EZEKIEL 38, 39

 RUSSIA....UKRAINE.....EZEKIEL 38??

We  have  the  Protestant  fundamental  prophets  teaching  with  all  gusto,  that  Russia  and  some  Arab  nations  will,  before  Jesus  returns,  in  fact  very  shortly  they  say,  invade  the  Jews  in  the  Holy  Land,  but  God  will  destroy  them.

Another  take  on  this  Ezekiel  38  and  39  prophecy  is  from  the  various  British  Israel  groups;  they  teach  Russia  and  company  will  try  to  come  against  Britain  and  the  USA  and  the  West  as  we  see  from  the  following  recent  published  article  -  Keith Hunt.

God Is Still In Charge - Ezekiel 38

I was privileged to speak at the 1997 Association Covenant People conference in Vancouver where I spoke on the prophecy of Ezekiel. A month before the conference Britain had turned over Hong Kong to China, thus losing the last major gate of it enemies. Still, at the time, China, a close ally of Russia, was not the economic powerhouse she was to become. Russia was still limping along after losing all her satellite countries and relied greatly on western economic help. Her glory days appeared over after being turned back, as prophesied by Ezekiel 38:4.

There seemed no longer an appetite for conquest and she appeared content to be just an important member of the world community. Yet, underneath, there must have been a longing for the grand old days when so many nations were in their grip. I suppose that deep in their thoughts, they had a realization that it would take a set of circumstances and a unique leader to bring about a reversal of the decline.

(I  DOUBT  RUSSIA  WAS  CONCERNED  ABOUT  JUST  BEING  A  FEDERATION.  SHE  WAS  STILL  AS  POWERFUL  MILITARILY   AS  THE  USA,  AND  SHE  WAS  TOO  CONCERNED  WITH  HER  ECONOMY,  TO  BE  CONCERNED  ABOUT  REGAINING  FALLEN-AWAY  NATIONS,  THAT  SEEMED  TO  BE  QUITE  HAPPY  WITHOUT  HER  -  Keith Hunt)

Probably, a thought along these lines must have gone through the Russian Bear's mind, "there must be a way to bring about the right conditions." Happily for them, the passage of short years since those events of 1988/89 brought fertile conditions. Oil & gas revenues soared and gave Russia the financial muscle to upgrade its military and its nuclear arsenal.

The results of their build-up were even more advantageous because Russia stayed out of foreign wars, consequently, she didn't expend her arsenal, or encumber the nation with astronomical debt.

Not so with her main antagonists to be, America and Britain. Particularly after 911, they went from one hot spot to another, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya being the most prominent. These wars cost tens of thousands of lives and wounded soldiers, not counting the hundreds of thousands of lives of host countries in the war zones. These wars also resulted in national debt that is so severe it can never be repaid, with much of the debt owing to the very countries Ezekiel states we will be facing in battle.

The wars have I most certainly sapped the desire of the American and British people to involve themselves in yet another war. Then too, wars for manufactured reasons, as we have seen, have generated a hate against America and Britain that will most assuredly draw traditional enemies of the west, together with many present and former friendly nations, to a common purpose, allied against us. So, everything is in place for the second part of Ezekiel's prophesy, "And. I will put hooks I into your jaws and I will bring thee forth."

All that is needed to bring Bible prophecy to fruition is the unique leader Russia has been seeking. And she found that leader in the person of Vladimer Putin, a former premier at a time conditions I were not ripe for what he has in mind. But, they are now ideal; at least Putin thinks they are! In my last article I described him as a bully who has a fierce desire to restore what he considers the I glory years and the annexation of Crimea is simply the first step.

