus each transaction ... was a reminder that people were advancing themselves economically by relying on political powers that did not recognize the true God.2

Such systems exist in modern cultures to varying degrees. However, a microchip in itself hardly qualifies as a link between religion and commerce. Those who desire to avoid the mark of the beast need not fret over technological advances. Rather, they should focus on what is explicitly emphasized in Revelation: unabashed worship and unwavering loyalty to God and the Lamb in the face of a sinful culture that pressures us to worship and serve at the altars of power, money, pleasure, and exploitation.

KNOWING THE TRUE GOD

THIS IS NOW HISTORY; I WAS GIVEN THE HORSE OF MY BOYHOOD DREAMS FOR 16 YEARS.  SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL PALOMINO, YOU WOULD LOOK TWICE AT. SHE DIED AT AGE 21 FROM PERFORATIONS OF THE SMALL INTESTINE.

KNOWING the True God

Ask for the right things, and …

by
Keith Hunt

We come to 1 Kings chapter 3. It is the time that Solomon
should reign over Israel. God appeared to Solomon in a dream at
night and tells him he can ask for whatever he wills, and it will
be given him.

Solomon had the choice to ask for WHATEVER .... for fame,
for wealth, for long life, for any physical blessings he desired
... for anything! What does Solomon ask for, it is in verse 9:

"Give therefore to thy servant an UNDERSTANDING heart to JUDGE
thy people, that I may discern between GOOD and BAD: for who is
able to judge this thy so great a people."

It pleased the Lord that he asked for this and not for long
life, riches, and curses on his enemies; but that he had asked
for an UNDERSTANDING HEART. God would grant Solomon his request
and because he asked for good and righteous wisdom and not for
physical gain, God would also grant him many physical blessings,
and if he would continue to walk in the Lord's commandments as
his father David did, he would also have long life.

The nature of God is that if you desire first that which is
right and good, that which is wisdom, that which is correct
judgment in life, if you will seek first the Kingdom of God, all
other earthly things for life will be added unto you, and
sometimes that which you have not asked for, that which you have
put to one side, to first gain the salvation and Kingdom of God,
even that which may be on the back burning in your heart now that
the Kingdom of God is on the front burners, sometimes God will
grant you even that which you have not specifically asked for.

At the age of seven I saw my first Roy Rogers and Trigger
movie, it was in color. I well remember sitting there just
mesmerized by such a beautiful and majestic horse like Trigger.
From that very instant my biggest wish and desire was one day to
have a horse like Trigger.
At the age of 18 I set out from England to "go West young
man" and came to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, to pursue in
part my dream of finding and having a horse like Trigger.

For 3 years I learnt all I could about horses, breaking
them, training them, riding them. I had started on my boyhood
dreams and it was wonderful. I had not found my Trigger yet ....
but first things first I thought, there's lots of time to find my
Trigger.

Then the Lord started to reveal to me His word in a way I
had never seen it before, many things I had to grapple with, many
hours of study, much time at the Public Library, many many hours
of searching in the Word. I had to spend much time on my knees
asking the Lord to show me what was the good and the right and
the righteousness of Him. Much time was spent in meditation. I
had to be humble, teachable. I had to FEAR the Word of God above
anything else, above any human person, above all personal plans
and desires for my life. I came to be willing to put aside all
earthly things and ambitions. I came to see that the Kingdom of
God had to come first in my life. I was willing to let it come
first, all other things were counted as loss, as dung, that I
might win Christ Jesus, as the apostle Paul found he had to do. I
was willing to give myself un-conditionally to God the Father and
Christ.

The Lord led me on His path, what He wanted to do with me,
over the next decades. I was always provided for, learnt the
great trade of Orthopedic Shoemaking and Orthotics, and
eventually was given opportunity to use my gift of music, to
teach guitar, banjo, mandolin, steel guitar (which I still do to
this very day). In the process of time God called me to His
ministry at the age of 40, to put His ministry as the front and
focal point of my life. I realized then that all that had gone
before was just the preparation for the real work He had planned
for me.
At the age of 60 I was in the small town of Cochrane next to
Calgary (Calgary had now become my home and work-place) and it
came to my mind, unspoken words, saying to me, "You have given up
your love of horses and riding for decades, maybe it is time to
renew that sport." I walked into the Western Tack store in
Cochrane and asked them where the nearest Horse Riding Ranch was,
where I could ride on my own. They informed me about Griffin
Valley Ranch and said that was the place I needed to go to. At
the age of 60 I was riding horses once more. I became one of the
part-time hands at the Ranch to help and care for things and take
out trail rides.
In 2004 at the age of 62, I was in the position at the Ranch
where I could have my own horse, and keep her free of charge for
the work I did around there. I had actually been riding a very
nice black, part Quarter horse, I had trained him in quick neck-
reining. I asked the owner of the Ranch if he would sell him to
me. He would not because he thought he wanted him as a barrel
racing horse for his young daughter.
I then had the thought pop into my mind, "Well you have
always wanted your Golden Palomino horse like Trigger, so why not
look for it."
I was busy for the next 6 months looking for my Trigger,
only in female horse form. A large ad was in a horse magazine
that this lady had registered Quarter horses for sale. I emailed
her and said, "Well, you wouldn't happen to have a Golden
Palomino, you know the deep gold color, a mare, young, about 15
hands."
I was not expecting to have the answer back that said she
DID have such a horse for me.
The rest is history as they say!

