RESURRECTION— A POINT OR TWO

 A  POINT  OR  TWO  ON  THE  RESURRECTION……

"YOU  DO  ERR,  NOT  KNOWING  THE  SCRIPTURES  NOR  THE  POWER  OF  GOD.  FOR  IN  THE  RESURRECTION  THEY  NEITHER  MARRY,  NOR  ARE  GIVEN  IN  MARRIAGE,  BUT  ARE  AS  THE  ANGELS  OF  GOD  IN  HEAVEN.  BUT  AS  TOUCHING  THE  RESURRECTION  OF  THE  DEAD,  HAVE  YOU  NOT  READ  WHICH  WAS  SPOKEN  UNTO  YOU  BY  GOD,  SAYING,  I  AM  THE  GOD  OF  ABRAHAM,  AND  THE  GOD  OF  ISAAC,  AND  THE  GOD  OF  JACOB. GOD  IS  NOT  THE  GOD  OF  THE  DEAD,  BUT  OF  THE  LIVING" 

(Matt. 22:29-32).

First  note  the  context. The Sadducees,  who  did  not  believe  in  the  resurrection  of  the  dead,  tried  a  trick  question  on  Him.  What  if  someone  was  married  ex-number  of  times  in  this  life,  which  wife  would  be  the  man's  wife  in  the  resurrection [obviously  the  resurrection  to  eternal  life].

Jesus  corrected  them  on  two  points  -  they  did  not  know  or  believe  the  Scriptures  about  a  resurrection,  and  they  did  not  know  the  power  of  God,  to  be  able  to  resurrect  people,  people  who  had  gone  back  to  dust  in  the  grave.

Jesus  then  taught  them [and  us]  that  there  is  NO  MARRIAGE  in  the  eternal  life  to  come [via  a  resurrection]  -  for  in  the  point  of  marriage  the  children  of  God  in  the  eternal  resurrection,  will  not  be  married  as  we  in  the  flesh  and  blood  time,  marry.  So  no  marriage  as  we  know  it  today  in  God's  Kingdom.

That  sometimes  kinda  shocks  people;  the  trouble  they  make  is  to  think  we  go  into  eternal  life  with  sex  hormones.  And  we  simply  do  not.  Sexually  we  shall  be  like  as  when  we  are  before  our  sex  hormones  kicked  in  at  puberty.  Did  we  not  enjoy  life  without  sex  when  we  were  kids?  Of  course  we  did.  So  in  God's  Kingdom  there  will  be  no  sex  hormones,  it  just  be  not  be  part  of  our  brain  etc.

Then  we  notice  Jesus'  teaching  here,  that  the  angels  of  God  are  sexless.  The  angels  were  created  sexless.  When  the  covering  cherub  became  Satan  the  Devil  and  one  third  of  the  angels  followed  him  in  rebellion,  and  became  demons;  they  were  still  sexless.  Nowhere  does  it  say  the  angels  now  demons,  all  of  a  sudden  had  sex  hormones.  THEY  DID  NOT!  

So  this  completely  DESTROYS  and  SMASHES  to  a  million  pieces  the  teaching  from  some,  that  demons  co-habited  with  physical  women  and  produced  "the  giants"  or  whatever  back  before  Noah.  That  teaching  is  demonic,  it  comes  from  Satan  the  Devil  -  it  is  totally  FALSE!  Just  out  and  out  FALSE!  I  want  to  emphasize  this,  because,  and  so,  women  do  not  have  to  be  scared  silly  about  marrying  a  man  who  is  really  a  demon  in  disguise,  no  matter  how  bad  or  evil  that  man  may  become.  

Demons  have  never  had  the  power  to  reproduce  through  physical  females.

Then  we  also  notice  what  Jesus  said  about  God  being  the  God  of  the  living.

This  whole  context  is  about  the  resurrection,  not  some  immortal  soul  that  goes  on  living  after  death.  Jesus  said  God  is  the  God  of  the  living  BECAUSE  there  will  be  a  RESURRECTION....  God  is  able  to  resurrect  the  dead,  and  that  is  why  he  is  the  God  of  the  living.
