Steve Jobs #1

I've already mentioned that the first chapter in the book Steve Jobs was about his childhood and how he came to think he was "special" and whatever else that puts in your mind when you think you have been chosen to be "special."

Well the Western world is propbably devouring the new book out on Steve Jobs - His Life and etc.
Some of you may not desire to read a 600 or so page book, so I'll post a little here and there about this now famous man.

We pick up his life as a College age young guy.

TWO ODD STEVES MEET

While a student in McCollum's class, jobs became friends
with a graduate who was the teacher's all-time favorite and a
school legend for his wizardry in the class. Stephen Wozniak,
whose younger brother had been on a swim team with Jobs, was
almost five years older than Jobs and far more knowledgeable
about electronics. But emotionally and socially he was still a
high school geek.
Like Jobs, Wozniak learned a lot at his father's knee. But
their lessons were different. Paul Jobs was a high school dropout
who, when fixing up cars, knew how to turn a tidy profit by
striking the right deal on parts. Francis Wozniak, known as
Jerry, was a brilliant engineering graduate from Cal Tech, where
he had quarterbacked the football team, who became a rocket
scientist at Lockheed. He exalted engineering and looked down on
those in business, marketing, and sales. "I remember him telling
me that engineering was the highest level of importance you could
reach in the world," Steve Wozniak later recalled. "It takes
society to a new level." .....
Woz's father taught him something else that became ingrained
in his childlike, socially awkward personality: Never lie. "My
dad believed in honesty. Extreme honesty. That's the biggest
thing he taught me. I never lie, even to this day." (The only
partial exception was in the service of a good practical joke.)
In addition, he imbued his son with an aversion to extreme
ambition, which set Woz apart from Jobs. At an Apple product
launch event in 2010, forty years after they met, Woz reflected
on their differences. "My father told me, 'You always want to be
in the middle,'" he said. "I didn't want to be up with the
high-level people like Steve. My dad was an engineer, and that's
what I wanted to be. I was way too shy ever to be a business
leader like Steve." .....

THE DROPOUT

Turn On, Tune In ...
Chrisann Brennan

Toward the end of his senior year at Homestead, in the
spring of 1972, Jobs started going out with a girl named Chrisann
Brennan, who was about his age but still a junior. With her light
brown hair, green eyes, high cheekbones, and fragile aura, she
was very attractive. She was also enduring the breakup of her
parents' marriage, which made her vulnerable. "We worked together
on an animated movie, then started going out, and she became my
first real girlfriend," Jobs recalled. As Brennan later said,
"Steve was kind of crazy. That's why I was attracted to him."
Jobs's craziness was of the cultivated sort. He had begun his
lifelong experiments with compulsive diets, eating only fruits
and vegetables, so he was as lean and tight as a whippet. He
learned to stare at people without blinking, and he perfected
long silences punctuated by staccato bursts of fast talking. This
odd mix of intensity and aloofness, combined with his
shoulder-length hair and scraggly beard, gave him the aura of a
crazed shaman. He oscillated between charismatic and creepy. "He
shuffled around and looked half-mad," recalled Brennan. "He had a
lot of angst. It was like a big darkness around him."
Jobs had begun to drop acid by then, and he turned Brennan
on to it as well, in a wheat field just outside Sunnyvale. "It
was great," he recalled. "I had been listening to a lot of Bach.
All of a sudden the wheat field was playing Bach. It was the most
wonderful feeling of my life up to that point. I felt like the
conductor of this symphony with Bach coming through the wheat."
That summer of 1972, after his graduation, he and Brennan
moved to a cabin in the hills above Los Altos. "I'm going to go
live in a cabin with Chrisann," he announced to his parents one
day. His father was furious. "No you're not," he said. "Over my
dead body." They had recently fought about marijuana, and once
again the younger Jobs was willful. He just said good-bye and
walked out.....
Brennan spent a lot of her time that summer painting; she
was talented, and she did a picture of a clown for Jobs that he
kept on the wall. Jobs wrote poetry and played guitar. He could
be brutally cold and rude to her at times, but he was also
entrancing and able to impose his will. "He was an enlightened
being who was cruel," she recalled. "That's a strange
combination."
Midway through the summer, Jobs was almost killed when his
red Fiat caught fire. He was driving on Skyline Boulevard in the
Santa Cruz Mountains with a high school friend, Tim Brown, who
looked back, saw flames coming from the engine, and casually said
to Jobs, "Pull over, your car is on fire." Jobs did. His father,
despite their arguments, drove out to the hills to tow the Fiat
home.
In order to find a way to make money for a new car, Jobs got
Wozniak to drive him to De Anza College to look on the
help-wanted bulletin board. They discovered that the Westgate
Shopping Center in San Jose was seeking college students who
could dress up in costumes and amuse the kids. So for $3 an hour,
Jobs, Wozniak, and Brennan donned heavy full-body costumes and
headgear to play Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, and the
White Rabbit. Wozniak, in his earnest and sweet way, found it
fun. "I said, 'I want to do it, it's my chance, because I love
children.' I think Steve looked at it as a lousy job, but I
looked at it as a fun adventure." Jobs did indeed find it a pain.
"It was hot, the costumes were heavy, and after a while I felt
like I wanted to smack some of the kids." Patience was never one
of his virtues.

Another book that deeply influenced Jobs during his freshman
year was "Diet for a Small Planet" by Frances Moore Lappe, which
extolled the personal and planetary benefits of vegetarianism.
"That's when I swore off meat pretty much for good," he recalled.
But the book also reinforced his tendency to embrace extreme
diets, which included purges, fasts, or eating only one or two
foods, such as carrots or apples, for weeks on end.
Jobs and Kottke became serious vegetarians during their
freshman year. "Steve got into it even more than I did," said
Kottke. "He was living off Roman Meal cereal." They would go
shopping at a farmers' co-op, where Jobs would buy a box of
cereal, which would last a week, and other bulk health food. "He
would buy flats of dates and almonds and lots of carrots, and he
got a Champion juicer and we'd make carrot juice and carrot
salads. There is a story about Steve turning orange from eating
so many carrots, and there is some truth to that." Friends
remember him having, at times, a sunset-like orange hue.
Jobs's dietary habits became even more obsessive when he
read "Mucusless Diet Healing System" by Arnold Ehret, an early
twentieth-century German-born nutrition fanatic. He believed in
eating nothing but fruits and starchless vegetables, which he
said prevented the body from forming harmful mucus, and he
advocated cleansing the body regularly through prolonged fasts.
That meant the end of even Roman Meal cereal - or any bread,
grains, or milk. Jobs began warning friends of the mucus dangers
lurking in their bagels. "I got into it in my typical nutso way,"
he said. At one point he and Kottke went for an entire week
eating only apples, and then Jobs began to try even purer fasts.
He started with two-day fasts, and eventually tried to stretch
them to a week or more, breaking them carefully with large
amounts of water and leafy vegetables. "After a week you start to
feel fantastic," he said. "You get a ton of vitality from not
having to digest all this food. I was in great shape. I felt I
could get up and walk to San Francisco anytime I wanted."
Vegetarianism and Zen Buddhism, meditation and spirituality,
acid and rock Jobs rolled together, in an amped-up way, the
multiple impulses that were hallmarks of the enlightenmen-seeking
campus subculture of the era. And even though he barely indulged
it at Reed, there being charismatic to being a con man," Jobs
said. "It was a strange thing to have one of the spiritual people
in your young life turn out to be, symbolically and in reality, a
gold miner." ...

