THE OLD AND THE NEW???

Believing Moses?

The Old as important as a Miracle!

MUST CHRISTIANS BELIEVE MOSES?

by John W. Trescott (written 1984)

During the days of the early Church, when the New Testament
was being written, all that was available to be read and taught
was what was known as the Holy Scriptures or what we today call
the Old Testament. The apostle Paul revealed a 'lost truth' when
he told Timothy those 'Old Testament' or Holy Scriptures, were
actually able to make one wise unto salvation (2 Tim.3:15).
Some of those Scriptures were written by Moses. But should
Christians listen to Moses?

WHO WAS MOSES?

Some little known Scriptures stand out when we begin to
search out who Moses really was. Moses was a prophet (Deut.
34:10). Moses was a man of God (Deut.33:1). Moses was a servant
of The Lord (Deut.34:5). Moses was SENT by God (Ex.3:14; 5:22).
As one sent he spoke the words of God. (Jn.3:34).

WHO IS THE LORD GOD?

The Lord God held Moses in high esteem. But who is this Lord
God? Let us carefully notice and compare Rev.22:6 & 16. "And he
said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the LORD
GOD OF THE HOLY PROPHETS sent His angel to show unto His servants
the things which must shortly be done.
I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in
the churches."

By simple comparison we can see that the One who sent His
angel is both JESUS and the LORD GOD OF THE HOLY PROPHETS!
Therefore, Jesus IS the Lord God of the Holy Prophets. It then
follows this same Jesus is the Lord God who spoke face to face
and mouth to mouth with Moses!

Another crystal clear proof is found in 1 Cor.10:4 where it
is speaking of the children of Israel who came out of Egypt. "And
did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that
spiritual Rock that followed (or went with) them, and that
ROCK was Christ!"

Nothing could be clearer. Jesus Christ was the very person
who walked with, talked with, and instructed Moses on His way of
life. And this Jesus is the SAME, yesterday, today, and forever
(Heb.13:8).

CHRISTIANS AND MOSES

The religious people of Jesus' day, as in our day, did not
really believe and obey Moses. Note very carefully what Jesus
said to them in John 5:4647. "For had you believed Moses, you
would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But IF you believe
not his writings, how shall you believe my words?"

Jesus plainly is showing that if they did not believe the
writings of Moses, they simply could not believe Him. It was
Christ who told Moses what to write!! So, today, if you do not
believe the writings of Moses, it is well nigh impossible to
believe the REAL Jesus.

EVEN IF CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD

Jesus has shown that even though He rose from the dead, a
person who did not believe Moses would not believe Him, and
therefore would not truly repent. Luke 16:29-31. "Abraham says to
him, They have Moses and the prophets; Let them hear them. And he
said, No, father Abraham: but if one went to them from the dead,
they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses,
and the prophets, neither will they be persuade, though one rose
from the dead."

This is VITAL TO YOUR SALVATION! Think what is being said!
Even though Christ is risen from the dead, if a person does not
believe the writings of Moses, there is little chance
of repentance! WHY?

VAIL UPON THEIR EYES

Many today believe in a Jesus not knowing the Jesus they
believe in is not the REAL Jesus! The Bible speaks of another
Jesus! The reason is they will not believe Moses! And why? There
is a curtain or vail over their eyes so they cannot see. Notice 2
Cor.3:14-15. "But their minds were blinded: for until this day
remains the same vail untaken away in the reading of the Old
Testament ... But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the
vail is upon their heart."

Yet that veil is done away in Christ! See verse 14, last
seven words.

THERE IS HOPE

Jesus says a Christian MUST believe the writings of Moses
and the prophets. Yet there is a vail on peoples' hearts, so they
cannot. But there is hope! Listen! 2 Cor.3:16 .. "Nevertheless
when one shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall he take away!"

Yes, the vail will be taken away from your eyes if you will
turn to Jesus Christ. The REAL Jesus. Believe Him and obey Him.
Then the way of salvation, which Christ revealed to Moses, will
become clear to you as you read and study those spectacular
writings of Moses and the prophets.
A whole new way of life will open to you; a way of real
security, happiness, and joy. A way that Christ revealed to
Moses. For Jesus Christ revealed HIS WAY unto Moses. (Psa.
103:7).

                           .....................

NOTE:

is an expanded context of Jesus saying: "Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth
of God" (Mat.4:4).

YOU AS A CHRISTIAN MUST BELIEVE THE OLD TESTAMENT - MOSES AND THE
PROPHETS. If you cannot BELIEVE the Word of God, which is the Old
Testament as well as the New Testament, then you will NOT
BELIEVE even if someone should rise from the dead, and tell you!

Satan can perform miracles, and come as an angle of light! So it
is written!

BELIEVING ALL THE WORD OF GOD, AND LIVING BY IT, IS THAT
IMPORTANT TO YOUR SALVATION!
