The following is taken from the book THE ARITHMETIC OF GOD,
first published in 1976.
" Number seven is connected with completeness, perfection,
or bringing to an end.
You're in a host of sevens now!......
In the beginning, God stamped number seven as the number
connected with the finishing, completing or ending. ' Thus the
heavens and the earth were finished, and all the hosts of them.
And on the SEVENTH DAY God ended His work which He had made '
(Gen.1:1-2).
God appointed seven days to the week. Everyone considers
seven says as being a week. Our everyday life is regulated
accordingly, but no one asks why! There are SEVEN NOTES(basic)
in the musical scale: A B C D E F G ......Man named the notes
even as he did the days of the week, but he did not arrange the
sound any more than he selected the number of days in the week.
This was God's work as predestined.
In Lev.23:15, the word 'complete' is found with the number
seven. ' And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the
sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave
offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete.'
In Rev.10:7, the word 'finish' is found with the number
seven, ' but in the last days of the voice of the SEVENTH angel,
when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be
FINISHED, as He has declared to His servants the prophets.'
Rev.16:17 states, ' It is done.' 'And the SEVENTH angel
poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice
out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is
done.' There are exactly SEVEN Greek letters in the verb, 'It is
done.'
Rev.16:17 has just SEVEN Greek letters in each word. In
this connection the SEVENTH angel poured out the SEVENTH vial.
SEVEN vials multiplied by SEVEN angels would be 49; SEVEN words
multiplied by SEVEN letters would be 49. In Rev.16:17, it is
seen that the judgment of the SEVEN vials came upon the followers
of the BEAST and DRAGON. The Beast is mentioned 36 times in
Revelation, and the word ' dragon ' is found 13 times. THESE TWO
NUMBERS COMBINE TO 49. The Greek word for ' it is done ' is
GEGONEN (seven letters).
Rev.15:6 and 7 states. ' And the SEVENTH angel came out of
the temple, having the SEVEN plagues, clothed in pure and white
linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles. And
one of the four beasts gave unto the SEVEN angels SEVEN golden
vials full of the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.' In
this verse there are 49 GREEK WORDS. This is SEVEN times SEVEN,
and there are SEVEN angels with SEVEN vials.
The name of Noah occurs the SEVENTH time where it is said, '
Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations ' (Gen.6:9).
There are SEVEN Greek words in the statement, ' for my
strength is made perfect
in weakness ' ( 2 Cor.12:9).
It was SEVEN days after Noah entered the ark before the
flood came. ' and it came to pass after SEVEN DAYS, THAT THE
WATERS OF THE FLOOD WERE UPON THE EARTH ' (Gen.7:10). In verse
ten the word ' earth ' is found the 49th time. The flood was
indicative of God's WRATH being poured out upon the earth even as
the SEVEN vials of the SEVEN angels are to be connected with the
WRATH of God on the earth. ' And I heard a great voice out of the
temple saying to the SEVEN angels, Go your way, and pour out the
vials of the WRATH of God upon the earth ' (Rev.16:1).
When SEVEN, the number of angels, is multiplied by SEVEN,
the number of vials, the sum is 49. When the word ' earth ' is
found the 49th time, God caused the flood to cover the earth.
God had already said, ' yet SEVEN days and I will cause it to
rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights.'
In the days of Joseph there were SEVEN years of plenty which
were followed by SEVEN years of famine (Gen.41:10 and 30).
SEVEN things are connected with the complete destruction of
Jericho, ' and they utterly destroyed all that was in the city,
(1) both man and (2) woman, (3) young and (4) old, and (5) ox,
and (6) sheep, and (7) ass, with the edge of the sword ' (Joshua
6:21).
Before the walls of Jericho fell down, the children of
Israel marched around the city SEVEN days and SEVEN times on the
SEVENTH day (Joshua 6:3-5).
Jesus spoke SEVEN times from the cross. The SEVENTH
statement was, ' It is finished.' ' When Jesus therefore had
received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His
head, and gave up the spirit ' (John 19:30). "
THERE IT IS! WHAT PROOF THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN. THE
NUMBER SEVEN HAS GREAT MEANING TO GOD AND TO US IF WE WILL BUT
ONLY SEE IT. THE SEVENTH DAY SABBATH CAPS OFF THE PERFECT
CREATION WEEK OF GENESIS CHAPTER ONE AND TWO. GOD BLESSED AND
SANCTIFIED IT AT THE BEGINNING. HE PLACED IT IN THE GREAT TEN
COMMANDMENTS. IT IS THE LONGEST IN NUMBER OF WORDS OF ANY OF THE
TEN. HE TOLD HIS PEOPLE TO REMEMBER IT, TO KEEP IT HOLY, TO REST
ON THAT DAY FROM ALL YOUR WORK. IT WAS TO REMIND THEM OF HIS
PERFECT COMPLETENESS AND PERFECTION. IT IS TO REMIND US THERE
WILL BE AN END TO THIS AGE OF SIN AND EVIL, AND THERE WILL COME A
DAY OF 1000 YEARS IN WHICH THERE WILL BE REST, PEACE, JOY,
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND SALVATION FOR ALL NATIONS THROUGH THE MESSIAH
CHRIST JESUS.
AH, THE WONDER OF NUMBER "SEVEN" IS PERFECT. JESUS KEPT THE
SEVENTH DAY SABBATH. CAN WE DO ANY LESS? I THINK NOT!