... Drop Out

Jobs quickly became bored with college. He liked being at
Reed, just not taking the required classes. In fact he was
surprised when he found out that, for all of its hippie aura,
there were strict course requirements. When Wozniak came to
visit, Jobs waved his schedule at him and complained, "They are
making me take all these courses." Woz replied, "Yes, that's what
they do in college." Jobs refused to go to the classes he was
assigned and instead went to the ones he wanted, such as a dance
class where he could enjoy both the creativity and the chance to
meet girls. "I would never have refused to take the courses you
were supposed to, that's a difference in our personality" Wozniak
marveled.
Jobs also began to feel guilty, he later said, about
spending so much of his parents' money on an education that did
not seem worthwhile. "All of my working-class parents' savings
were being spent on my college tuition," he recounted in a famous
commencement address at Stanford. "I had no idea what I wanted to
do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me
figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my
parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and
trust that it would all work out okay."
He didn't actually want to leave Reed; he just wanted to
quit paying tuition and taking classes that didn't interest him.
Remarkably, Reed tolerated that. "He had a very inquiring mind
that was enormously attractive," said the dean of students, Jack
Dudman. "He refused to accept automatically received truths, and
he wanted to examine everything himself." Dudman allowed Jobs to
audit classes and stay with friends in the dorms even after he
stopped paying tuition.
"The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required
classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the
ones that looked interesting," he said. Among them was a
calligraphy class that appealed to him after he saw posters on
campus that were beautifully drawn. "I learned about serif and
sans serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between
different letter combinations, about what makes great typography
great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way
that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating."
It was yet another example of Jobs consciously positioning
himself at the intersection of the arts and technology. In all of
his products, technology would be married to great design,
elegance, human touches, and even romance. He would be in the
fore of pushing friendly graphical user interfaces. The
calligraphy course would become iconic in that regard. "If I had
never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would
have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts.
And since Windows just copied the Mac, it's likely that no
personal computer would have them."
In the meantime Jobs eked out a bohemian existence on the
fringes of Reed. He went barefoot most of the time, wearing
sandals when it snowed. Elizabeth Holmes made meals for him,
trying to keep up with his obsessive diets. He returned soda
bottles for spare change, continued his treks to the free Sunday
dinners at the Hare Krishna temple, and wore a down jacket in the
heatless garage apartment he rented for $20 a month. When he
needed money, he found work at the psychology department lab
maintaining the electronic equipment that was used for animal
behavior experiments. Occasionally Chrisann Brennan would come to
visit. Their relationship sputtered along erratically. But mostly
he tended to the stirrings of his own soul and personal quest for
enlightenment.
"I came of age at a magical time," he reflected later. "Our
consciousness was raised by Zen, and also by LSD." Even later in
life he would credit psychedelic drugs for making him more
enlightened. "Taking LSD was a profound experience, one of the
most important things in my life. LSD shows you that there's
another side to the coin, and you can't remember it when it wears
off, but you know it. It reinforced my sense of what was
important - creating great things instead of making money,
putting things back into the stream of history and of human
consciousness as much as I could."
..........

More at another time about the life of Steve Jobs.

Well we see from all of this that Jobs was not so much out of
step with all the Hippies, and John Lenin geeks of practice this
and practice that, seek this and seek that, have this fad and
that fad, experiment with this drug and that drug, bend your
mind this way and that way, with this thing or that thing. But he
was fortunate to meet the "other Steve" that had the tech
knowledge that would be so greatly needed by Jobs in creating his
Apple computer.

And it may have been those years of "strange" experimental
"diets" he got into that years later would maybe have contributed
to his body becoming weak and setting himself up for cancer.
Sometimes it is years later that our physical body shows the
results of our silly, extreme, and strange ways we get into
living, as younger persons. I cannot of course say dogmatically
this was the case, and the reason Jobs came down with cancer. But
I can say this: God never intended us to get into ways of
physically living that are to be blunt, stupid, crazy, fanatical,
and just darn out and out silly and imbalanaced.
......

Canadian MINES under fire!

Tonight on CBC news we were told about (which probably most Canadians do not know, I for one) the Great Canadian Mining Industry.

Canada has more "mines" worldwide BY FAR than any other country. That's the first thing I did not know.

Then came the news that the Canadian mining industry pretty well has nobody to regulate it or see that it is doing things correctly and decently and within human care.
So some individual people over the last number of years in different countries came forward to say they were beaten or raped by "security guards" hired by the Canadian company to "mine" - which meant in some cases moving people off the land - who did not want to move off their land - hence beatings and rape.

Now this got to where one member of the Canadian Parliament drew up a "private members bill" - got a second reading before Parliament......THEN like a snow storm came the LOBBYISTS... by the thousands, lawyers, "important people" - you name it, they came to support the mining companies. Such a private members bill becoming law, would have detrimental effects on the mining companies, and.....well I'm sure most of you know what lobbyists are all about - protect who they want protected so they can continue to do business as usual.

The bill was narrowly defeated, but it was defeated.

So what does the Canadian Government do next? They appoint a gal (in this case a gal) to run an office on the matter of what may not be "just the right thing" for the mining companies to be doing or not doing. She is given $650,000 a year. Been doing it now for TWO years and only looked into two complaints. Why only two?  Well would you believe the mining companies have to be "willing" to participate, if they do not want in on the "investigating" of the claim of wrong doing, they can just walk out any time or not even be part of it from the word go, just not co-operate period!

YOU TALK ABOUT THE CRAZY, SILLY, AND STUPID, AND DISGUSTING THINGS A GOVERNMENT CAN CREATE....AN OFFICE THAT HAS NO TEETH OR IS JUST POWERLESS, AT THE COST OF $650,000 PER YEAR.

JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF WHY GOD IN HIS PROPHETIC WORD SAYS OUR LEADERS ARE ***MAD***

..........

7 BILLION AND COUNTING!!

SO AS OF TODAY WE HAVE GONE OVER THE 7 BILLION POPULATION ON THE EARTH AND WORKING TOWARDS THE NEXT BILLION!!

The population of the earth has DOUBLED in less than 50 years!

It has only taken us 12 years to go from 6 Billion to 7 Billion ....... and think about all the abortions done in those 12 years.

The "expert" for CBC TV/Radio was on explaining in simple terms what this is - 7 billion. One example he gave was, if you could spend ONE MILLION dollars a day, it would take you 20 YEARS to spend 7 Billion.

He went on to say our population is a major problem, or getting to be so, for we do not have enough livable land on earth to put and keep everyone in good shape.

We are indeed living in the end times of this age, and we look forward to the age to come.
..........

Now talking about people, we need to talk about EDUCATION!  You need to go to my website under "Parenting" section and read the new study I've just uploaded: "The TRUTH about the USA Education system."

You need to know the FACTS as to what is going on in the USA when it comes to education; you need to know about the mindset that FAR too many have in the USA when it comes to modern so-called education. You need to know about some of the crazy and silly stuff that goes on in the education think-tank. One example (I could give you more): I had some years ago (about 6) a young lady of 14 years come to me for guitar lessons. One time she walks in  and her mind was somewhere else. I said, "Natasha (her real name) what's going on?"
"Oh, my parents have to bring in this matt teacher twice a week to help me get through the matt in school. If I do not pass it I fail my grade."
Then she went on to start telling me some of the matt.
"Natasha, you may as well stop," I said to her, "I do not have a clue what you are talking about. This is rocket science matt they are giving you at age 14. Do they not know not everyone can work for Nasa?"

It can be crazy and STUPID out there in the North American Education system!

The Truth behind Greece fall

THE NEW ATHENS

From the insights of Mark Steyn

MR DIMPLE: Believe me, Colonel, when you shall have seen
the brilliant exhibitions of Europe, you will learn to despise
the amusements of this country as much as I do.
COLONEL MANLY. I do not wish to see them, for I can never esteem
that knowledge valuable, which tends to give me a distaste for my
native country. - Royall Tyler, The Contrast (1787)

From the Times of London, May 6,2010:

The President of Greece warned last night that his country stood
on the brink of the abyss after three people were killed when an
anti-government mob set fire to the Athens bank where they
worked.

Almost right. They were not an "anti-government" mob, but a
government mob, a mob comprised largely of civil servants. That
they are highly uncivil and disinclined to serve should come as
no surprise: they're paid more and they retire earlier, and
that's how they want to keep it. So they're objecting to
austerity measures that would end, for example, the tradition
of fourteen monthly paychecks per annum. You read that right: the
Greek public sector cannot be bound by anything so humdrum as
temporal reality. So, when it was mooted that the "workers" might
henceforth receive a mere twelve monthly paychecks per annum,
they rioted. Their hapless victims - a man and two women - were a
trio of clerks trapped in a bank when the mob set it alight and
then obstructed emergency crews attempting to rescue them.
Unlovely as they are, the Greek rioters are the logical end point
of the advanced social democratic state: not an oppressed
underclass, but a spoiled overclass, rioting in defense of its
privileges and insisting on more subsidy, more benefits, more
featherbedding, more government.

Who will pay for it? Not my problem, say the rioters. Maybe those
dead bank clerks clients will - assuming we didn't burn them to
death, too. America and Greece are at different stops on the same
one-way street, all too familiar to us immigrants. There's
nothing new about Obama: been there, done that. Nothing could be
less hopeful, or less of a change. He's the land where we grew
up, with its union bullies and marginal tax rates and government
automobiles and general air of decay all re-emerging
Brigadoon-like from the mists entirely unspoilt by progress. It's
like docking at Ellis Island in 1883, coming down the gangplank,
and finding everyone excited about this pilot program they've
introduced called "serfdom." Greece is at the point in the plot
where the canoe is about to plunge over the falls. America is
upstream and can still pull for shore, but has decided instead
that what it needs to do is not just drift along with the general
current but paddle as fast as it can to catch up with the Greeks.
Chapter One (the introduction of unsustainable entitlements)
leads eventually to Chapter Twenty (total societal meltdown); the
Greeks are at Chapter Seventeen or Eighteen.

