JUST COME BACK FROM WATCHING THE NEW MOVIE "PHILOMENA" STARING JUDI DENCH.
IT IS A BBC MOVIE.
THIS IS WHAT THEY PUT UP AT THE MOVIE HOUSE TO DESCRIBE THE FILM.
The true story of one mother's search for her lost son. When she fell pregnant as a teenager in Ireland in 1952, Philomena Lee was sent to the convent of Roscrea to be looked after as a 'fallen woman'. When her baby was only a toddler he was whisked away by the nuns to America for adoption. Philomena spent the next fifty years searching for him in vain.
YOU'D THINK IT WAS SOMEONE'S THOUGHT UP STORY; IT IS QUITE REMARKABLE THAT IT IS TRUE. IT IS ALSO DISGUSSTINGLY REMARKABLE THAT IT IS TRUE.
IT ENDS IN A WAY THAT IS BITTER SWEET. SHE FIND HER SON.....BUT, WELL, YOU GO AND SEE THE MOVIE TO FIND THE FULL ANSWER TO HOW SHE FINDS HIM.
IT IS ONE MORE DISGUSSTINGLY HARD FACT THAT SOME "CHURCHES" AND SOME "CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS" PEOPLE IN THOSE CHURCHES, WILL ONE DAY HAVE TO FACE THEIR HUGE SINS THEY PERPORTRATED ON WOMEN AND CHILDEN.
IT IS PART OF THE SINS THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IS NOW HAVING TO DEAL WITH...... THE KEPT SECRETS, THE SELF-RIGHTEOUS ATTITUDES, THE LIES AND DENIALS IN CERTAIN PRACTICES IT HAS DONE FOR MANY PAST DECADES.
IT REALLY IS A WAKE-UP CALL TYPE TRUE STORY OF HOW OFF THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW A CHURCH CAN GO, IN ITS SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS MIND-SET, WHILE THINKING IT IS DOING GOD'S WILL.
I WILL BUY THIS MOVIE WHEN IT COMES OUT ON DVD, TO REMIND MYSELF HOW WRONG IN THINKING AND PRACTICE A CHRISTIAN CHURCH
CAN BECOME, WHEN SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS TAKES OVER FROM LOVE, KINDNSS, AND MERCY.
