JOHN 8

LAST GREAT FEAST DAY

Because many have missed the truth about John 7:37 (which is found in the writings of the Jewish Christian scholar Edersheim [who is pretty well the expert on Jewish things]), they have then also missed the truth of John 8, 9, 10:1-21.

It was the next day (8:1-2) - the day after the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles. Jesus was back in the Temple; yes He would be for the "octave" Festival - the 8th day, as in Leviticus 23. The LAST feast of the Lord in the 7 months since the first feast of the Passover in the first month. Yes the Eternal has 7 feasts within 7 months - the number 7 being God's number for perfection or fullness or completeness (the 7 creation days of Genesis 1 and 2).

We notice the first thing mentioned is FORGIVENESS - the woman caught in adultery. Some try to claim it was not in the original MSS - not so, another error by many, proved an error in other studies on "How we got the Bible." 

This LAST feast has a HUGE meaning for hundreds of BILLIONS who will have lived up to the coming of the Messiah in POWER and in GLORY (called by many "the second coming). SIN and the FORGIVENESS of sin will be made available to them, as they rise in a physical resurrection (explained in detail in other studies on this website).

Then Jesus goes into a deep explanation that He is the LIGHT of the world. Those that will follow Him shall not walk in darkness. Verse 20 - Jesus was teaching in the Temple - yes it was the Last Feast Day of the God. Christ went on to say if people did NOT believe in Him - the I AM (v.24 - see my study on that important subject "Jesus the I AM") they would die in their sins. The book of Revelation talks about a SECOND DEATH - for all not found in the book of LIFE - chapter 20.

If people will continue in the words of Jesus (that were the words of the Father, as Jesus said He did nothing, said nothing, that was not from the Father) they would be His disciples and they would know the truth and the truth would set them free (v.31,32).

Searching and hungering for truth should be one of your greatest joys in life. Truly knowing truth is a joy to the heart and mind. When finding it you should be jumping for joy as the saying goes. It can be a small truth or a big truth. Eight should give you great joy. Years ago while looking through a Bible Commentary on a certain subject, my eyes fell on a small explanation of one word. It was the passage where Jesus said "Fear not little flock...." The Greek word "little" was in the double diminutive - meaning "little little" or Jesus was saying, "Fear not very little flock..." What an insight, the true disciples of Jesus would be the very little flock - not the huge mass of so-called "Christianity" in the world.

Jesus goes on to say that those who serve sin - practice as a way of life - who will not REPENT of living in sin, will NOT be in the Lord's house. But if the Lord makes you FREE from being in bondage to sin, you will be free indeed (v.34-36).

Jesus goes on to make it very plain that you are either of the Devil or of the Father in heaven (v.39-47). If you are willing to hear the word of the Father, to love it, live by it (Mat.4:4) you will belong to the Father.

If people will keep the sayings of Jesus (are you reading the Gospels?) then they will not die forever (as the Greek is) - as the rest of the New Testament shows, they will not face the SECOND death of Revelation 20 (v. 51).

Jesus plainly said He was the I AM (v. 58) - the I AM before Abraham, and He saw Abraham. The Jews had no trouble knowing what He was saying - that He was GOD, a member of the Godhead. And they took up stones to kill Him, for what they considered blasphemy. All about God and the Godhead is found in many studies on this website.

Chapter 9 is the healing of the man born BLIND! 

Billions have lived and died and never had SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS removed. They were NOT called and chosen for SALVATION in their physical life time.  And it is written there is ONLY ONE WAY to salvation and that is through Jesus the Christ. The NT makes that truth about as simple as you can get. Just reading the Gospels and you will see Jesus making that point of truth abundantly clear Himself. He is the ONLY door to the sheepfold. He is the way, the truth, and the life.

The spiritual meaning of John chapter 9 is profound, when you know it all took place on the LAST FEAST DAY!  PLease notice a key verse to prove this - verse 14, "And it was ("the" - not in the Greek) SABBATH DAY, when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes.

Oh think of all the BILLIONS DOWN THROUGH TIME, who one day will have their resurrection and their eyes will be opened to spiritual truth and the word of God, as shown in the last verses of Revelation 20 and here in John, on the last great feast day of the sacred calendar year.

Chapter 10 of John - Jesus is the good shepherd. He is the WAY into the sheepfold. Other sheep not of Judah and Israel, other sheep far and away, other sheep that have been in the far corners of the earth, without the knowledge of God and Jesus, living in total blindness to the truths of the Lord. Those sheep Jesus must bring - yet to come to the truth and light in Christ - yet to have their opportunity for salvation.

I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT BEING "CALLED AND CHOSEN." I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT THE "GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT" which is as far different from the fundamental Protestant idea as day is from night. I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT THE TRUTH OF "JUDGMENT DAY" FOR CHRISTIANS, which the Roman Catholics and Protestants have got wrong and messed up like so many other things in their theology are wrong and messed up.

YOU NEED TO FIND THE WONDERFUL TRUTHS OF GOD.