The problem facing advanced societies isn't very difficult to
figure out: the twentieth-century welfare state has run out of
people to stick it to. When you're spending four trillion dollars
but only raising two trillion in revenue (the Democrat model),
you've no intention of paying it off, and the rest of the world
knows it. In Greece, the arithmetic is even starker, because
they're at the next stage of social-democratic ruin. If America's
problem is that it's spent tomorrow today, and can never earn
enough tomorrow to pay for what we've already burned through,
nations such as Greece have a more basic problem: they've spent
tomorrow today, and there isn't going to be a tomorrow. To prop
up unsustainable welfare states, most of the western world isn't
"printing money" but instead printing credit cards and
preapproving our unborn grandchildren. That would be a dodgy
proposition at the best of times. But in the Mediterranean those
grandchildren are never going to be born. That's the difference:
in America, the improvident, insatiable boobs in Washington,
Sacramento, Albany, and elsewhere are screwing over our kids and
grandkids. In Europe, there are no kids or grandkids to screw
over. In the end the entitlement state disincentives everything
from wealth creation to self-reliance to the survival instinct,
as represented by the fertility rate. If the problem with
socialism, as Mrs. Thatcher famously said, is that eventually you
run out of other people's money, the problem with Greece and much
of Europe is that they've advanced to the next stage: they've run
out of other people, period. All the downturn has done is brought
forward by a couple decades the West's date with demographic
destiny.

The United States has a fertility rate of around 2.1 - or just
over two kids per couple. Greece, as I pointed out in "America
Alone," has one of the lowest fertility rates on the planet - 1.3
children per couple, which places it in the "lowest-low"
demographic category from which no society has recovered and,
according to the UN, 178th out of 195 countries. In practical
terms, it means 100 grandparents have 42 grandkids - in other
words, the family tree is upside down.

Hooray, say the liberal progressives. No more overpopulation!
Here's the problem: Greek public sector employees are entitled
not only to fourteen monthly paychecks per annum during their
"working" lives, but also fourteen monthly retirement checks per
annum till death. Who's going to be around to pay for that?
So you can't borrow against the future because, in the crudest
sense, you don't have one. Greeks in the public sector retire at
fifty-eight, which sounds great. But, when ten grandparents have
four grandchildren, who pays for you to spend the last third of
your adult life loafing around? Welcome to "My Big Fat Greek
Funeral."

We hard-hearted, small-government guys are often damned as
selfish types who care nothing for the general welfare. But, as
the protests in Greece, France, Britain, and beyond make plain,
nothing makes an individual more selfish than the generous
collectivism of big government: give a chap government health
care, government-paid vacation, government-funded early
retirement, and all the other benefits, and the last thing he'll
care about is what it means for society as a whole. People's
sense of entitlement endures long after the entitlement has
ceased to make sense. And, if it bankrupts the entire state a
generation from now, so what? In his pithiest maxim, John Maynard
Keynes, the most influential economist of the twentieth-century
social-democratic state and the patron saint of "stimulus,"
offered a characteristically offhand dismissal of any obligation
to the future: "In the long run we are all dead." The Greeks are
Keynesians to a man: the mob is rioting for the right to carry on
suspending reality until they're all dead. After that, who cares?
You don't have to go to Greece to experience Greek-style
retirement. The Athenian "public service" of California has been
metaphorically face down in the ouzo for a generation. As Arnold
Schwarzenegger, the terminally terminated Terminator, told the
legislature in his fourth State of the State address, "California
has the ideas of Athens and the power of Sparta." That's
half-right: California has the ideas of Athens. Unfortunately,
it's late twentieth-century Athens. As for "the power of Sparta,"
unless he's referring to gay marriage, it's hard to see what he's
on about.

Greek public servants have their nose to the grindstone 24/7.
They work twenty-four hours a week for seven months of the year.
It's not just that every year you receive fourteen monthly
payments, but that you only do about thirty weeks work for it.
For many public-sector "workers," the work day ends at 2:30. Gosh
when you retire on your fourteen monthly pension payments,  you
scarcely notice the difference, except for a few freed-up
mornings. Could happen in America right?......
..........

Yes it could happen in America, and Steyn goes on to tell you
where and how it is happening in parts of the USA.
So now folks you know more as to what's behind those poor-done-by
people who are protesting in Greece.

As one leader in the EU said just a few days ago, it was a huge
mistake to let Greece into the Eurozone money union. And if the
truth should be known, a huge mistake to let Greece into the
Europe Union of nations in the first place. Your in a war zone
Greece, and having your long distance marathon runner running the
26 miles to give a note to another Greek general that more troops
are needed if the battle is to be won, ain't going to cut it.
It's really time for Greeks to say, "Do not say what can our
nation do for us, but what can we do for our nation."

Syria Dictator should be next

So the Syrian dictator says if the West pushes its nose in, it will be another Afghanistan.

Well now, speaking as from the carnal Western world, now that Mad-Ghadfi  is gone, the West (USA, Britain, Canada) and Nato, should just go in with their space age tech machines and teach this big (tall) lolly-pop dictator, this vain, boastful, egotistical mad-man, a lesson in killing, seeing as his clones like to kill their own people. Time for the West to show him whose really still the boss, and who still has the firepower to blow him and his goons from planet earth.

So looking at it from how you leaders of the carnal mind-set of the West, should be looking at it, for you it is time to step up to the plate and hit this Syrian mad-dog right between his legs and put him out of his vain misery, and send him to meet Mad-Ghafi and bin Laden.

Time for the Arab nations to be LIBERATED so they can go on to fulfill their destiny in Bible prophecy. The world does not want to see the Kingdom of God come to earth by REPENTING of SINS and LIVING according to the Word of the Eternal (God's Kingdom could come to earth in peace) so it has to be the way it is written, it so must come in the scope of violence, pain, suffering, and death. The Arab nations must fulfill their prophetic place in end time prophecy. And all of that I have expounded to you in detail on my website as I went through every prophetic book of the Bible.

Time and prophecy marches on. You will see it all come to pass as I've said it will.

Let's look at China

AFTER AMERICA

The book by Mark Steyn - a BLOCKBUSTER - you need to read it!!

Here's a little that Mark says about China:

But, as noted earlier, when money drains, so does power-and very quickly, as the British learned after World War II. Today, money is draining across the Pacific. China Minmetals is a Fortune 500 company owned and controlled by the People's Republic. By the way, read that sentence again and imagine what an H. G. Wells time traveler from the early Sixties, from the time of Mao's Cultural Revolution, would make of it. Yet in the Fortune Top Ten there are three Chinese companies against two from the United States ... And China Minmetals is serious business: they own the Northern Peru Copper Company in Canada, and the Golden Grove copper, lead, zinc, silver, and gold mines in Western Australia, and the mining rights to a huge percentage of Jamaican bauxite. China's Sinopec bought up Calgary's Addax petroleum' and 9 percent of the Alberta oil sands business Syncrude, and have massively expanded oil production and development in Sudan and Ethiopia. China's Sinochem took over Britain's Emerald Energy. You remember all the "No Blood for Oil" chants back in 2003? Relax, it's our blood, their oil. The biggest foreign investor in post-war Iraq is the developer of the Ahdab oil field, the China National Petroleum Corporation.

Think of it as the first settlers did vis a vis the Indians: the ChiComs sell us trinkets in exchange for our resources. Lenin boasted that "the capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them." His fellow Communists in Beijing inverted the strategy to lethal effect: they sell us the rope, and sit back to watch us hang ourselves.

And, where money flows, power follows. Having turned resource nations in Africa into de facto protectorates, China has moved on to the developed world, and bailed out Portugal for $100 billion in exchange for significant stakes in their national utility companies. Beijing is also the biggest foreign investor in post-bailout General Motors: they bought 18 percent of the Obama administration's IPO in 2010. If the Obama-approved Chevy Volt isn't environmentally friendly enough for you, wait for the new Chevy Rickshaw. Can you still, as Dinah Shore sang, see the USA in your Chevrolet? The Chinese can.

Like America, China has structural defects. It's a dictatorship whose authoritarian policies have crippled its human capital. It has too many oldsters and not enough youth, and among its youth it has millions of surplus boys and no girls for them to marry. If China were the inevitable successor to America as global hegemon, that would be one thing. But the fact that it is incapable of playing that role is likely to make things even messier, more unpredictable, and far more destabilizing.

