Are you READY?

The Association of the Covenant People, Burnaby, B.C.

From the June "Thy Kingdom Come"

ARE YOU READY
TO MEET YOUR GOD?

BY HOLLY MILLS

"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not
the Son of man cometh." (Matt. 24:44).

Are we ready for our Lord's return? This may seem like a silly
question as of course, we all are, aren't we? I ask this question
only because we live in a world that lives very far away from the
Lord and it is constantly influencing us. God, though, does not
want us to live in this worldly system but to live holy and to be
holy. We cannot follow the worldly system and follow God at the
same time. It seems to me that the only way we can do this is to
have a change of heart. If we do not change our hearts we
flounder trying to live in two worlds. We cannot serve two
masters and have peace in our heart. "No man can serve two
masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or
else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot
serve God and mammon."(Matt. 6:23-25). This is a decision we all
have to make. The time is short and our nations are lost in their
sin. Choose wisely.

World events are bringing us closer and closer to destruction and
if it were not for the Lord's return to save His people we would
be destroyed. The world, including the earth itself, is in great
distress. The Word of God is being fulfilled before our very eyes
and only those who have accepted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour
and believe Him with all their hearts will be saved.
It is tough today when we see how the wicked seem to prosper but
their time is short and their reward is now whereas those who
believe with all their hearts and trust in the Lord have
their reward for eternity. King David said "Thus my heart was
grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I, and
ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless I am
continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou
shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to
glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon
earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast
destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good
for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God,
that I may declare all thy works." (Psa. 73:21-28). David in
verse 17 had gone into the sanctuary of God and then understood
the destiny of the wicked. He realized his part was not to ponder
on the wicked but to put his heart and soul and mind on God and
all that He was doing. This is where his strength came from. He
had a change of heart.

Are we ready? Have we had a change of heart? Do we really love
the Lord with all our heart and soul and mind? "Jesus said unto
him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Matt. 22:36-38). When
we truly love the Lord we have faith and hope, and because we
then trust Him we willingly follow His commandments. Do we really
have a relationship with Christ where we have changed our heart
or do we just think we have a relationship but behave the same
way we have always done?

Have we humbled ourselves before God or do we still want to be in
control? These are things I believe we must think about now as we
approach the time of the Lord's return.

The Lord is our righteousness. He died for us that we might be
saved if we would only accept His sacrifice. In the Old Testament
sacrifices of righteousness had to be made, "They shall call the
people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of
righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas,
and of treasures hid in the sand." (Deut. 33:18-20). He became
our sacrifice of righteousness. He has given us life through His
resurrection. This is a gift that we would be wise to accept.
Our Israel nations are dead. Our people are physically alive and
thinking and doing but our hearts are dead (hardened). We think
we can still solve our problems, we don't know that we are sick
and weak and desperately in need of a Saviour. "And you hath he
quickened [made alive] who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this
world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: ... But
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved
us. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together
with Christ," (Eph. 2:1-2,45). Will we be ready when Christ
returns to judge the earth? Which side will we be on, those who
love Christ and look forward to His return or those who want
nothing to do with Him. Prepare to meet thy God. "...yet have ye
not returned unto me, saith the Lord. Therefore thus will I do
unto thee, 0 Israel: and because I will do this unto thee,
prepare to meet thy God, 0 Israel ... The Lord, The God of hosts,
is his name."(Amos 4:11-13).

Let us be ready! "And I heard as it were the voice of a great
multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of
mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent
reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for
the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself
ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine
linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness
of saints." (Rev. 19:6-8)

WORD of God!

THE WORD OF GOD

By DON ROBSON

Recently, in our church, we had a visiting minister who pointed
out that the burning bush was not really burning but appeared so
because it was framed by the setting sun. I regarded this as one
more example of the clergy trying to destroy the faith of the
congregation by removing one more of the faith's foundations. In
discussing it with a fellow parishioner, she tended to agree with
me but added that she could not abide those people who accepted
and believed every word written in the scriptures!! I confess
that I am one of those; I think we are called fundamentalists,
although there may be many other adjectives to describe me (us)!
I presume that these non -fundamentalist persons regard the Word
of God as a smorgas bord from which they can choose according to
their personal beliefs or desires. But, how would one know what
to believe and embrace and what to reject and discard? Even in
the days of old, the same problem existed. Consider Isaiah 30:
8-11, "Now go, write it before them in a table and note it in a
book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: That
this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will
not hear the law of the Lord: Which say to the seers, See not;
and to the prophets, Prophesy NOT unto RIGHT things, speak unto
us smooth things, prophesy DECEITS: Get you out of the way, turn
aside out of the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from
before us." Doesn't that sound so modern? Tell us what we want to
hear!