What a beauty she is. Her registered name is "Final Touch" -
I call her "Goldie." She was five years old when I bought her,
only green broke, but what a horse, smart, intelligent, fast,
talented, and a knock-out for looks. All the people and kids tell
me all the time, how pretty she is. She is my Trigger!!

Put first things first in your life, the first things being
seeking God's Kingdom and His righteousness, and like Solomon, it
is sure a part of the nature of God to also grant you other
physical blessings that can add to make this lifetime full of joy
and abundance. Jesus said, "I have come that you might have life
and have it more abundantly."

                            ...................

THROUGH THE BIBLE—- DEUTERONOMY #10 - CHAP. 21, 22, 23

 Deuteronomy 21

The Law Concerning Unsolved Murder

21 “If anyone is found slain, lying in the field in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who killed him, then your elders and your judges shall go out and measure the distance from the slain man to the surrounding cities. And it shall be that the elders of the city nearest to the slain man will take a heifer which has not been worked and which has not pulled with a yoke. The elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with flowing water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and they shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley. Then the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come near, for the Lordyour God has chosen them to minister to Him and to bless in the name of the Lord; by their word every controversy and every [a]assault shall be settled. And all the elders of that city nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley. Then they shall answer and say, ‘Our hands have not shed this blood, nor have our eyes seen it. Provide atonement, O Lord, for Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed, and do not lay innocent blood to the charge of Your people Israel.’ And atonement shall be provided on their behalf for the blood. So you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

Female Captives

10 “When you go out to war against your enemies, and the Lordyour God delivers them into your hand, and you take them captive, 11 and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and desire her and would take her for your wife, 12 then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head and trim her nails. 13 She shall put off the clothes of her captivity, remain in your house, and mourn her father and her mother a full month; after that you may go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife. 14 And it shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall set her free, but you certainly shall not sell her for money; you shall not treat her brutally, because you have humbled her.

[GOD ALLOWED SUCH MOVEMENTS IN LIFE BECAUSE OF THEIR CARNALITY; THE LORD WAS DEALING WITH UNCONVERTED PEOPLE - Keith Hunt]

Firstborn Inheritance Rights

15 “If a man has two wives, one loved and the other unloved, and they have borne him children, both the loved and the unloved, and if the firstborn son is of her who is unloved, 16 then it shall be, on the day he bequeaths his possessions to his sons, that he must not bestow firstborn status on the son of the loved wife in preference to the son of the unloved, the true firstborn. 17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

The Rebellious Son

18 “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not heed them, 19 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city, to the gate of his city. 20 And they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ 21 Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones; so you shall put away the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

[AND I SAY AGAIN, REMEMBER THE GOD OF THE OLD TESTAMENT WAS THE ONE WHO BECAME CHRIST JESUS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT - Keith Hunt]

Miscellaneous Laws

22 “If a man has committed a sin deserving of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23 his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him that day, so that you do not defile the land which the Lord your God is giving you asan inheritance; for he who is hanged is accursed of God.

[HE IS EXECUTED FIRST AND THEN HANGED ON A  TREE AS AN EXAMPLE FOR OTHERS, BUT IT WAS ONLY FOR EX NUMBER OF HOURS; HE WAS TO BE BURRIED THE DAY OF EXECUTION - Keith Hunt]

Various Laws of Morality

22 “You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep going astray, and [a]hide yourself from them; you shall certainly bring them back to your brother. And if your brother is not near you, or if you do not know him, then you shall bring it to your own house, and it shall remain with you until your brother seeks it; then you shall restore it to him. You shall do the same with his donkey, and so shall you do with his garment; with any lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost and you have found, you shall do likewise; you [b]must not hide yourself.

“You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fall down along the road, and hide yourself from them; you shall surely help him lift them up again.

“A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are [c]an abomination to the Lord your God.

[CROSS DRESSING TO PERVERSLY BE THE OPPOSIT SEX IS ABOMINATION TO GOD - Keith Hunt]

“If a bird’s nest happens to be before you along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, with the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young; you shall surely let the mother go, and take the young for yourself, that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.

“When you build a new house, then you shall make a parapet for your roof, that you may not bring guilt of bloodshed on your household if anyone falls from it.

“You shall not sow your vineyard with different kinds of seed, lest the yield of the seed which you have sown and the fruit of your vineyard be defiled.

10 “You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.