They have our souls who have our bonds. In their decadence, much of the western elite now think the answer to our worsening problems is not merely Chinese money but Chinese-style dictatorial government. If you support Bush's "Patriot Act," you're endangering civil rights. But if you support eco-totalitarianism, it's totally groovy.

In 2008, David Suzuki, Canada's most famous environmentalist, suggested that "denialist" politicians should be thrown in jail. Mayer Hillman, senior fellow at the Policy Studies Institute in London, thinks democratic dissent from conformocra-enviro-hysteria needs to be suppressed: "When the chips are down I think democracy is a less important goal than is the protection of the planet from the death of life, the end of life on it. This has got to be imposed on people whether they like it or not." If the people are too foolish to vote as their betters instruct, then it will have to be "imposed." The earth is your fuhrer. James Hansen, head of NASA's Goddard Institute, agrees on the inadequacy of America's "democracy" (his scare quotes) and argues that (to quote the article he wrote for the South China Morning Post) "Chinese Leadership Needed to Save Humanity."

The New York Times' Great Thinker Thomas Friedman regularly channels his inner Walter Duranty: "What if we could just be China for a day?" he fantasized. "Where we could actually, you know, authorize the right solutions...." Ah, yes. "Authorize" the "right" solutions without all that messy multi-party democracy getting in the way: why, in Beijing, where they don't suffer the disadvantages of free elections, they banned the environmentally destructive plastic bag! In one day! Just like that! "One-party autocracy certainly has its drawbacks," wrote Friedman. "But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages. That one party can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century. "

Ooooo-kay. But, pardon my asking, forward to where?

When the New York Times' most prominent writer comes out in favor of dictatorship, and no one else in the smart set calls him on it, you get a glimpse at the very least of the scale of elite contempt for popular sovereignty and the republic's animating principles. In breaking faith with the American idea, the political class got everything wrong: they exported millions of low-skilled jobs but imported millions of low-skilled workers; they fund both sides of the war on terror out of a wanton hostility to domestic energy production that leaves us dependent on noxious oil dictatorships that use their profits to wage civilizational warfare. And, having gotten us into this mess, the way to get us out is "China for a day." This is the logical endpoint of a cocooned conformocracy: Big Government having "imposed" the problems in the first place, only Even Bigger Government can "impose" the solutions.

Never underestimate the totalitarian temptations of the smart set. We'll hear a lot more of that in the years ahead.

China will play a major role in end time prophecy, but not the way most would ever think. You need to study my expounding of the Biblical prophets on my website, and learn things for the future that even Mark Steyn does not know.

Taliban do it again!!

As I've said for 9 years or so, you cannot win against a Taliban mind-set that uses suicide bombers to kill you.

They stuck again at Kabul, killing 17 ... 12 Americans and 1 Canadian included.

When the two "B" (Bush and Blair) boys took Britain and the USA and others into a war in Iraq and Afghanistan, they were bonkers with wrong "spy-information" (even showing us satellite photos) on supposed weapons of mass destruction that Iraq had (which they did not - so the movie "Green Zone" was all about). And 9 years later with nearly 5,000 soldiers dead from the USA alone and 32,000 injured, missing body parts and many with mental disabilities, we think, or we are told that we have supposedly "won against terrorists" - someone has to be staying up all night thinking about ideas on how to fool us all.

This latest should in no uncertain way tell us the Taliban is well and healthy except when they kill themselves in suicide attacks to kill us.

The Taliban are still out there in those barren wilderness hills of Afghanistan; they wait, they pull back, they make us think they have disappeared; we move in, they pull back, they go to the hills they've lived in for decades and know like the back of their hand. They are patient, they wait, they plan, they circle like a tiger plans and circles its prey. The prey think all is well and there is no enemy, but the sneaky killer  sneaks around, just waiting and waiting for the right moment ..... then ..... it pounces, it attacks, with the deadliest attack possible ..... a bomb strapped to itself ..... and ..... 17 they take with themselves to paradise heaven, well they think they go there, to heaven (the enemy probably to hell or wherever the Taliban enemies go to in their theology) to enjoy a dozen virgin women in an eternity of sexual pleasure. I believe that is part of their fanatical religious teaching.

When will we learn you cannot win against such mad-men theology. When will we learn you cannot fight such men with such a mind-set, on and in the hills of wild barren mountains as Afghanistan has. When will we learn from history ..... the mighty Russian Empire tried it for 10 years and finally had to put its tail between its legs and remove its troops and go home. When will we learn that ivy league University guys like Blair and Bush do not have common sense logic in their brains, but are full of the vain "we'll kick some ass" mind-set, but could not see  any further than their nose, that after dropping the bombs, they'd have to go in with ground to ground, hand to hand combat, which the Taliban with "we'll kill you as we are willing to kill ourselves" are only all too well skilled in such combat.

So it goes..... 17  more killed .... 12  USA and 1  Canadian included .... more body bags and burials to attend.

Yes in this President Obama you are correct. We need to bring our troops home, we need to bite the bullet (that is a terrible but true pun) and get fully off the soil of Iraq and Afghanistan. We need to put our money and efforts into securing our borders and keeping the terrorist from killing us on our soil, but fighting them on their soil .... is crazy, and will only result in more of our young people coming home in body bags.

TIME TO LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!

Our Hope and Trust!

AS I SEE IT - OUR HOPE AND TRUST IN THE LORD

BY HOLLY MILLS

"Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our
Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope, Unto Timothy,
my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our
Father and Jesus Christ our Lord." (1 Tim. 1:1-2).

"The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in
times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their
trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek
thee." (Psa. 9:9-10).

We have such hope when we, who know Jesus Christ, put our trust
in Him. He is a place of safety in a troubled world. Actually He
is the only place that is safe. He is our solid Rock. When we
know this and believe it the cares of the world do not seem quite so
daunting because we know where we can put our trust.
Unfortunately we so often look everywhere but to the true source
of peace. Our real goal should be to put our faith and trust in
God. This gives us hope. We must strive to know the mind of God
and His purposes for this earth. Trust comes from faith, which we
gain by studying the Word of God. This allows us to know God, to
know His character, and to see His ultimate plan. Through this we
build trust and this gives us hope. Hope is so lacking in the
world today, as we do not know who to trust anymore. When you
can't trust in anything you feel that there is no hope for the
future.

"My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart commandments: For
keep my length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add
to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about
thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou
find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths." (Prov. 3:16). This is our hope. "But God, who
is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even
when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, by grace ye are saved, And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That
in the ages to come he might skew the exceeding riches of his
grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by
grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
(Eph. 2:4-10)

Our goal is to trust God and be obedient to His will and do good
works. Without this hope in Jesus Christ we are dead. It is
through Christ that we live. We live when we walk with the Lord
not with this world. We can trust Him and know that through Him
and the promises of His Word we are safe.
We must continually search the scriptures to understand what God
is doing and how He is speaking to us. So often when we feel
things are going badly we turn away from God and this is the
exact opposite of what we should do. We should draw closer to
Him. When we study God's Word we find that He is faithful and
just and that we can trust Him to see us through these difficult
times. "The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul
that seeketh him." (Lam. 3:25).

God has not forgotten His people, Israel, although we appear
to have forgotten Him. Our Israel nations have fallen into such a
terrible state that it appears that only the direct intervention
by our God can save us. We have become so brainwashed by what we
have been taught over the last 50 years or so that we have lost
the ability to see and think clearly. We have become apathetic.
It is only now that things are becoming very stressful and the
future so unclear that we have begun to pay any attention to what
is happening. We are now in a state of confusion and don't know
what to do. Our wonderful Lord knows all this and we must put our
trust in Him to bring us out of our confusion and back to Him. He
has given us His assurance on this. He will not forget us! "Can a
woman forget her suckling child, that she should not have
compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will
I not forget thee." (Isa. 49:15). Our hope is trusting in the
Lord.

"For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my
youth." (Psa. 71:5).

Outlook Bleak - Try Uplook!

OUTLOOK BLEAK? TRY UPLOOK

BY THE LATE PASTOR JOHN W. SHENTON

There is an old saying: "When the outlook is dark and threatening
try the uplook." This has proved true enough for hosts of people:
but it is a tragedy that we have to be compelled by dark and
threatening out look before we are forced to look upwards, beyond
ourselves and human devices for the help, the deliverance and the
perfect answer to our often self-imposed darkness. Why is it that
only in times of imminent disaster and looming doom do we turn
our thoughts upwards, singing: "0 God our help in ages past; our
hope for years to come"? Why do we not accept the reality that
God has more than a passing interest in us and our national
affairs? Why do we of His Family of Christian nations so often
resist the truth that He has already given us, His blueprint for
ourselves, and for comforting our Company of Nations, a blueprint
of national purpose, prosperity and peace. Even more; He has
committed Himself on His own Holy Word to see that this
proclaimed Purpose is carried forward to its consummation.