Then, there are those who call themselves, "New Testament
Christians" They have rejected the whole of the Old Testament.
They forget that on those occasions where Jesus referred to the
scriptures, He was referring to the Old Testament. There is the
wonderful passage in Luke 24:25-27, "Then He said unto them, 0
fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have
spoken: Ought not!, Christ have suffered these things and entered
into His glory? And beginning at Moses and ALL the prophets, He
expounded unto them in ALL the scriptures (Old Testament) the
things concerning Himself." Even Peter makes reference to Isaiah
28:16, "Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion
for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone,
a sure foundation: He that believeth shall not make haste."
1 Peter 2:6, "Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture,
Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and
he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded." In fact, the
epistles of Peter are full of references to the Old Testament.
But, are Old Testament stories myths or legends? Stories like,
the voice from heaven, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased"; the casting out of heaven the sinning angels; Noah:
Sodom and Gomorrah: Baalam being rebuked by the dumb ass speaking
with a man's voice: Peter makes reference to these in his second
epistle. In his first epistle, He sums up the Old Testament in
these words, I Peter 1:19-21, "We have also a more sure word of
prophecy: whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light
that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn and the daystar
arise in your hearts; Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came
not in old time by the will of man, but Holy men of God spake as
they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

Still, some might say, you are using the Bible to prove the
Bible. Well, there are other fascinating proofs available; I
refer to the works of Ivan Panin who demonstrated in his books a
mathematical structure so complex that it could only have been
written by one author! And the structure was totally beyond the
scope of man. Also there is the study of gematria, which is the
science of assigning the numerical values of the Hebrew and Greek
alphabets to the text revealing hidden messages expressed in
numbers. Author Bonnie Guant has fascinated me with her several
books summarizing years of study. For example, she shows that the
name, "Lord Jesus Christ" in Greek has a numeric value of 3168.
Then, she proceeds to demonstrate how that number is found
expressed in the Great Pyramid, Stonehenge, Solomon's Temple, and
the geometry of our solar system. People tend to ignore this work
but it demonstrates the mathematical genius of the Creator,
reflected in all his works, including the Bible.

I think it is generally accepted that the Bible remains a mystery
to those reading it with a closed mind, but for those seeking the
truth with an open mind, it leaps to life and rewards us greatly.
Let Paul sum it all up, 11 Timothy 3:15-17, "And that from a
child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make
thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
ALL scripture is given by INSPIRATION OF GOD, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, or instruction in
righteousness: That the men of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works."

Organic Garden

From "Thy Kingdom Come" - May 2012 - a publication of the
Association of the Covenant People, Burnaby, B.C. Canada.

GROWING YOUR OWN ORGANIC GARDEN

BY RICK COUPLAND

There are many benefits to growing your own food, and the
benefits grow exponentially when your garden is organic. Eating
foods that are pesticide free and grown in nutrient-rich soils is
so much better for you, (the way that God had intended us to
eat), and you have the satisfaction of eating the fruits of your
own labour. Plus you are doing your small part to enrich
the earth around you. But, the most noticeable difference will be
the taste of the food. Once you have eaten organically grown
mouthwatering fruits and vegetables, I guarantee you will never
go back to store bought!

Growing your own food will not only be healthier for you, but
also save on your grocery bill. The cost of seeds is very little
compared to the cost of buying fruits and vegetables from your
grocery stores.

A garden does require a lot of work and effort to maintain. But
an organic garden should be therapeutic, and should be enjoyed,
rather than thought of as a chore. It truly is getting back to
nature.

When talking about foods that are organic, whether it be animal
(beef, chicken, etc.) vegetable, fruit, or herbs, we need to
understand what organic means. With animals, they must not have
been treated with antibiotics, growth hormones, or feed made from
animal byproducts. They must have been fed organic feed for at
least a year, and have access to the outdoors. Food is considered
organic if it hasn't been genetically modified or irradiated,
does not contain sewage sludge or synthetic ingredients and has
not been contaminated with synthetic chemicals used as
pesticides.

So what do we need to know about organic gardening, and how do we
get started?

The first thing to be considered is the choice of produce.
Research your crop choices; make sure they are ideal for your
climate and region. Plants that are adapted to your climate will
not only thrive better, but will require less care. First-time
gardeners might want to begin with easy-to-grow varieties, such
as beets, carrots, garlic, herbs, kale, potatoes, tomatoes and
zucchinis.

When considering a location for your garden, choose an area that
will have a minimum of six hours of sunshine, preferably as much
in the morning as possible. This will dry the leaves of the
plants quickly after the morning dew, which tends to help stifle
disease.

Start with a smaller garden, one that is an easy size to
maintain, allowing yourself room to expand in the future, if
desired. Loosen the soil with a shovel first, then a garden fork
or tiller 6 to 8 inches deep to break up all of the clumps. The
most important thing for your organic garden is to feed the soil
with nutrients that will in turn feed your plants. It is
important to remember that plants are fed by the microorganisms
in the soil, and that pesticides can destroy them. In an organic
garden, you are nourishing these microorganisms.
An alternative method is to build upon the grass, rather than
digging into it, creating a layered effect. Use newspaper as
the first layer, then straw, grass clippings, shredded leaves,
etc. All of these items break down to create rich, fertile soil.
No need to dig, just cut holes into it and plant right through
it.

Composting is an easy way to get your plants the nutrients they
need by continuously adding organic matter to the soil, rather
than feeding plants directly. You can purchase compost in bulk or
build your own compost pile away from the garden.
The 2 main components of a compost are carbon-rich "brown"
materials, such as those listed earlier in the raised garden, and
nitrogen-rich "green" materials, such as vegetable peelings and
fruit rinds, pulp from juicers, etc. (but no meat or dairy
products). Manure from cows, horses and chickens is also very
rich in nitrogen. The other two important ingredients are water
and air. Your compost needs to be kept wet, (but not dripping)
and air is absolutely necessary for the bacteria doing the hard
composting work. You will know when the compost is working,
digging into it you will find it alive with worms and your leaves
have turned to crumbly black material.