[THEY JUST DO NOT WORK TOGETHER VERY WELL - Keith Hunt]

11 “You shall not wear a garment of different sorts, such as wool and linen mixed together.

[SUCH FABRICS DO NOT HOLD UP WELL TOGETHER. ALL MAKERS OF CLOTHING TODAY KNOW WHICH FABRICS GO TOGETHER WELL. NO NEED TO BE CONCERNED WHEN BUYING CLOTHING - Keith Hunt]

12 “You shall make tassels on the four corners of the clothing with which you cover yourself.

[IT HAD RITUALISTIC MEANING—- SEE A BIBLE DICTIONARY - Keith Hunt]

Laws of Sexual Morality

13 “If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and detests her, 14 and charges her with shameful conduct, and brings a bad name on her, and says, ‘I took this woman, and when I came to her I found she was not a virgin,’ 15 then the father and mother of the young woman shall take and bring out the evidence of the young woman’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate. 16 And the young woman’s father shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man as wife, and he detests her. 17 Now he has charged her with shameful conduct, saying, “I found your daughter was not a virgin,” and yet these are the evidences of my daughter’s virginity.’ And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18 Then the elders of that city shall take that man and punish him; 19 and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought a bad name on a virgin of Israel. And she shall be his wife; he cannot divorce her all his days.

20 “But if the thing is true, and evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, 21 then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to play the harlot in her father’s house. So you shall [d]put away the evil from among you.

22 “If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die—the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; so you shall put away the evil from Israel.

23 “If a young woman who is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he humbled his neighbor’s wife; so you shall put away the evil from among you.

25 “But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die. 26 But you shall do nothing to the young woman; there is in the young woman no sin deserving of death, for just as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, even so is this matter. 27 For he found her in the countryside, and the betrothed young woman cried out, but there was no one to save her.

28 “If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her; he shall not be permitted to divorce her all his days.

30 “A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor uncover his father’s bed.

[ALL LAWS WITH A DEATH PENALTY, UPON TRUE DEEP REPENTANCE COULD BE DOWN-GRADED TO SOME OTHER PENALTY—— EXAMPLE IS KING DAVID FOR ADULTERY AND PLANNING A PERSONS DEATH - Keith Hunt]

Those Excluded from the Congregation

23 “He who is emasculated by crushing or mutilation shall not enter the assembly of the Lord.

“One of illegitimate birth shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

“An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord forever, because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of [a]Mesopotamia, to curse you. Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you. You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.

“You shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were an alien in his land. The children of the third generation born to them may enter the assembly of the Lord.

Cleanliness of the Campsite

“When the army goes out against your enemies, then keep yourself from every wicked thing. 10 If there is any man among you who becomes unclean by some occurrence in the night, then he shall go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp. 11 But it shall be, when evening comes, that he shall wash with water; and when the sun sets, he may come into the camp.

12 “Also you shall have a place outside the camp, where you may go out; 13 and you shall have an implement among your equipment, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it and turn and cover your refuse. 14 For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.

Miscellaneous Laws

15 “You shall not give back to his master the slave who has escaped from his master to you. 16 He may dwell with you in your midst, in the place which he chooses within one of your gates, where it [b]seems best to him; you shall not oppress him.

[A TYPE OF SLAVERY WAS ALLOWED IN ISRAEL; VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE HORRID SLAVERY PRACTICED BY VARIOUS COUNTRIES IN HISTORY.  IT IS A HUGE TOPIC—- SEE "SERVANT" "BOND" IN VINE'S TOPICAL BIBLE - Keith Hunt]

17 “There shall be no ritual [c]harlot of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted[d] one of the sons of Israel. 18 You shall not bring the wages of a harlot or the price of a dog to the house of the Lordyour God for any vowed offering, for both of these are [e]an abomination to the Lord your God.

19 “You shall not charge interest to your brother—interest on money or food or anything that is lent out at interest. 20 To a foreigner you may charge interest, but to your brother you shall not charge interest, that the Lord your God may bless you in all to which you set your hand in the land which you are entering to possess.

21 “When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it; for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and it would be sin to you. 22 But if you abstain from vowing, it shall not be sin to you. 23 That which has gone from your lips you shall keep and perform, for you voluntarily vowed to the Lord your God what you have promised with your mouth.

[CONCERING VOWS UNDER THE OLD COVENANT—- JESUS CHANGED THIS LAW; NO VOWS UNDER NEW TESTAMENT, JUST YES OR NO. IT'S IN THE GOSPELS - Keith Hunt]

24 “When you come into your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes at your pleasure, but you shall not put any in your container. 25 When you come into your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck the heads with your hand, but you shall not use a sickle on your neighbor’s standing grain.

[EAT YOUR FILL IN PERSON OF NEIGHTBOR'S VINEYARD OR GRAIN FIELD, BUT NOT TAKING AWAY IN BASKETS ETC. THEN IT IS STEALING. TAKING AWAY WOULD BE A TRANSACTION OF BUYING - Keith Hunt]