(PUTIN  WOULD  HAVE  DONE  NOTHING  IF  THE  RUSSIAN  UKRAINE  PEOPLE  HAD  NOT  DESIRED  TO  BE  A  PART  OF  RUSSIA.  IS  RUSSIA  GOING  TO  REFUSE  TO  LET  THEM  COME  JOIN  THEIR  FEDERATION?  I  GUESS  NOT.  THEIR  CULTURE  AND  LANGUAGE  FOR  RUSSIAN  UKRAINE  PEOPLE  IS  RUSSIAN.  THEY  SET  IN  MOTION  THE  HELP  FROM  RUSSIA  THEY  WANTED.  IT  WAS  NOT  PUTIN  OR  RUSSIA  THAT  STARTED  IT  ALL.  IT  WAS  THE  PEOPLE  IN  UKRAINE  WHO  SEE  THEMSELVES  AS  RUSSIAN,  AND  WANT  TO  BE  PART  OF  RUSSIA  -  Keith Hunt)

He very likely feels secure because of the fragile American and British economy, their unsustainable debt and the anxiety of their people; coupled with the EU's, particularly Germany's, dependence on Russian oil and gas. It's akin to the Bible verse, "The borrower is servant to the lender." In this case, "the customer is servant to the supplier."

Events appear to be moving so quickly that what I could say today may be old news tomorrow. The blunt statement from Russian sources, "We will protect ours" is likely to be repeated many times as an excuse to intervene in nations with large Russian populations. Right now, we all know that some forty thousand Russian soldiers are amassed on the Ukrainian border ready for the order to move into Eastern and Southern Ukraine, an area with a huge percentage of former Russian people. It looks inevitable.

(COULD  WELL  BE  INEVITABLE.  BUT  AGAIN  IT  IS  RUSSIAN  HELPING  RUSSIAN...... A  FRIEND  HELPING  A  FRIEND.  WOULD  THE  BRITISH  NOT  HELP  A  BRITISH  FRIEND  OF  THE  COMMONWEALTH?   I  THINK  SO.  BLOOD  DOES  RUN  DEEP  IN  A  FAMILY  -  Keith Hunt)

We hear daily speculation that Russia has aims against the whole of Ukraine but there are also frequent articles about Moldava,  particularly that strip of land between Ukraine and Moldava (Transtria), as well as the Balkan countries, Georgia and even Finland and Poland. Remember, one thing learned from experience is that a bully becomes even more emboldened when there is no resistance.

And so, we are beginning to hear the words, "Are we going to stand up to them." It will be a decision of great anguish. Maybe the western nations have to be pushed further. So far we have had the usual diplomatic negotiations and we did hear that phrase "Peace in our times" out of world leaders. It reminds us of 1 Thessalonians 5:3 "For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them ..." For our older readers, it likely reminds them of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain when he returned to London just before World War II and proclaimed, "Peace in our times".

(THE  SITUATION  HAS  NOTHING  TO  DO  WITH  1  THES.  5:3  AND  NOTHING  TO  DO  WITH  THE  NEVILLE  CHAMBERLAIN  HISTORY.  RUSSIA  IS  NOT  TRYING  TO  CONQUER  EUROPE.  SHE  IS  HELPING  RUSSIAN  BLOOD  RELATIVES  OF  THE  SAME  FAMILY,  TO  DETERMINE  WHO  WHAT  FAMILY  THEY  DESIRE  TO  BE  PART  OF....JUST  THAT  SIMPLE.  NO  DARK  PLAN  HERE  OF  RUSSIA  BEING  ANOTHER  HITLER  AND  HIS  CLONES,  DESIRING  TO  CONQUER  EUROPE;  SUCH  WOULD  BE  TOTAL  FOLLY  ON  THE  PART  OF  RUSSIA,  AND  PUTIN  IS  NOT  STUPID  -  Keith Hunt)

Here's an interesting thought, perhaps a sequence of events repeated. Hitler's first move was to annex Austria, Putin annexed Crimea. Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and annexed the northern part, Sudetenland. If the script is to be followed, then Putin will move into Eastern Ukraine. Hitler (then invaded the balance of Czechoslovakia so perhaps the sequence of events will have Russia taking over the balance of the Ukraine. We just have to stay tuned.