Keep the soil in your organic garden covered throughout the
gardening season with mulch, and once again grass clippings,
straw, leaves and shredded bark are ideal for this. Mulch
continues to feed the soil as it decomposes, preserves moisture
in the soil, and also blocks the sunlight from reaching the
weeds, preventing most weeds from coming through the surface. Be
sure to keep the mulch away from the plant stems as it can burn
the stems.

Plant mint or spearmint herbs around your garden to keep insects
away naturally.

Keep in mind this is just a general overview of organic
gardening. Some gardeners might prefer different methods than the
ones I've discussed. If you want to start your own garden, be
sure to do a little research on your own first.

For those people who can't grow a garden, for whatever reason,
make an attempt to buy organically whenever possible. Some foods,
such as fruits: apples, cherries, peaches, raspberries and
strawberries and vegetables: celery, potatoes and spinach are
foods you should avoid unless grown organically. No matter how
well you wash them, it is nearly impossible to eliminate the
pesticides they have absorbed.

..........

Note:

For sure if you are in the situation where you can have an
organic garden you should. Certainly organic foods are more
healthy for you; it is the way the Eternal God intended for us to
keep us healthy. And organic foods usually taste better, though I
have found some, such as recent organic strawberries I bought
were not very good in taste at all. We do need to keep in mind
that fortunately God did build into our bodies (normal healthy
bodies) the power for our body system to combat chemicals of one
kind or another. Some chemicals may indeed to natural chemicals,
and some are of human invention. Some health fanatics either do
not see this truth or they deliberately refuse to admit it. For
those who are in the situation of not being able to buy (for
whatever reason) organic foods, our basic healthy body can fight
off a certain amount of chemicals. There is much more to health
than JUST organic eating. You may be able to have a diet of 100
percent organic foods, yet if not obeying the other laws of
health (little stress, good exercise, enough sleep, relaxation,
enjoyable hobbies, peace of mind, contentment, smiling and happy,
pleasant working environment) you will still end up being
unhealthy, getting sick, and looking much older than your birth
age.

Raw Food Diet?

The Association of the Covenant People, Burnaby, B.C.
"Thy Kingdom Come" - July 2012

EATING RAW "LIVE" FOODS

BY RICK COUPLAND

Editor's Note: I love this article. We published it a couple of
years ago and since Rick is on holidays this month, I decided to
run it again. It so reminds me of thirty years ago when I was
beset by crippling arthritis and one of the things I adopted was
a raw food diet that lasted 14 months. I was rehearsing for a
musical production during a few months of that time and I was
worried that without my daily intake of other foods, I might not
have the strength needed for the rigorous practice. I had become
a vegetarian a few months earlier and that was a real change from
my daily intake of at least one steak. But, I needn't have
worried, I found I had more strength and I couldn't believe the
positive results on my body. Within six months, there was no
further arthritic pain and now, at 75, I thank God for all those
pain free years. I've told others with such pain about my
experience and they have had some success, perhaps I had more
because I was trying other things as well. And I was disciplined
all during that period. I am still a vegetarian and still like
some raw foods in my diet.
......

I have watched several excellent movies in the last few months on
a variety of health topics. Some of the titles include: Food
Matters, Healing Cancer from Inside Out, Simply Raw - Reversing
Diabetes in 30 Days and Raw for Life - The Ultimate Encyclopaedia
of the Raw Food Lifestyle. While addressing different health
issues, all movies agree that the proper diet can help us to
maintain our body's well-being the way that God intended.
What these movies are really preaching is the benefits of eating
a raw diet. Now the definition of a raw diet changes from one
person to the next, but the common denominator is eating fruits
and vegetables in their natural state .... uncooked. It usually
includes nuts, seeds, sprouts, fresh herbs and spices, seaweeds
and any living plant food deemed beneficial. Some people choose
this diet to stay healthy; others resort to it to cure a
particular disease. Along with no eating of meat, dairy
consumption is also usually eliminated. And sugar and white
flours are definitely a nono.

Proponents of this way of eating claim that raw food is the
medicine your body craves. You are feeding your live body with
live foods, which activates the healing process .... healing from
the inside out. This certainly coincides with what Hippocrates
proclaimed two and a half thousand years ago .... "Let food be
thy medicine and medicine be thy food".

Brian Clement, founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute,
states there are 4 major components in raw living food, which all
contribute to the healing and prevention of disease, (1)
hormones (2) oxygen (3) phytonutrients and (4) enzymes. When we
heat our foods over 110 to 120 degrees, we destroy most of these
4 components. When food is cooked, it becomes harder to digest,
and this causes a variety of negative effects on our system. Our
digestive system has to work overtime, our body becomes stressed,
and it is said to even affect our sleep each night .... we are
not able to reach that deep state of sleep that we love to awake
from. This usually leads to coffee and sugar in the morning for
an energy fix .... albeit a false energy.

The movie "Simply Raw - Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days" must be
seen if you are a diabetic, or you know someone that is. One of
the biggest causes of diabetes is sugar. Evidence shows that 20
years after sugar is brought into any culture, there is an
outbreak of diabetes. The average Canadian/American consumes 150
pounds of sugar per year. This movie begins with a quote from
the American Diabetes Association "Diabetes is a chronic disease
that has no cure". The movie chronicles 6 individuals, all
diabetics, who volunteered to stay at the Tree of Life
Rejuvenation Center in Arizona for 30 days. By changing their
diets to raw foods and juices only, they were able to reverse
their diabetes .... no more insulin .... no more medication. Raw
food creates an anti-aging effect .... Diabetes is an accelerated
aging process.

