SINGING ABOUT THE BIRTH OF THE CHRIST——
SOME [probably most] 7TH DAY SABBATH OBSERVING CHURCHES OF GOD JUST DO NOT SING ABOUT THE BIRTH OF THE SAVIOR!
NOW THE GOSPELS CLEARLY SHOW THE BIRTH OF JESUS WAS RECOGNIZED BY THE HEAVENLY FATHER, WITH MEN AND ANGELS PRESENT.
WE ARE NOT TOLD TO SET ANY DAY APART TO COMMEMORATE JESUS BIRTH. WITH ALL THE WRITINGS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, NOT ONE WORD SPEAKS ABOUT THE FIRST APOSTLES PICKING A DAY TO COMMEMORATE CHRIST’S BIRTH.
IT IS A FACT OF CHRISTIAN HISTORY THAT THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH DID NOT PICK A DAY TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS UNTIL, THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH DID SO, ABOUT 400 YEARS AFTER THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF THE LORD JESUS.
WE IN THE 7TH DAY SABBATH OBSERVING CHURCHES, SING ABOUT THE LIFE, THE MIRACLES, THE SALVATION, THE POWER, THE LOVE, THE COMING AGAIN OF CHRIST, THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND MANY MORE SPIRITUAL THINGS CONCERNING THE GOSPEL—— BUT WE DO NOT SING ABOUT OUR SAVIOR’S BIRTH!
THIS IS NOT LOGICAL!
JUST BECAUSE WE DO NOT CELEBRATE A DAY OF CHRIST’S BIRTH, SHOULD NOT MEAN WE AUTOMATICALLY DO NOT SING ABOUT HIS BIRTH.
IT IS ILLOGICAL TO SING ABOUT ALL ASPECTS OF CHRIST, SALVATION, AND THE KINGDOM, AT ALL TIMES OF THE YEAR, AND THEN NOT SING ABOUT HIS BIRTH.
THE 7TH DAY SABBATH CHURCHES WHO DO NOT SING ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS, NEED TO REPENT OF THIS CULTIC ATTITUDE.
THERE ARE MANY SONGS AND BEAUTIFUL MELODIES FOR SINGING ABOUT THE SAVIOR’S BIRTH; YES A FEW WORDS HERE AND THERE NEED CHANGING, BUT
THAT CAN BE EASILY DONE.
BECAUSE WE DO NOT OBSERVE THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHRISTMASS DOES NOT MEAN WE SHOULD NOT SING ABOUT THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