(NOTHING  AT  ALL  TO  DO  WITH  BEING  ANOTHER  HITLER.  EASTERN  UKRAINE  MAY  VERY  WELL  SPLIT  AND  JOIN  THE  RUSSIAN  FEDERATION.  BUT  PUTIN  AND  RUSSIA  ARE  NOT  AFTER  CONQUERING  EUROPE.  BIBLE  PROPHECY  SAYS  NO  SUCH  THING  WILL  HAPPEN  PER  SE  BEFORE  THE  LAST  3  AND  1/2  YEARS  OF  THIS  AGE.  THEN  RUSSIA  AND  THE  EAST  WILL  STRIKE  THE  BABYLON  BEAST,  HOLY  ROMAN  EMPIRE  OF  EUROPE [REV. 9]  BUT  NOT  BEFORE  -  Keith Hunt)

But, wait a minute, Mr. Putin! Do you really think you are in charge of events? Or is God using you, as He used the Pharaoh of Egypt or King Nebuchadnezzar? Read Ezekiel 38:4 again!  It clearly says, "And I will put hooks into thy jaws,  and I will bring thee forth ..." 

You have no choice, you will do as God directs, perhaps not this month or next but it is He who is in charge. It's in the Book. ■

OH  INDEED  GOD  WILL  DO  AS  GOD  DIRECTS.  AND  YES  WE  WILL  READ  EZEKIEL  38  AND  39  AGAIN.

IF  THIS  IS  A  PROPHECY  OF  RUSSIA  AND  COMPANY  COMING  AGAINST  BRITAIN,  THE  USA,  AND  THE  WEST.  NOTE  WHAT  IT  THEN  SAYS  ABOUT  THE  WEST [GOING  ALONG  WITH  BRITISH  ISRAEL  THINKING] ......  in verses 8-11.... the people of Israel are dwelling safely, they have unwalled towns and villages, they are at rest, they have no walls, nor bars nor gates....the enemy shall not know it [v.14].  Russia  can  know  everything  today via  satellite and spying networks.  Do you think Britain, the USA, and Europe,  will  ever  think  they  are  safe;  take  down  their  defenses,  have  no  walls  of  defense,  have  no  bars  or  gates,  of  protection,  before  the  end  of  this  age  comes.  Can  you  ever  imagine  the  West  ever  doing  such  a  thing  before  Christ  returns,  and  Russia  and  company  will  never  know  anything  about  such  a  move.  NEVER,  NEVER,  it  just  will  NOT  HAPPEN  before  Jesus  returns.  To  think  it  will  would  have  to  be  the  wildest  and  craziest  nightmare  a  person  could  have.

For  those  Protestant  prophets  who  say  this  is  a  prophecy  in  the  near  future  of  Russia  and  company  coming  to  invade  the  Jews  in  the  Holy  Land;  again  will  the  Jews  ever  take  away  their  walls, bars, gates, of defense?  Will  the  Palestinians  before  Christ  returns  decide  to  have  100  percent  peace  with  the  Jews,  so  all  the  Jewish  walls  they  have  literally  built  around  their  nation  will  come  down?  The  idea  of  that  is  so  illogical,  it  hardly  bears  contemplating;  it  is  a  nutty  teaching  and  thought.

In  chapter  39  the  people  of  Israel  will  burn  the  left  over  enemy  weapons  for  SEVEN  YEARS!  [verse  9].  You  can  only  burn  weapons  that  are  burnable,  like  cave-men  style  weapons;  you  do  not  burn  weapons  made  of  steel.  And  the  attacking  of  Russia  and  company  would  be  with  modern  up-to-date  weapons  of  mass  destruction,  if  they  were  to  come  in  warfare  against  the  West,  or  the  Jews  in  the  Holy  Land.

In  chapter  39  and  verse 12.  Israel  will  be  burying  the  enemy  for  SEVEN  MONTHS!  In  a  modern  war [just  around  the  corner  as  some  preach]  you  would  not  need  tens  of  thousands  of  troops;  you  would  use  modern  planes  with  bombs  to  do  your  work  of  destruction  and  conquest.

THE  WHOLE  IDEAS  OF  EITHER  RUSSIA  AND  COMPANY  COMING  AGAINST  THE  WEST,  OR  INVADING  THE  LAND  OF  THE  JEWS  [BRITISH  ISRAEL  OR  PROTESTANT  PROPHETS  TEACHING]  IS  TOTALLY  ILLOGICAL  AND  FRANKLY  STUPID  REASONING,  WITH  WHAT  IS  WRITTEN  IN  EZEKIEL  38  AND  39.