Wouldn't it be great if our medical doctors believed in and
promoted this type of healing! It certainly is the more Christian
way of living. Rather than popping a pill for every ailment, we
must realize that our body is a miraculous self-healing,
selfrepairing machine. If we remove the causes of disease, the
body's natural healing will take over.

Another benefit of the raw diet is it will keep you at your
optimal weight .... your body will be able to regulate and
balance itself. You will notice an increase in energy and
vitality, no more need for those afternoon naps!
One of the more nutritional parts of the raw food diet is eating
sprouts. Some sprouts, such as wheat grass, are 30 times more
nutritious than any organic vegetable you can eat. During World
War 1, the British Army sprouted beans to ward off scurvy in the
trenches. And in 1940, the United States Army studied their
usability as food during the war. Many people grow their own
sprouts. You basically soak the seeds for a day, drain and
continue to rinse once or twice a day for 3 or 4 days, allow to
dry in sunlight around the 5th day, then enjoy. If you are new to
sprouting, start with any of these, they are all very easy for
beginners: sunflower, almonds, lentil, mung.

If you're thinking that eating raw foods is boring and nothing
but green salads day in and day out, then take a look at some of
these (remember they are all raw and un-processed):
cinnamon-banana pancakes, soft corn tortillas, hearty chili,
almond milk, apple pie, mango coconut chutney, coconut enchilada
wrap, chocolate mousse parfait.

How can a chocolate mousse parfait be good for you? Well,
chocolate is actually one of the healthiest foods you can eat. In
fact, it is sometimes referred to as a superfood, which I wrote
an article about in the May, 2010 TKC. Unfortunately the
chocolate that you and I find in the stores today is mostly
sugar, along with a host of other harmful ingredients.
Researchers claim raw cacao, from which chocolate is made,
contains more antioxidants than any other food. Antioxidants
fight cancer, slow down aging and prevent cell damage. It is rich
in minerals, and contains more magnesium than any other food.
For more information on eating raw "live" foods, do a little
reading at your local library or bookstore, or search the
Internet for some recipes to get you started.

Food really does matter? Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and 1
don't have any medical training. I am just an individual that
researches information that other people have studied and proven
to be effective, and I just pass that information on to you.
......

NOTE:

Certainly some people with serious health issues can obtain good
results and even a cure from their ailment with a raw food diet.
Because they may have been living a physically wrong food
lifestyle for years or decades, the raw food diet washes out
impurities and brings the body back to balance.
Now as the article states "raw food" may mean different things to
different people.
I do eat a lot of raw foods: nuts, raisins, fruits, tomatoes,
carrots, lettuce, peas .... but to eat raw spinach, brachial,
turnip, cauliflower and the like, no I do not, some may, but like
eating raw potatoes, I find it not appealing. Some may like raw
eggs, to me it turns my stomach to even think about it.

I am not a vegetarian, but I also do not eat meat but maybe once
a week (if I was able to obtain organic meat maybe I would eat it
a few times a week), often though I will go for a month or so and
not eat meat. I do like salmon, and being good for you, I eat
salmon two or three times a week.

Some people can get way too fanatical on "raw food diet" and the
great health and strength man - Charles Atlas did NOT give it any
emphasis in his course. A balanced diet, a wholesome, organic as
possible, clean foods as given by God to ancient Israel, fruits
and vegetables (cooked or uncooked), nuts and whole grains,
organic cow or goat milk, tea, chocolate in moderation, molasses,
licorice, honey, and all the rest of good health laws (sleep,
rest, exercise) go together to give you vibrant health and being
and looking your true age, as opposed to your biological, birth
age.

I can do no more than give you myself as an example. Go to my
Youtube, the last uploads of myself preaching or singing, I'm
only months away from being 70 years of age on my birth-
certificate, but in actual health age I'm 50 and not 70 years
old. Your true age is governed by your physical health. I swim
like a healthy 50 year old, and people are amazed how fast I go.
I can still do a pull up jump hop into my stirrup to mount my
horse, like Roy Rogers always did in his young and middle age
years. My hair is still 90 percent present and 75 percent its
natural color, from the minerals I make sure I take each day. I
look and act and physically do things as a healthy 50 year old.
People knowing me in my working life never come close to guessing
my age.
Nope, all this is not from being on a "raw food diet" - I'm not,
I do like some things cooked. I have followed the Charles Atlas
course since I first got it when I was 14 years old (which is
still obtainable - see the Charles Atlas website) and followed
the clean foods laws of the Eternal all my life.

Our Foods are in TROUBLE!

From "Thy Kingdom Come" - July 2012
A publication of the Association of the Covenant People, Burnaby,
B.C. Canada.

OUR FOOD IS IN TROUBLE!

BY HOLLY MILLS

"Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the
fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy
vineyard, be defiled." (Dent.22:9)

"As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains
seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must
beaware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become
unwitting victims of the darkness." (Justice William 0. Douglas
from Common Ground, Issue 172 November 2005).

