KNOWING THE TRUE GOD #6
God's GLORY is seen by man
MOSES SEES GOD IN HIS GLORY Some men in the Bible have seen God in vision or dreams, Ezekiel being one of them. God has come in the form of a physical man and talked with them, as we have already seen. But ONE man in the Bible has seen God in His glorious spirit form, although it was only His back parts. The man who had the honor of the Eternal showing Himself as He is in His natural state, was MOSES! I have said that God is not only our Father, but He is our FRIEND! He wants to be our friend. Moses, among others, actually all who served and worshipped God were His friends. But Moses was one of the few in the Old Testament who was able to speak to God face to face. "And the Lord spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speaks unto his friend" (Exodus 33:11). Moses was so close to the Lord and got to know God in such a friendship way - having the Lord talk with you face to face is some real friendship for sure. Moses is talking to God one day and says, "I beseech thee, show me thy GLORY!" (Ex.33:18). The Lord replied: "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you, and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. But you cannot see my FACE: for there shall no man see me, and live. Behold there is a place by me, and you shall stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my GLORY passes by, that I will put you in the cliff of the rock, and will cover you with my hand while I pass by. And I will take away my hand, and you shall see by BACK PARTS: but my FACE shall NOT be seen" (verses 19-23). What a stupendous privilege Moses was given, to actually see the FORM and SHAPE of God Himself, even if only the back-parts of the Lord. But to see in actual real time the GLORIOUS God, even from the back is one super gift. The Eternal God is able to do this IF He so wills it, and in this case God was going to grant Moses His request, but he could not see the face of God, for as the Lord said, no man in flesh and blood condition, can look on the face of God and live. The Father and the Son will be the light of the city of Jerusalem that comes to earth with the Father. There will indeed be no night there for the glory of Father and Christ will be the light thereof. We see it all as given to us in the last chapters of the book of Revelation. One day the children of God will see Jesus in His glorified God form and they will be LIKE HIM, for they shall see Him as he is (1 John 3:1-3). GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS One of the righteous character traits of the Almighty is that He is no respecter of persons. All are judged equally in His sight. It makes no difference what your status level is on this earth, be it king or peasant, God deals with everyone in a just manner. What you do with what you have been given is judged with equity and righteousness. The great Moses did not have some inside track or connection with God that allowed him to get away with sin or sins. We see this impressed on our minds with the account of the waters of Meribah, in Numbers 20, verses 7 to 12 and 23. Moses and Aaron did not obey God, and allowed some vanity to surface in this particular miracle that was to be done. Moses did not sanctify God as he should have done in the eyes of the children of Israel. So the Lord said Aaron would die before Israel entered the land of promise, and Moses would only see the promised land from afar. Moses was still loved and I'm sure will have a good reward in the Kingdom when it comes to earth at the return of Christ Jesus. He was one mightily used by the Lord, and the Lord worked with him as not only God with man but as friend to friend. The story accounts of God with Moses, in their relationships with each other, are stimulating, encouraging, and inspiring. Even in the one case where Moses had to pay a large penalty in this life, for his mistake and sin, we find the truth that God is FAIR and judges with perfectness; that He is not a respecter of persons but deals with everyone on the same terms. CHILDREN AND SIN? Contrary to some Christian theology, children are not born inheriting sin from anyone. They do not inherit sins from their parents or from any other person in any age. Children are born SINLESS! And further more there is a time period (not specifically given or revealed to us in the Bible) when "children" are accounted by God as INNOCENT! There is a time period where God claims they have no knowledge of good and evil. Mark this verse, put it in yellow: "Moreover your little ones, which you said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day, HAD NO KNOWLEDGE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL, they shall go there, and unto them will I give it (the promised land), and they shall possess it" (Deuteronomy 1:39). Yes, as we often say with our new born ones and little children, "How lovely and innocent they are." AND IT IS TRUE! Praise the Lord He does not hold our little ones as automatically inheriting sin. When David said, "Behold I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me" (Ps.51:5), he was not meaning the baby in the womb had inherited sin from its parents or from Adam and Eve or anyone. He was simply telling us that sin was all around in the world as children are conceived and born into this world. He was telling us that being born as human flesh and blood meant that he was also going to have human nature as his parents had, which nature COULD sin at some point. David's words do not contradict the words of Deuteronomy 1:39). Babies and small children are SINLESS up to the time they sin. Babies and small children have no knowledge of good and evil at first in their lives. Shall we say, yes I will, at first human nature is in NEUTRAL GEAR! It is INNOCENT until the gear shift moves into first gear - until the child knows good from evil and then chooses to do evil or sin. Some knowing this truth of the Bible and also believing the immortality of the soul teaching, will say the little baby or small child, not knowing good and evil, is IN HEAVEN if they die not knowing good and evil. NO! It is not so! First the teaching of the immortal soul is a false teaching, not taught in the Bible. There are in-depth studies on this Website showing you what the Bible teaches about death and what happens at death. Second, it is written there is no name under heaven by which a person can be saved except through Christ Jesus (Acts 4:12). Everyone must go through the ONLY WAY to salvation before they can be in the immortal Kingdom of God. On this Website you will find many studies expounding the PLAN of Salvation for all humans conceived. As I write this, it is the Last Great Day Feast for this year of 2008. This Feast pictures the BILLIONS who have never had a chance to know Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Hundreds of Millions have lived and died never hearing the Gospel message, never hearing about Jesus as Savior. Hundreds of millions have been deceived into following the Islamic religion or whatever other false religion is out there in the world. Those people REFUSE to open up the Bible, they refuse to know anything about Christ Jesus. There are millions in our Western world that have never read one verse of the Bible. I worked once with a young man, in his late 20s, and he told me he had never read one word of the Bible. This Last Great Feast Day is picturing the time of the SECOND RESURRECTION, when BILLIONS will be raised from the dead and will be given the books (the Bible books) to OPEN and read. They will be offered the book of LIFE. They will be given their very FIRST chance to come to understand God's salvation ONLY through Jesus Christ. This Feast Day is announced to us in Revelation 20:11-14. And when ALL will have been offered salvation, then the end will come. Death, physical death will be cast into the lake of fire. All who just will not accept Salvation God's way (only through Christ) will face the second death, and will be no more. Then this plan of salvation for physical humans will be complete. The new earth and the new heaven will come. The holy city Jerusalem above will come to earth. And: "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will DWELL with them, and they shall be His people, and He shall be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away....He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son" (Revelation 21:3-7). What wonderful verses; what great TRUTH and PROMISES are in the pages of the Bible. You parents who have lost a baby, or lost a child in death, I can tell you that YOU WILL SEE THEM AGAIN!! GOD KNOWS WHO THEY ARE, HE HAS A RECORD OF THEM, THEY ARE NOT GONE BUT FOR A PRESENT WHILE. IN GOD'S TIME PLAN THEY WILL RISE AGAIN IN A RESURRECTION, AND WILL BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO OPEN THE BOOKS OF THE BIBLE AND THE BOOK OF LIFE! PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS WONDERS AND PROMISES! SO IT IS WRITTEN AND SO IT WILL COME TO PASS! ................... To be continued Written and Entered on this Website, on the Last Great Feast Day 2008 |