WHAT  IS  WRITTEN  IN  THOSE  TWO  CHAPTERS  CAN  MAKE  FULL  SENSE  AND  LOGIC,  WHEN  VIEWED  AFTER  ALL  THAT  IS  WRITTEN  IN  THE  BOOK  OF  REVELATION  HAS  COME  TO  PASS,  AND  AFTER  JESUS  HAS  RETURNED  TO  JERUSALEM,  AND  AGAIN  RESTORING  THE  HOUSE  OF   ISRAEL  AND  THE  HOUSE  OF  JUDAH  BACK  IN  A  100  PERCENT  SAFE  HOLY  LAND.  WHERE  JESUS  AND  THE  GLORIFIED   SAINTS  ARE  THE  PROTECTING  WALLS  FOR  THE  PHYSICAL  PEOPLE  OF  ISRAEL.

A Christian Israelite View 

A RELUCTANT ACCOMPLICE

"And I will turn thee back, and put hooks in thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth" (Eze.38:4)

(I've told you how the British Israel groups teach that Russia and company will attack and destroy the nations of the West, that are predominantly Israelite nations. Mr. Vermaat continues with this teaching, but he does bring out a few points concerning the recent Ukraine and Russia situation - Keith Hunt)

In the last couple of months a great deal of attention has been paid to the turmoil in the Ukraine and the possible repercussions that might come forth out of all this unrest. A good number of Bible students are pointing at the Gog and Magog prophecy of Ezekiel 38, and most of them are pointing the finger at the terrible Russian Bear as being the proverbial boogie man causing all the unrest. But, let's look at this situation a little closer to see if this analysis is correct. First, we have to understand that since the breakup of the Soviet Union, Ukraine has been a buffer zone between the West and Russia. A few years ago, a number of Ukraine's government officials were ousted and imprisoned on corruption charges, and a new government leader was elected by a democratic process. Now, during the last several months new unrest has erupted and a tug of war seems to be taking place. Some of its citizens have been persuaded through outside pressure to join the Western block, principally NATO, whereas others have sought closer ties to Russia, these others mostly being ethnic Russians. So, when the people of the Crimean Peninsula voted overwhelmingly to be annexed with Russia, and Russia sent in some military personnel for protection, the indignant Western World called it an act of military aggression and interference. Whether it was or not, what happened to that point happened and we could only hope that further hostilities would be avoided.

As an aside, there is a touch of irony to Russia gobbling up Crimea, as she did. The irony being that we western nations have done exactly the same, as in the past we have intervened in other sovereign nations in the name of freedom and democracy. Think of the war against Serbia to help the people of Kosovo gain their independence. We thought we had to intervene, and probably we did, because the Kosovo people felt threatened and were seeking a new direction. Still, but by the same token, was there any difference in the Crimea people seeking a new direction through their overwhelming vote to join Russia?

The danger shaping up are the escalating events in Eastern Ukraine and if the West and Russia cannot find a solution to the continuing turmoil.....

Now I agree with Pastor Alan Campbell's description of Vladimer Putin as a bully. Perhaps I would go a step further and call him a risk-taking bully. Still, in the same way as we look upon the good and bad traits of our western leaders, we must admit that Mr. Putin has many fine attributes, as well as flaws. You know, in his tenure as the Russian Premier he has led Russia back to its Orthodox roots, something that was basically destroyed by the Bolsheviks. And interestingly, under his leadership some twenty-three hundred Russian Orthodox churches have been restored to religious service, with the emphasis on Christian worship and the unity of the family. He hosted a magnificent Winter Olympics, although he had to withstand the fierce attack from mostly western nations on his gay rights legislation. We Christians have to be encouraged that our fellow Christians in Russia are once again free to worship Almighty God. Sadly, it is such an obvious change from the pressure our faith is under here in the once Christian west. 

At this point let's look again at the prophecy of Ezekiel 38. "Son of man, set thy face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, thus saith the Lord God: behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army," (Ezekiel 38:2-4). We see here in verse four that Gog [Russia] is not perpetrating the act of aggression of his own volition, but that the Lord Himself will bring him forth, in other words Gog will have to be coerced into action. She will have to be provoked in order to come forth with all her military might. And if we consider the NATO allies' military along Russia's western borders, we can easily see that these actions could provoke the Russian Bear.....