At the time of the mailing of this magazine we are in the middle of
summer and fresh produce is on the shelves of our grocery stores and local
markets. It all looks so good doesn't it; all fresh and
colourful, but how good is it really? Here in British Columbia,
Canada we look forward every year to buying fresh produce from
local vendors and from our Okanagan Valley that has the most
wonderful fruits and vegetables you can get, but is this now
under threat? I recently saw a news item on TV about a move to
grow GMO apples in our lovely Okanagan Valley. This new apple is
engineered so that it will stop going brown after being cut. "A
small BC company called Okanagan Specialty Fruits has just
submitted a request to Health Canada and the Canadian Food
Inspection Agency for approval of a genetically modified (GM,
also called genetically engineered) "non-browning" apple ... BC
apple growers stopped the GM apple from being field tested in
Canada in 2001. The federal agricultural research station in
Summerland in the Okanagan valley, an important fruit growing
area, was preparing to start field trials, but BC growers who
were concerned about contamination stopped them from happening.
"Many apple grower associations in Canada and the US oppose the
GM apple, including the BC Fruit Tree Association." (Taken from
website: http:///bit.ly/L5ZTwy)

Our food is definitely under threat. I can't help but think that
so many of our health problems and diseases are due to the
quality of our food. In the last 2 years I personally have had
one friend die of a brain tumour, and another childhood friend
who is terminal as well with a brain tumour, also a good friend I
used to work with died of cancer of the esophagus. The ages of
these 3 people are all around 62! There are a few more people I
have heard of by association who have died who are also in their
60's. This is too young. My sister-in-law's brother has a health
problem that the doctors cannot even diagnose. Our bodies are not
getting the nutrients they need and when you add on stress and
poor life styles it is hard for our bodies to be healthy. God
gave us truly amazing bodies and under the right conditions they
can function amazingly and heal themselves. This is what is so
scary about GMO foods, as they are truly foreign substances to
our bodies and add great stress when our bodies try to deal with
them.

In the January 2006 TKC magazine I wrote the following regarding
GMO foods: "I recently lecture by Dr. Pat Howard,  Professor of
Science & Public Policy, School of Communication at Simon Fraser
University, dealing with the Hazards of Genetically Modified
Foods. These foods have quietly been filling our grocery stores
for the past ten years. We have been consuming them with-out even
knowing it, as they are not labeled. Genetic engineering (GE) is
a relatively new technology. It is the alteration of the genetic
make-up of a plant or animal, usually by inserting genes from
another species. For example, GE canola, an ingredient found in
many foods, has been crossed with a soil bacterium gene to make
the canola resistant to certain herbicides. Other popular GE
ingredients include GE corn and GE soybean. Many more varieties
are currently under development in laboratories around the
world." (From: Do you know what you ate today? by The Council of
Canadians).

These foods are different from traditional plant breeding as they
are crossing the plant/ animal barrier. Dr. Howard said that
"this is a new science and the methods are not very precise and
therefore unpredictable." This is why when I heard about the
possible new GMO apple I was astounded. Who does this even
benefit? Most of us when we eat an apple eat the whole thing
before it gets brown and if it does we just cut off the brown bit
and eat the rest. Could it be that it is for the benefit of the
biotech companies who make these foods or for the restaurant and
food industries who want their food to look good! I'm sure it is
not for our (the consumer's) health!

Dr. Howard further stated that these GE foods are compromising
our immune systems and leaving us vulnerable to many diseases,
especially cancer. Genetically modified foods have not been
adequately tested and many scientists are highly critical of
them. Our food is in trouble. Many people are awakening to this
fact but it is a hard battle. GE foods are found in 7 out of 10
processed foods so they are good ones to avoid if possible. We
must do our best to follow God's food laws. He knows that we
cannot control all these things around our food but He gave us
the basis for the food that is good for us and He will guide us
if we follow Him. The light at the end of the tunnel is that our
lands will be healed when Jesus Christ returns. "And he shewed me
a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out
of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street
of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of
life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit
every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of
the nations." (Revelation 22:1-2).

Pertussis - whooping cough - alarming rise!!

In the USA and parts of Canada the rise of the number of people (in the thousands) is causing alarm in North America.

Babies are too young to be vaccinated, and they say you need 6 or so vaccinations or booster shots from childhood to age 18. Of course the medical world blames it on ..... people not getting the 6 shots to adulthood. But then that is not the end, as they admit the vaccine wears off. So with all that, does it mean you should be vaccinated for whooping cough all your life? Some in the medical world and drug companies would love it to be so.

Does anyone ask "With all the vaccinations going on, why do some of these common deseases come back every ex number of decades?"

The drug companies would love everyone to be vaccinated for everything every ex number of years; sure it would be big money in the bank for them. A guarantee of income just from vaccinations.

Of course the drug companies and medical world would never ask the question, "Would the mixture of vaccinations cause terrible effects in the long run?"

The truth of the matter is that you need to build (through good balanced healthy diet) a STRONG immune system. This with clean water and sanitation would solve most of the world's common sicknesses that either cause serious body troubles or kill you.

It is indeed the world following the health laws given by God to ancient Israel under Moses, that God said, "I will put none of these deseases upon you." Breaking health laws bring a kick that hits you in the place you really feel it and do not want it.

Now in today's world the sad fact is because the world does not follow the health laws of the Eternal we have a world where whooping cough comes back, and where vaccines under a certain very young age, cannot be given (IF we go with the idea that vaccines can prevent or cure whooping cough, which is another question all by itself).

It is sad to realize whooping cough is back and know doubt will kill more in the next months, some being just babies.

Mercola.com and "Suppliments"

Mercola.com has a good article on the facts of suppliments and what is REALLY dangerous to your health.

Of course the Medical industry wants to "poo-poo" suppliments and does not want you to know how dangerous some aspects of their industry is the real danger to your health.

Yes the medical world can do some wonderful things, that we truly need to be thankful for, but at the same time you need to know the danger from the same industry. The book "A Medical Heretic" by the late Dr.Mendolson with give you a great deal of the "rest of the story" (as the late Paul Harvey used to say on his radio bleep)  about the Medical World.