The first point we make is crucial, namely that God has a Purpose
for us, here and now on planet Earth; in the Isles of the West
and wherever else He has placed contingents of His Servant
People. It is not "up in heaven", where all is already perfect
there. God at this moment is dealing with us in our respective
homelands.

Secondly, take the statement from His family "Guide Book", the
Bible: "Where there is no vision the people perish." Some
translations read: "Where there is no vision the people go to
pieces" and "Where there is no vision the people do not cohere".
Do we see the point? A nation goes to pieces, lacks cohesion and
binding cement when it loses its vision, its sense of purpose and
mission. It loses its reverence for matters other than material
the things of God. This is nothing less than an assertion that we
are determined to go it alone, to have our own way, to cast off
His moral and spiritual restraint which in every case is imposed
entirely for our own good.

Where there is no vision! - no unifying National vision. No
binding cement to hold the whole community on course. Where do we
now look for such a vision? Are we going anywhere in particular
as a whole heartedly united people? Or have we sunk, from being
truly great, to become a much divided Hotch-potch, with
multiplying sectional interests to such an extent that even those
who have harped so loudly on "brotherhood of man" now, at the
drop of a hat, turn upon each other like animals. We have indeed
reached the hitherto unbelievable state where any one who tries
to prevent section from devouring section is screamed at as
"Animals", "Animals".

This has happened to what was once the "greatest world-serving
people on earth". Why? Because dark forces have been at work ever
since the days when Britain's Prime Minister, Stanley Baldwin,
proclaimed to a Canadian audience that the British Empire and
Commonwealth was not merely an economic relationship between
nations but that its real goal was the Kingdom of God on Earth.
Can anyone today think of any present politician of so high a
rank announcing his firm conviction in such a manner?
Alas! since then, forces have been at work to blind the
English-speaking peoples to their glorious vision. Instead of
purpose, there has been let loose the doctrine of permissiveness
in every walk of life. This has polluted the whole stream of
community life, in all its aspects. Few realize that to "do your
own thing" has no chance of securing the freedom which God wills
for His children. On the contrary it becomes degradingly
enslaving. This is the broad road to destruction which Jesus
Christ warned His followers would lead back to the House of
Bondage. This is literally the choice before our people: to
become enslaved in the toils of permissiveness and grinding
materialism; or to see and accept the vision of Life Abundant
which our Creator has planned for us. What, then, is to be the
deciding factor in all our lives - the Will of God or the will of
Globalism which, under the cover of unity uses decadence and the
selfishness inherent in man in its plans for world dominion.

To blur the vision is the constant aim of the enemy, as witness
the trash and trivia which the media churn out for the
demoralization of the people. A brave reporter on a television
programme once made his appraisal as follows, on five showings:
"Poor, Poor, Moderate, Poor, Poor." If one ordered a meal in a
cafe and the waiter served up garbage, one would at once inform
the appropriate authority. But what of a whole nation fed on
garbage, week in and week out?

Another dangerous factor in the downward slide is the powerful
forces at work to decry patriotism, that is, love of one's own
country and people, as social misdemeanors. A further powerful
influence wherewith to blind the judgment of the citizen is when
supposedly Christian leaders make Divine revelation appear
trivial, simply a mere form of selfdelusion.

The outlook is indeed bleak if there is no uplook. It is up to
each one of us to rediscover the unifying, inspiring vision which
has carried the Servant People along. This is patriotism in its
highest form. This sublime Code is set out in our Book of
Instructions - the Bible. This is the book which Wycliffe stated
"was for the Government of the people". We can relate its message
to our history and see how God has developed a people for His
purposes for mankind from the very founding fathers of our
people: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. "This people", God says, -
"have I for Myself; they shall show forth My Praise." At Sinai
they were brought to nationhood and constituted as the very core
of His Kingdom on earth. A National Constitution, Statutes and
judgments were there given to them as their national code of
living. This incomparable body of Divine Law, has been constantly
under attack, recalling God's warnings to His people: "See, I
have set before you Life and Death: choose Life." The keeping of
God's laws is the only way to life.

Through all the changing scenes of the centuries, the moral,
spiritual and material Divine Laws have held good for nations and
individuals who followed them. God knows what is best for us.
There are blessings in abundance for response to His Instructions
- every need met. And there are stern consequences when they are
disregarded. It is as simple as that. And it remains a matter of
choice, as we are now experiencing. Our leaders are causing our
peoples to break God's Laws in many ways. We suffer grievous
consequences thereby and these are piling up to such proportions
that they have already become unbearable. So threatening is the
future that we shall be compelled to seek the One Who,
thirty-four centuries ago gave the vision to our forefathers in
Israel. To achieve deliverance from their folly, our peoples,
with repentant hearts, must get back to their God-protected
highway of Destiny, there to demonstrate what it means to be a
people governed by Almighty God. Then, as His Word says, the
nations will "run to us" to examine this new-found experience of
a whole people united in reverent obedience to the Most High God.

It is sad for me to have to say it, but we have as nations gone
over the line of no return, until we have to be brought to our
knees by destruction and captivity, by our enemy lovers. Yes, the
very people and nations we think of today as our friends, our
lovers, will be the nations that the Eternal God will use to
punish us to REPENTANCE. If I was given a full Western world
prime time TV slot, where hundreds of millions, and the leaders
of the Western world nations, would all tune in to see and hear
me. If I was given this opportunity, and shouted out our SINS,
and where and how we needed to be AT-ONE again with our God and
His Son Christ Jesus, you can bet your life on it, I would be
LAUGHED at, called a FANATIC, I would be branded a hate-monger of
this freedom or that person/s. The leaders of our nations would
be sending the padded van to put me in a padded cell in a padded
mental hospital.
The truths of God are on my website, you can find them, read
about them. To now think that today in the year 2011, any Western
nation would take those truths seriously and REPENT of SIN and
CHANGE to LIVE in harmony with the LAWS of God, is just a dream
of smoke that has no body of reality to it at all.

No Other Religion!

NO OTHER RELIGION

BY ROBERT B. MACDORMAND

In the midst of the turmoil in the world we have the answer to
the world's problems. It is simple. We are to follow one person,
Jesus Christ, and not turn aside and follow anyone else. There
are many other voices in the world besides His, but His words are
life to us. Any words that do not agree with His words will bring
death.

There was one Remembrance Day service I remember very well. There
were members of the Canadian military there, veterans, cadets,
members of the scouting movement, police officers, political
leaders and the general public. A Protestant minister spoke at
the assembly. Most of his sermon I agreed with. He spoke about
the history of the Canadian military in various wars of the past
and the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. He stressed the need for
peace as much as possible between us and the Muslims, with which
I would agree. However, he said something I could not agree with.
He called Islam "our sister religion".

I believe that statement goes against what the Bible says.
We must not water down our faith by accepting humanistic
teaching. We are not all the same. There is a sharp division
between Christians and the rest of the world. Christianity has no
sister religions. Islam, Judaism, and the other non-Christian
religions do not have the keys to eternal life. Only Jesus Christ
has those keys. Non-Christian religions, and some religions that
call themselves Christian, believe in the same thing: working
your way into God's favour by religious practices and charitable
works. They hope to have eternal life because of their service to
God and man. The Bible, however, says eternal life cannot be
earned. It is a free gift given by God (Romans 6:23). We only
have to reach out and accept it by faith. Martin Luther preached
this message centuries ago. It is not by religious practices, but
by faith in the Son of God that we receive eternal life. Jesus
said "He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." John 6:47.
This is such a simple concept that even a child can understand
it, and yet most of the people in the world fail to grasp it.
Christians do good works and serve God because God is their
Father, not because they are trying to earn eternal life.
Our world is filled with wars. There are wars between nations,
between ethnic groups, between people at work, between
neighbours, between husband and wife, between father and son,
between mother and daughter. The list goes on to permeate our
world. This is the result of Satan's rule of the planet. In the
midst of this, Jesus says, "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they
shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5:9. There is a
misconception that if we accept all religions we will have peace.
This is a great lie. There can be no lasting peace in the world
until the entire world worships Jesus Christ. This will happen
when Jesus Christ returns.