(NOT  SO  AS  THIS  PROPHECY  OF  EZEKIEL  HAS  NOTHING  TO  DO  WITH  THIS  AGE  BEFORE  JESUS  RETURNS;  IT  HAS  AS  I'VE  SHOWN,  EVERYTHING  TO  DO  WITH  THE  FIRST  YEARS  AFTER  CHRIST  HAS  RETURNED  TO  JERUSALEM,  AND  ALL  THE  TRIBES  OF  ISRAEL  ARE  AT  PEACE  AND  SAFETY,  WITH  NO  WALLS,  BARS,  OR  GATES;  NO  DEFENSE  NEEDED  AS  CHRIST  AND  THE  SAINTS  WILL  BE  THE  SURE  DEFENSE  OF  ISRAEL.  THE  CONTEXT  OF  EZEKIEL  HERE  IS  FOR  AFTER  THE  RETURN  OF  CHRIST  TO  THIS  EARTH  -  Keith Hunt)

Interestingly, the fact that the Lord God Himself will bring Russia forth is to me an indication that just like the Lord brought the Assyrians against the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Babylonians against the Southern Kingdom of Judah, he will bring Gog, Magog and confederates against True Israel.

Why! Because of our collective sins and idolatry. In addition to Ezekiel, the prophet Joel records God's warning that the day of the Lord is close at hand and he describes the invasion thusly, "a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like ..."

So we can be certain it is the Lord Himself who will bring the adversary upon the Israelite nations, because of their sins and apostasy. They may not want to advance but the "hooks will be in their jaw.".....

(SO  HE  IS  SAYING  GOD  WILL  MAKE  IT  HAPPEN.....THE  ISRAEL  NATIONS  OF  THE  WEST  WILL  BE  ATTACKED  AND  DESTROYED  BY  RUSSIA  AND  COMPANY,  BECAUSE  OF  OUR  SINS  -  Keith Hunt)

The Western nations do seem to be stirring the cauldron of discontent and in places where we have no business meddling and for that the Lord will hold us accountable. Unfortunately, our leaders are making decisions that will lead to war. Russia, on the other hand, must act prudently or else their actions will lead to war. So far, they are not. But God is the decision maker and His Plan will not be altered. If He says that he will put hooks in the mouth of Gog and Magog, He will do so. The beginning is clearly outlined in Ezekiel 38:4, the ending in Ezekiel 39:4. The turning point is recorded in Hosea 6:1-2 when Israelites will go to their knees and pray, "Come, and let us return unto the Lord..." ....................

LET  IT  BE  KNOWN,  SOUND  THE  BELL!  I  STATE  AGAIN,  THE  BRITISH  ISRAEL  GROUPS  DO  NOT  UNDERSTAND  END  TIME  BIBLE  PROPHECY.  THEY  ARE  LIKE  THE  FUNDAMENTAL  PROTESTANT  PROPHETS,  THEY  HAVE  IT  ALL  WRONG.  THIS  EZEKIEL  38  AND  39  IS  FOR  AFTER  JESUS  HAS  RETURNED.

NOTICE THE LAST VERSES OF CHAPTER 39—— IT IS THE TIME WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS BEEN POURED OUT ON ALL THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL. A TIME AFTER THE COMING OF CHRIST WHO DELIVERS ALL TRIBES OF ISRAEL FROM THEIR CAPTIVITY, AND  RESTORES THEM TO THE PROMISED LAND, AS TAUGHT BY ALL THE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS. 

THERE  WILL  BE  NO  WAR  BETWEEN  THE  BRITISH  COMMONWEALTH  AND  THE  USA  AND  SOME  NATIONS  OF  NORTH-WESTERN  EUROPE.

THOSE  NATIONS  WILL  BE  DESTROYED  BY  THE  RISING  BEAST  OF  EUROPE  -  THE  LAST  RESURRECTION  OF  THE  HOLY  ROMAN  EMPIRE  -  THE  BEAST  BABYLON  MYSTERY  RELIGION  OF  EUROPE,  THAT  WILL  INDEED  ONE  DAY  RULE  THE  WESTERN  WORLD.