Suppliments ... yes I take about a dozen each day, all for specific reasons, some for the health of the prostate, bones, arteries, general body health, and some because of the diet I must stay on to avoid being over-weight (i.e. I no longer eat whole grain breads on a regular basis, so I take vitamin E suppliment, for vitamin E comes from whole grain breads). I take a garlic suppliment because galic is mighty good for you. Though I eat fruits and vegies, I still take vitamin C for general body health. I take a "D" suppliment because in Canada they say we do not get enough sun on a year round basis. I take a 50 plus vitamin/mineral suppliment, being over 50 years old. Minerals are very important, which most people do not realize. I think my hair is still 3/4 its natural color because of the minerals I take from a suppliment and from licorice I eat a few times a week (Molasses having lots of minerals). I take a "B12" tablet because they say B12 comes from meat, and I eat little of it, not for any specific reason, just not a big meat eater, I can go for months without meat and it bothers me not at all.

So for me suppliments are very important because of the diet I'm on to keep from getting over-weight. When I was younger I could eat 3 good meals a day (healthy variety meals) and not gain an ounce; after the age of 40 that was no longer the case, hence less certain foods and so hence more suppliments. For me hitting 60 was another step my body took, so even less certain foods and hence more suppliments.

Now that is me, for you it may not be the same, and you may not go through body metabolism changes at certain ages in life, then you may, as I did. So for me suppilments have become very important.

Wrong Fanatic "heath guys"

I work in the summer for "Horsesrcool" - a horse and pony camp, for children. This summer Diane (the owner) has a nephew (whose worked for 3 years with us) who has brought his friend to work with us also. The man friend is in his early 20s. He has been reading some so-called health guro on the Internet, and has adopted some diet practices that he's slowly been bring out among us as others ask him questions about his diet habits.

He has this crazy idea from this "heath guro" that milk (cow or goat) is wrong to drink and actually does us damage. Also from this "health guro" is the idea that all grains are wrong to eat (wheat, barley, oats and etc.).

When asked what was his basic diet he answered: meat (any kind), fish and shell whatevers from the sea, (any kind) fruits and vegetables, berries, nuts.

Now SOME I fully agree with - fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts; on the meats and fish he obviously has no clue about "clean and unclean" as given by the Eternal God. Okay I can see the ignorance of that truth not being a Bible reader.

BUT some of the crazy and silly ideas of so-called "health guro" guys and/or gals, are terribly misleading and totally FALSE!!

I have on this website MANY studies under "Health" which will BLOW AWAY the wrong ideas and teachings of some "health nuts."

In the decades before the 1960s, at least in England, where I was educated till I left for Canada in 1961 at age 18, we had WHOLE milk, organic milk, the cream rising to the top of the bottle. The famous first Mr. Universe - Charles Atlas, a physical body that won him twice "The world's most perfectly developed man" (then the contest was abandoned as the organizer said Charles Atlas would win it every time) . Mr. Atlas never used "weights" to develope his muscles, nor seriods. His body was symetric and powerful muscles that did not make him look like some freak of muscle mass. His strength was unbelievable - one feat, pulling the old steam train 100 feet with a rope. Mr. Atlas was still bending 6 inch iron spikes with his bare hands at age 66.

When it came to "milk" - whole milk, he taught in his "health and strength" lessons (which I still have, which are still being printed and sold today - see the Charles Atlas website) that you should drink lots of whole milk. He was strong on whole grains (no white flour products) and of course on fruits and vegetables and nuts.

I have followed his "health and strength" course since taking it at age 14. If you go to my youtube you can see the results of how I look today at age 70 - the proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say. Yes Mr. Atlas said you should get 8 hour sleep per day, and have a positive happy friendly mind-set.

For the normal person, if you want good strong health all your life, forget about some of the modern silly and unwise "heath guro" people; send for the Charles Atlas course. Follow the health laws of the Eternal God, clean and unclean food laws, all explained and expounded on my website.

Iraq - Violence - told you so!!

If you've heard the news today you will have heard about the 100 or so dead and the violence in Iraq,

When the two "b" boys - Bush and Blair sent the USA and British troops to fight in Iraq in the early 1990s I said it was a terrible mistake, even silly and stupid, as it would solve nothing in the long run, but would take many many USA and other Western soldier lives, which it did, not to mention the thousands injured and loosing bodily limbs.

The twoi "b" boys where foolish beyond belief, so-called educated men, leading two of the greatest countries ever in world history, but to put it bluntly.... brainless and led by wild emotions of the time, with no reasoning or common sense.

It was a classic example as to why God in His word the Bible says in prophecy our leaders are MAD!!

We have rejected God's word and though we have a "form" of godliness, we are not led by the Spirit of the Lord, but our own ideas and unwise reasonings.

Today's violence in Iraq, is only the start of Iraq being back to its past violent and secitarian fightings, as is the nature of different Arab fraction in some countries of the Arab world.

Killing gone MAD!

I was on my way home Friday evening after supper and after a good week at the horse and pony camp for children; I was tuned into the CBC radio program called "As it Happens" (on from 6:30 PM every Monday to Friday). They were interviewing a married man who had a young friend in another part of North America (who he'd met through work situations). His friend was in that movie house to watch the new release of the Batman movie. She had just texted him that late night as she sat there. He did not know till the next morning that she was one of the 12 that were killed by the actions of the crazed young man as he blasted the movie group with bullets.