Accepting all religions is a great error, but there is another
error that is even worse. It is the belief that all religions are
wrong, that there is no God, and that the way to peace is by
getting rid of all religions. Russia and China fell into that
error when the communists took over, and the bloodshed that
resulted was abominable. The histories of Russia and China are a
double witness against atheism. Atheism does not work. It does
not bring about peace, only oppression and cruelty. Russia and
China have never paid for their sins, but the day of reckoning is
coming. They are both building their strength at this time,
Russia by its oil wealth, and China by its economic dominance in
the world.....

As for the Israel nations, we are in over our heads and we will
be involved in the next World War centered in the Middle East. We
may be less than twenty years away from it with the unrest in
that part of the world and Iran's nuclear aspirations.
Nevertheless, we know that peace will come to this earth in a way
that the world does not expect. The divine invasion of the planet
is approaching by Jesus Christ and the angels, and his power is
beyond comprehension.

The Gospel of John and the words of Christ the Messiah are very
plain: there is no way to eternal life but through Jesus the
Christ. There is no way into the Kingdom of God but through the
one door - Christ Jesus. Jesus said He was the way, the truth,
and the life. He said He was the light, that no-one could come to
the Father but through Himself. There is no salvation in any
other way, but through Christ Jesus. It is just that simple. Now
you might be asking "What about all those who never heard the
name of Jesus, who knew nothing about Him; what about those who
never had the Word of God, the Bible presented to themselves?

Moses the Christian

MOSES, THE CHRIST

BY DON ROBSON

When I began to write these articles, my first was, "Abraham, a
Christian", because I was distressed that my church was referring
to Abraham as a Jew. And why should this upset me? We are giving
our Christian heritage over to the Jews, even though there was no
such thing as a Jew in Abraham's day. In fact, one could make a
better case for calling Abraham a Chaldean, since he was
domiciled in the city of Ur in Chaldea. So, again in my church, I
hear Moses and his forebears referred to as Jews.

So, who were the Jews? They were the exiles from the na tion of
Judah that were taken from Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar and
returned seventy years later under the decree of Cyrus to rebuild
the city and the temple. These Jews comprised a small part of the
tribes of Judah, Benjamin and some of Levi. And we know their
fate. After refusing to have Jesus reign over them, He told them
the kingdom was taken from them and given unto a nation bringing
forth the fruits. In 70 A.D., the Roman Titus came and destroyed
Jerusalem and the temple,, killing many Jews and scattering the
rest. So it should be easy to accept that Moses, his grandfather
Levi, and indeed Abraham existed long before Jews were known or
so labelled.

If the Old Testament was therefore not Jewish, what was it? It
was Christian! From the first verses of the Bible to the last
verses of Revelation, it is the story of Jesus Christ, first as
creator, then as bride of the nation Israel, formed at Mount
Sinai, and finally as Saviour, Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
Well, is this story not shared with the Jews? The returning Jews
intermarried with the local population compromising their
bloodlines but more importantly, they returned with the
Babylonian Talmud which stood/stands in contradiction to the laws
of Moses. Consider Matthew 16:6-9, "Thus have ye made the
commandment of God of NONE EFFECT by your tradition. Ye
hypocrites, well did Esaias prophecy of you, saying, This people
draw nigh unto Me with their mouth and honoureth Me with their
lips, but their heart is far from Me. But in vain do they worship
Me, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS
OF MEN." Consider also John 7: 19, "Did not Moses give you the
law AND YET NONE OF YOU KEEPETH THE LAW?" So,
the Jews corrupted the laws of Moses, departed from the Truth delivered
by Jesus and finally executed the Word of God made flesh. This is
fascinating indeed because all of this history was forecast by the prophets.
By the way, some of the Jews did accept Christ; consider John 8:30- 2,
"As He spake these words, many believed on him; then said Jesus to those
Jews who believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, then are. ye
My disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth and the truth
shall make you free."

Well, did Moses know Jesus? He not only spent a lot of time with
Jesus on Mount Sinai when he organized the constitution of
Israel, but he attended the marriage feast with the seventy
elders. Exodus 24:9-11, "Then went up Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and
Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel. And they saw the God
of Israel: and there were under His feet as it were a paved work
of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in its
clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel He laid
not His hand: also they saw God and did eat and drink." So, Jesus
took His bride, the nation of Israel, later to be divorced by
reason of idolatry. Again, did Moses know Jesus? Deut 34:10, "And
there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses whom
the Lord knew FACE TO FACE." When Jesus walked with the two
disciples to the town of Emmaus, Jesus referred to Moses. Luke
24:25-27, " O fools and slow of heart to believe all that the
prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these
things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning AT MOSES and
ALL the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scripture the
things concerning Himself." In one of His discourses with the
Jews, He mentioned that Moses wrote of Him. Deut 18:15 & 18, "The
Lord God will raise up unto thee a Prophet, from the midst of
thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto Him shall you harken; I
will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto
thee and will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak unto
them all that I shall command Him."

Are there other Christian signs in the Old Testament? You recall
in the new church there was a great debate about circumcision,
whether or not it was required of Christians. How about this Old
Tes tament text in Deut 10:16? "Circumcise therefore the foreskin
of your HEART, and be no more stiffnecked."

I will close this discussion with two descriptions of Jesus
Christ, one from the Old Testament and one from the New. From the
Old, Daniel 10: 5 & 6, "Then I lifted up mine eves, and looked,
and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were
girded with fine gold of Uphaz; His body was also like the beryl,
and His face as the appearance of lightning, and His eyes as
lamps of fire, and His arms and His feet like in colour to
polished brass, and the voice of His words like the voice of a
multitude." And from the New Testament, Rev 1:13-18, "And in the
midst of the seven candlesticks, one like unto the Son of man,
clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps
with a golden girdle. His head and His hairs were white like
wool, as white as snow; and His eyes were as a flame of fire; and
His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;
and His voice as the sound of many waters. And He had in His
right hand seven stars; and out of His mouth went a sharp two
edged sword: and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his
strength And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He
laid His right hand upon me saying unto me, Fear not, I am the
First and the Last. I am He that liveth and was dead: and behold
I am alive for evermore, Amen."

Now, we know both these are a description of Jesus because both
Daniel and John fell to worship Him and were not rebuked. As an
example of a rebuke let us look to Revelation 19:10, "And I fell
at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, SEE THOU DO IT
NOT: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the
testimony of Jesus: Worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is
the Spirit of prophecy."

I believe that the Jews feel as I do, but it is convenient for
them to allow the term Judeo-Christian to exist since it helps
blind the Christians to their inheritance. So, I take offence at
the term Judeo-Christian. We worship Jesus; the Jews do not.
We sanctify the laws of Christ; the Jews do not. We have the
sacred Scriptures including the Torah; the Jews have the Talmud.
I fail to see anything common, so I conclude this essay by
stating again that the whole Bible is Christian, telling a
coherent story of Christ from beginning to end and that MOSES IS
A CHRISTIAN.

Indeed the plan of God, the salvation of God, the good news of the
Savior of mankind and the Kingdom of God, has been from the
beginning. It has always been the same for anyone from Adam to the
return of Jesus to this earth, and so then all that will be in the first
resurrection at the coming of Christ in glory, will have been "Christians."
Many studies on my website prove that salvation for anyone has always
been the same, and always will be the same, no matter what age you
live in.

Fishy story and Women's day

ABC news tonight .... 84 percent of fish you buy in the USA is imported, only 2 percent is checked.

ABC investigation has shown a high fraud in selling fish in the USA is NOT the fish you think you are buying. And it does not stop with Supermarkets, it is just as high a fraud in Restaurants.

You can probably find more details about this subject on ABC website.
Hummmmm.....that is a true fishy story.

It's a day women can rejoice: The British Commonwealth has voted unanimously to change the law regarding who (man or woman) takes the British Throne. It will now be law that a male will NOT take precedent over a female. So it means if William and Kate have their first child and it is a girl....she gets the throne.

And as the Commonwealth leaders agree, in this world of the 21st century, inheriting the Throne of Britain should have nothing to do with sex gender.

So a good modern victory for the female.... yes indeed.

Here in Western Canada we are having a very nice sunny and pretty mild Fall so far. Here in Calgary we do not get earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, and snow can depend on the winter, sometimes a large amount, sometimes not much at all; length of the winter varies a lot as well, sometimes short, sometimes can be long, but in the nearly 14 years I've lived here, only 3 what you could call "bad" winters.

On a lighter note: The new 3D movie "The Three Musketeers" is a good fun fluff movie if you like that sorts of old world action. Yes went to see it, and yes a good fun movie.

Insulin and Dr.Banting

It was just about 90 years ago that Dr. Banting made history and "insulin" was discovered and extracted from a dog.

Dr. Banting was from Canada - Toronto - the FIRST Canadian to get the Noble Prize!