The interviewer asked many questions to this man about his friend, whom he and his wife and others had come to meet, talk to and just get to enjoy and love, a young lady with large plans for her life and the work profession she wanted to pursue. He said she was bright, full of energy, outgoing, fun, level-headed, and just nice to have her in their company when they could all meet together (they were 2 thousand miles apart).

The words he used to talk about her, to answer the questions from the CBC interviewer, were touching, so much so I had tears in my eyes listen to it all.

My heart was aching, for all those directly involved in the loss of life in that movie-house that night.

I silently prayed for God's Kingdom to come, for the end of this age of sin, and deception, and madness to end.

Jesus said that before He returned the love of many would wax cold, and that deception would be so mighty that IF possible the elect would be deceived. The young man who killed and injured all those people, certainly had no love, it was cold as ice. Was he deceived by demons? Maybe, but he was certainly deceived by something.

It is now a world of great DECEPTION and a world where LOVE is waxing COLD!

WE HAVE SOME SILLY LAWS IN SOME OF THE NATIONS OF ISRAEL - able to legally buy an assault gun is one of them, which the guy did in the last few weeks leading up to his madness in that movie theater.

We here in Canada have no death penalty for anyone, even if they are a mass serial killer, police killer, child killer. We recently in Toronto had some gang battle during a local block party, two killed and many injured. There was talk on the radio etc. as to what could be done to help prevent such happenings. I thought .... bring back the death penalty to all who deliberately plan such killings.  Bring back a swift judgement of DEATH for anyone clearly guilty of planning and carrying out the death of anyone. But the Canadian Government thinks "capital punishment" for ANYONE is "barbaric" and just not what a nation in the 21st century should do to anyone. Some of our thinking is NUTTY and we are DECEIVED. That is the result of throwing God and the Bible out the window as most of our Western Israel nations have done.

We have some HUGE LESSONS yet to learn ..... the world will have to go through a time of trouble such as NEVER BEFORE experienced on earth, before Jesus can return to save the world from itself. But we sure need to keep praying "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy WILL be done on earth as it is in heaven."

My Horse up CLOSE

Some have enjoyed seeing my horse Goldie (Final Touch her registered name) doing the run at Diane's ranch in southern Alberta, Canada, and they would like to see my horse close up, so sometime during the summer I will video her in her full glory and beauty, and upload it to my youtube.

So be patient and you will see her close up with no saddle and also with my fancy parade saddle on her.

The greatest outdoor show on earth (Calgary Stampede) ended this evening. Was there to see the finals in the rodeo and all the other great things this highest prize money pay-out rodeo in the world offers. It was the 100th year of the Stampede, so some extra special things brought in, including Garth Brooks for a one night evening show - he flew up from his USA show to do this one-nighter for all here in Calgary.

They come from all over the world to visit the Calgary Stampede and the Canadian Rockies. The Canadian Red Coat Mounties did a superb show of horse drills that lasts about 30 minutes. They have all black horses, and stay sitting a trot for the whole time. Great precisions drills of all kinds. We also had a show called "Tails" - about the North American horse and the native and cowboy and ranchers that bonded with them over the last 100 years or so. A very fine trick roper from south of the USA border, three trick-riding young ladies, some music and songs of the West, and just a great entertainment from some of our local native tribe people.

The weather was super good for 8 days, sunny and hot, some rain yesterday, and most of the final rodeo events today done in the rain, but when you can get 100 thousand dollars for being first in your event, the cowboys do not mind the rain - the show must go on as they say, come shine or rain. So some pretty muddy clad cowboys we had, but still big smiles on their face, especially if you made it into the final four to go for that 100 thousand dollars. The cowboys get day money winnings also, in a scale of first, second, third etc. So all get something for being here. Oh yes and to be here you have to be in the top 20 in the world in your event. Yes Calgary Stampede is the biggest pay-day rodeo in the world.

So if you can, come sometime to the Calgary Stampede and the mighty Canadian Rockies.

What about ANGER?

The Bible does say "Be angry but sin not"!

There is a RIGHTEOUS anger, Jesus showed it when He threw out the money changers from the Temple who were making the house of God into a merchandise selfish business.

But that is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about anger that is NOT righteous, anger that is emotionally bad for you in a number of ways; 1. Anger does produce bad chemicals in your body; for a now and again righteous anger this will not effect in the long term your health. 2. Anger on a frequent basis or as a habit, as we say, "bursting out with anger over every little thing" - will effect the health of your body.

To OVERCOME the latter anger:

Admit you have it; this is like the alcoholic admitting he/she is an alcoholic. As long as I can remember from a small child, my Dad had this type of anger - bursting out in anger over little things. Even today he can show this type of anger now and again. I really do not think he ever came to see it in himself, for such anger can be so a part of you, you do not see it in yourself. Admitting you have this kind of anger is the first step to putting it away.

It has been said by some therapists that when you realize you are about to blow off with a qick anger, you stop and take a deep breath, counting to ten. Yes it can work. Eventually you teach yourself to not be quick tempered or blow out with anger over every tittle thing.

Being a happy person, up-beat, positive mind-set, appreciating life, and laughing a lot, helps a great deal to keep down the quick anger you may have, or as we say "being a quick tempered person."

Not only admitting to yourself you are a quick bad-tempered person, but putting yourself in the shoes of all those who know you, like using them as a looking glass, will help you put down quick tempered anger. Try to imagine what it must be like on the receiving side of a quick temper. You will then realize people will not like you and will not want to be around you. You will find yourself with very few friends.