Now we are talking here of type ONE diabetes - not about the 80 percent of diabetic with diabetes # 2.

Insulin is a must for your body if you want to live. Those children or adults where their body does not produce insulin will die if they do not get it.

Dr. Banting and his discovery of insulin has saved THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of lives in the last 90 years, and is still saving lives.

YET, get this.....up to just a little while ago there was NO historic museum in Toronto to honor Dr. Banting and his break-through discovery. It was on CBC tonight.....people coming from around the world to Toronto would often ask the Medical world of Toronto where they could see the museum for the discovery of insulin. The answer for nearly 90 years was .... well there is NOT one!

Can you imagine..... Canada where have you been sleeping; this man is historic and his discovery is one of the good major break-through discoveries for people in the entire world, AND CANADA DID NOT HAVE A PLACE TO REMEMBER THIS DOCTOR AND SCIENTIST!!

That blows me away - but thankfully they do now have a museum in one of the Toronto hospitals - a space set side with the original desk, notes and etc. of this Dr. Banting, to remember and honor him for the discovery of insulin.

Well I guess as they say BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!!

About time Canada, about time!
..........

Europe comes through!!

Well time will tell how much they come through. They have decided on a three point attack and about ONE BILLION EUROZES to try and fix the economic situation, as it pertains to Greece and others like Italy, Spain, that could end up in the same position as Greece.

So Europe right now has given the world, especially the Western world, some hope that the West will pull out of recession.

Well on CBC tonight it is that Greece has defaulted (which a year ago it said it would not) and Europe takes 50 cents on the dollar of Greece's debt; then Europe will create $1.4 Billion as a reserve fund to prevent Italy and Spain from going down like Greece. There are other details that Europe banks must do also, to prevent a downward smash for the West. So everybody right now in the West is breathing with a sigh of relief.....well for now they are.

The real story of Greece I will post shortly as from Mark Steyn, and also the facts about China in more light than most news programs are giving out.

There are also other facts of life in the West that do not get much emphasis as well. Obviously the Western nations do not want to have you concerned about such facts....they want you to think all is pretty good, so you'll keep spending your money, to get the engine of economy for the West and for the USA moving and moving in an upward direction. As long as people do not spend like they did, the West is in big trouble, the USA is in big trouble. Obviously the USA and President Obama does not want to report each month that people are not spending, that unemployment is still above 9 percent, that the economy is slow and sluggish, and add to that certain other facts the West is facing in the next 20 years or so....they do not want you to have to think about, hence it gets little talked about, but from people like Mark Steyn.
.........

If you missed it like I did tonight ... about the coming science of the NANO world, the 3rd episode, then you can catch it on:  cbc.ca/thenatureofthings
It truly is mind-dumbing as to what this new science could means for the world in just about every area of life.

I walked into our large local books store Tuesday and right at the front doors ... stacks of the new book by Walter Isaacson on the life of Steve Jobs. And they had it on sale, a good reduction sale it was; 630 pages, hard cover; yes I bought it. Have read the first chapter, and it certainly looks like it will be an eye opener for most of us about the good, the bad, and the ugly, of the life of a man that brought us a revolution in the world of Computers and other things, that many of us do not immediately think of Steve Jobs when out mind goes to other things of the media world. But he was very much a part of about 5 other media things that are part of our normal 21st century life. The first chapter brings out how he came to think of himself, even as a child, as different and "special" - with a few "good talented tech men" by his side, he did accomplish special things for sure.

Europe holds the KEY! IRAQ movie!

If you are watching the news you should be gathering pretty clearly that it is Europe that hold the key/power for the world. What Europe does money wise for countries such as Greece, and just getting its house in order, financially and economically, will either put the world (especially the West)  in the safe zone, or send it down deeper into the economic black hole it went into in 2008.

The Beast of Europe with its iron and clay mixture, I'm sure knows it holds the key to the future, and hence Europe will be feeling the beginning of the power to hold in their hands.

What surprised me today was the fact that the news in reminding us again that Italy was not too far away from the position of Greece, also gave us the fact that Italy is the 8th LARGEST economic power on earth. I would never have guest that fact. But come to think of it, of course when the G8 meet, Italy is among them, so of course they had to be somewhere in the 8 largest economic power on earth. I was forgetting that fact.

Well indeed the world is looking with trepidation at Europe as they work among themselves to not only solve Greece's situation but the Eurozone and its unity as a power, as they begin to realize the power they now hold in the world.

Germany is THE most important player. Whatever Germany finally decides, whatever deal they make with France and Europe as a whole ... they have to go through the German parliament .... they have a process to follow, so it all has a ways to go before Europe finally decides the ultimate plan for its bailout as a unity of countries, which will then effect North America. Canada's finance minister has said today that Canada will be effect either good or bad in its economy, depending how Europe moves in its trying to figure the answer to Europe's money and economic problems.

Yes even in this hard difficult decision making for Europe, she will know that she has the power as what will happen in the world's economy, by the decision deals she will have to make in the next week.
..........

The decision of Blair and Bush to make war with Iraq, under supposedly true facts that proved to be fully and completely un-factual, a war which has extended now for about 9 years .... well part of the truth of it all came out in a recent movie called "Green Zone" (staring Matt Damon) which showed the lies, the cover-ups, and false information, that finally of course had to come out, that there was no "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq.

A movie I picked up in WalMart  yesterday (in their $5 bin) is called "In the Valley of Elah" staring Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron. Well first let me say it is VERY MUCH an "R" rated movie - and should NOT be watch BUT by ADULTS - hence I'm saying 18 years and older. But it is the sad truth based upon truth, of the DISASTER that this war has done to the minds of hundreds if not thousands of our young men and women. The mental state a lot of them come home in, besides the ones coming home with body parts missing. But this move focusses on the "mental side" of far too many of our young people when arriving back home. Yes it shows some of the horrid things of the war in Iraq, but the movie shows the horrid things that can go on in the lives of those returning from Iraq.

The movie is a Warner Independent Pictures - been out for a number of years, so you'll have to find it if not on line, in the $5 bins in WalMart.  It's not a pleasant movie to watch, it is raw, nudity, but the sad facts that such things take place in some of the lives of those returning from Iraq.

I do not know if Blair and Bush had taken any courses in the fallout to the human mind and body that such a war would bring back to our shores and lands. They were ivy league University guys but not ivy league in the results of such a war, then of course they were silly and vain enough to think it mwould be all over in a matter of WEEKS. Obviously all this ain't going to be publicized in any large way. The USA Government and USA armed forces really do not want you to know the nitty-gritty of what this kind of war can and does bring, mentally in fighting and mentally when arriving home.

It it a film that certainly helps you HATE war, and long for the age to come when nations will learn war no more - when nations will live at peace with each other - when the Spirit of God will be poured out on all peoples - when Jesus will reign as King and Lord over all the earth, and there will be peace on earth.

Oh how we should continue to pray "Thy Kingdom come, Thy WILL be done on earth as it is in heaven."

The Christian movie "Courageous"

This Christian made movie is showing in one of our regular Movie Theaters here in Calgary.

Just went to see it today.

It is truly awesome, wonderful, touching, inspiring, and you need to mark the name down and make sure you see it when you can. It will probably come out on DVD as did "Fireproof."

This movie is with the backdrop of the police department - the main characters but one are policemen in line of duty and family.

It is a movie that covers the different aspect of life, good, bad, and ugly - with courage as the main theme.

The actors are all unknowns, probably from local churches or church. The acting could not be any better done if Hollywood or Bollywood did it - superb acting.

Yes, there is action and the final showdown, so the kids will enjoy it from that stand-point, but nobody gets killed, but you have the gun fight and the fight between the police and the bad young guys.

All with an inspiring ending.......wow this is 5 star and 2 thumbs up......all Christians need to see this movie!!!!

Turkey hit again! And What since 2008?

The nation of Turkey has been hit again by an earthquake - 7.2 this time. It's a nation that has seen earthquakes many times. They now know (science does) that Turkey sits over a serious fault line and earth plates that move against one another. They thought they had buildings to stand up to an earthquake, you know the reinforced cement with rebar and etc. But the houses and buildings came crashing down like a house of cards. A 7.2 quake is a mighty huge and strong quake. They say up to 1,000 may have lost their lives and tens of thousands homeless. As in Haiti it is shocking to see the video and pictures on the TV news. I have never ever felt the earth move under my feet, so I really have no idea what it must be like, but indeed it must be frightening.

Such must be the end times as Jesus said before His return, we would have earthquakes, and famine, floods, and so it is happening it seems more and more. Thailand has the worst flooding in 50 years, and it continues, with not much relief in sight from it all. The crazy weather that Europe and North America has had in the last few years is unbelievable, certainly for the record books.
..........