Learn to be happy in your life in the different circumstances that may come along. Realize that getting angry over all the not so good things that life may throw at us, will only make that situation even worse and more unpleasant than it is - like as they say rubbing salt into an open wound.

If your a frequently angry person, and you know it is a very serious problem you have, you may have to get professional help as do alcoholics.

Like any bad lifestyle, sometimes professional help is needed to kick the habit.

Keeping our mind on good things, righteous things, happy things, virtuous things, taking time to relax with good soothing music, every day, as a way of life, will help you put away quick tempered anger.

The book of Proverbs tells you the folly and bad results of a quick temper. Read that book and take the lessons seriously.

Then of course you should be praying to the heavenly Father to give you power to keep under control bad temper, and give you the peace of mind and heart that He can give you as you desire to serve Him in spirit and in truth.

Pray with humility, pray knowing you are a sinner, pray to the Father that you have a problem and weakness with quick bad temper. Pray that He will give you the strength to put away being a quick and un-righteous tempered person. Pray for His love and peace to fill your mind and heart. He longs to give it to you.

People Like Us movie

Life is often strange, odd, twisted, and filled with human errors that take its emotional toll on human beings, who try to muddle through it all, and sometimes make it right in the end.

This movie "People Like Us" is based upon true events.

It stars four of some of my favorite actors: Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks (introduced to us some years back in the horse movie "Seabiscuit"), Michelle Pfeiffer, and Olivia Wilde.

Yes life sometimes is complicated for various reasons, as this movie brings out, but family can win out in the end.

Not a kids movie for sure, but teens and adults can learn some big lessons from it. Inspiring that family can win out in the end.

Visit with my Dad and Horse Camp

I had the last week of June with my Dad at Kelowna, B.C. in the fabulous Okanagan Valley.

This valley is semi-desert, but has the climate to grow fruits from cherries, to peaches, to apples and pears.

Many parts of the valley they have to use irrigation but the greenness and beauty stands out among the semi-desert hills.

My Dad had a stroke (a relative minor one) last December. The results makes me awe in wonderment at the brain God created us with. While his long term memory is still very good, his short term memory with facts, recollections, etc. is all mixed up at times. He will not remember what he did or said yesterday. He will often speak something that is jumbled and mixed up with things of the past. He knows he's in Kelowna then later thinks he's in Wales where we came from. He does remember people that were a large part of his life. But he's forgotten he once had a house in Kelowna and a beautiful garden he built and cared for; when I tell him about it he'll say "Did I...." He 's forgotten. For a while he thought an elderly lady who looks somewhat like my Mom (his wife who died in 1994) was "Mom" and will ask me "Did you see Mom today?" Then at times his mind for the present, the the moment, is clear and running smooth, for that present hour or two.

So the connections of the brain are mixed up now..... sometimes they are connecting pretty good, then they miss-connect and facts and places and events get jumbled up.

The brain is a marvelous invention of the Lord all by itself - you see how marvelous it is when the connection do not connect correctly.

The human brain blows away the idea of evolution if it is not deceived by the great deceiver - Satan the Devil, or by human nature that does not want to believe in a God, for then if you believe in a God, you must believe He has the power to write and preserve His word to us, that tells us how to live within His righteousness. Most people do not want to believe in a God, or do not want to think about Him, because they do not want to be told how to live according to His mind and rules ..... they want to do their own thing, live according to their desires.

While out with my Dad there was lots of rain, way more than usual to the north of Kelowna, which took out a bridge as a river flooded part of a town. The weather people were advising anyone going to southern Alberta (where I live) to go the "south route" back, which is a highway that runs along southern B.C. into Alberta. I had done this route about 10 years ago, but had forgotten most of it. In a few places you climb high up in the mountains and then reach the summit to see below you a valley of green and beauty..... awesome indeed. I drove by a Ranch called "The Old Cowboy Ranch" and they were selling farm eggs. I stopped and went in to buy a dozen. I discovered they had a "store" (they were also a public horse trail riding ranch) and found a great fancy cowboy shirt I bought. They got most of their fancy cowboy shirts from a company in the USA that I had never heard of, but they sure make fine cowboy shirts for a very reasonable price.

It was lovely weather to drive in back to Calgary. As you arrive back in Alberta, you go through what is called "Crows Nest Pass" - it is a pass through certain hills and mountains; I had forgotten how beautiful it is .... just spectacular. Many people retire to this part of Alberta, to the small village type towns. I could see indeed as to why they do, for it is most beautiful. Then of course the Calgary area with the mighty Canadian Rockies only an hour away, is beautiful also.

Now the  summer is in full swing. The horse and pony camp ("Horsesrcool Horsemanship School" owned by Diane who is 5 years younger than I, making her 65) I work in during July and August is in full swing. We just finished the first week of 8 week camps. We are at a new Ranch location and have a smaller number of children each week, so making it much more a teaching and horsemanship camp, than just trail riding. We had 21 children in the camp last week, ages from 6 years old to teenage. They were a great group of kids, happy, and listened and learned real quick. The weather was sunny and dry all week. As usual on Friday lunch time I did my Roy Rogers/Sons of the Pioneers show, as the parents etc. come out to see how the children have learned horsemanship during the week. All were thrilled and  were delighted (fine comments passed on to Diane) with what the children had accomplished in just one week.

So two productive weeks for me - one with my Dad and one with the children at the horse and pony camp.