We have come 3 years now since the 2008 money/economic CRASH. If you are like me, not really "into" the finance and money game as to knowing or even understanding how it all works or does not work since 2008. If you have read a few books on the subject like Michael Lewis' "The Big Short" - you will read all the technicalities of it all; you'll know the man knows the inside of it all as to how it works or does not work or how it will, if done certain ways, blow up eventually in your face; yet if like me most of what was written in "The Big Short" just went right over my head.....could not understand a lot of what Lewis was saying. I've just never been into the "money game."

Well if you are like me then what Mark Steyn has to say may help you see the overall of it, how it works or really how it does not work.

Quote:

What do we have to show for the political class' disruption of every field of endeavor? From education to energy, health care to homeowning, the Conformicrats bungled everything they touched. You can see the impact of the regulatory state in the structural transformation of the American economy. From 1947 to the start of the downturn in 2008, manufacturing declined from 25.6 percent of the economy to 11 percent, while finance, insurance, real estate, and "professional services" grew from 13.9 percent to 33.5 percent. Much of that last category is about the paperwork necessary to keep whatever it is you do in compliance with the Bureau of Compliance. Of the remainder, the financial sector ballooned in support of the Age of Credit, and real estate was the one thing you could always rely on - "safe as houses," right?
So how are those growth "industries" doing today? A headline from the New York Times:
Real Estate's Gold Rush Seems Gone for Good

Which is a problem. For all the novelty junkies twittering about the Internet age and virtual reality, the principal asset of most Americans remains the most basic of all: the bricks and mortar of their rude dwelling. For all the analysts proclaiming society's transition from manufacturing to the "knowledge economy," for the majority of Americans the surest way of building wealth at the dawn of the twenty-first century involved neither knowing nor making anything: you bought a house, and, simply by doing nothing but eating, sleeping, and watching TV in it, your net worth increased.
Not anymore. Dean Baker, of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, calculates that it will take two decades to recoup the $6 trillion of housing wealth lost between 2005 and 2010. Which means that in real terms it might never be recouped. In the early Seventies, the United States had about 35 million homes with three or more bedrooms, and about 25 million two-parent families with children. By 2005, the number of two-parent households with children was exactly the same, but the number of three-or-more-bedroom homes had doubled to 72 million. As the Baby Boomers began to retire, America had perhaps as much as a 40 percent over-supply of family-sized houses. As Mr. Baker puts it, "People shouldn't look at a home as a way to make money because it won't."
Oh. So what does that leave?
The "financial sector"? In the Atlantic Monthly, Simon Johnson pointed out that, from 1973 to 1985, it was responsible for about 16 percent of U.S. corporate profits. By the first decade of the twenty-first century, it was up to 41 percent." That's higher than healthy, but the "financial sector" would never have got anywhere near that size if government didn't annex so much of your wealth - through everything from income tax to small-business regulation - that it's become increasingly difficult to improve your lot in life through effort - by working hard, making stuff, selling it. Instead, in order to fund a more comfortable retirement and much else, large numbers of people became "investors" - albeit not as the term was traditionally understood. Like homeowning, it was all very painless: you work for some company, and it puts some money on your behalf in some sort of account that somebody on the 12th floor pools together with all the others and gives to somebody else in New York to disperse among various parties hither and yon. You've no idea what you're "investing" in, but it keeps going up, so why do you care? That's not like a nineteenth-century chappie saying he's starting a rubber plantation in Malaya and, with the faster shipping routes out of Singapore, it may be worth your while owning 25 percent of it. Or a guy in 1929 barking "Buy this!" and "Sell that!" at his broker every morning. Instead, in both property prices and retirement plans, an exaggerated return on mediocre assets became accepted as a permanent feature of life.

It's not, and it never can be. In Sebastian Faulks' novel "A Week in December," set during the great unraveling of 2008, the wife of a hedgefundy type muses:

"The essential change seemed to her quite simple: bankers had detached their activities from the real world. Instead of being a 'service' industry - helping companies who had a function in the life of their society-banking became a closed system. Profit was no longer related to growth or increase, but became self-sustaining; and in this semivirtual world, the amount of money to be made by financiers also became unhitched from normal logic."

It's one thing to have a financial sector that provides a means for wealth creators to access equity to advance economic growth. But, by the time you're using the phrase "credit default swap" without giggling, by the time you're trading not only in derivatives of derivatives but in derivatives of derivatives of derivatives (seriously), you're several links unhitched from any tangible reality. Tom borrows money from Dick, who turns a nice profit by selling Dick's debt to Harry, who covers himself against the risk of Dick's failure to repay by insuring the debt with Nigel, who mentions it over lunch to Peregrine, who writes it up in his Moneywatch column as a sign that confidence is returning to the markets. Only when Peregrine brings it up with Ahmed, the affable imam who lives next door, does anybody rain on the parade. The Prophet Mohammed, among his many strictures, enjoins the believers to have no truck with the frenzied infidel trade in Xeroxed IOUs. Which may be why (in the financial sector's in-house version of the demographic Islamization of Europe) the Age of Credit also saw shariacompliant finance plant itself in the citadels of the West.

We're in a worse state than Jonathan Swift's banker - we cannot reliably say who has our bonds and therefore our souls. Thanks to the packaging, repackaging, subcontracting, and outsourcing of even routine mortgages, millions of home "owners" have no idea who really holds their property or the terms by which they can be expelled from it. And nor do the banks. According to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, by 2010 the U.S. financial system "owned" more than 230 trillion dollars' worth of derivatives - or about four times the entire planet's GDP.

It was Polonius who advised, "Neither a borrower nor a lender be;" and America at the dawn of the Obama era was approaching that blessed state. A man who borrows $400,000 for a house he cannot afford isn't really a "borrower," is he? After all, by 2008 every politician agreed that the priority was to keep people in "their" homes, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus was soon calling for a "moratorium on foreclosures," which is a polysyllabic way of saying there's no need to make your monthly payments. In what sense then is such a man "borrowing"?

And the banker who loaned the 400 grand isn't a "lender" of anything terribly real, is he? Not in an era of banking as performance art. "We refused to touch credit default swaps," the author and investment adviser Nassim Taleb said. "It would be like buying insurance on the Titanic from someone on the Titanic." But a lot of people did just that. The Canadian commentator Jay Currie, waxing lyrical, put it this way: "If two people make a bet on the fall of a raindrop and each puts up, say, their shoes, the bet is a real bet. If they put up cash it is very close to a real bet. IOUs are not much of a bet. Someone else's IOUs? Still less of a bet. A good deal of imaginary money is going to money heaven, which is sort of like saying that your stuffed animal is dead."

Except that many people made real-world decisions with their dead imaginary money. You thought the house you bought for a hundred grand was now worth a quarter-mil and so you took out a home-equity loan to buy a camper or to send your kid to private school. Your stuffed animal has died, but you've still got a real vet's bill to pay.

And then, just to pile on, the government steps in to replace all that dead imaginary money with real (or realish) money. Having, in effect, colluded in the destruction of meaningful risk-evaluation, Washington decided it was obliged to act - not to prevent a Thirties-style "credit crunch" but to prop up an unsustainable form of mock credit that had led to the crisis in the first place. The state's response to the downturn was to insist that we needed to re-inflate the credit bubble. If someone punctures your balloon, you can huff and puff into it all you want, but you're never going to get it up in the air again. The Obama administration blew a trillion dollars of "stimulus" into the punctured credit balloon, and it flew out the gaping hole in the back, dropped into the Potomac, and floated out to sea.

"Borrowing," continues Polonius, "dulls the edge of husbandry" - and that goes double for government, whose husbandry is dulled in the best of times. The state spends too much. So the individual spends too much. The state hires too many people on whom it lavishes too many benefits. So those foolish enough to remain in the private sector have to pay for the benefits of the public sector, and fund both their basics (housing) and their baubles (plasma TVs) through debt. At the start of the Reagan administration, America was the world's largest creditor nation and its citizens had a 10 percent savings rate. Not today: By 2007, the average U.S. household had debts equivalent to 130 percent of income. Keynes' view of the economy derived from the premise that a government treasury was not a family purse, and so the state, unlike the household, could borrow to "invest." Now, the family purse has caught up: Governments and individuals alike borrow extravagantly - and to "consume" in the most transient sense rather than invest in anything meaningful.

End Quote
.........

Well I think to put it all in down to earth language it all means the Governmants and money finance people for decades were playing a fools game with fools money, pretending to you it was real money, so they could get you to overspend, while not telling you the game they were playing was putting money in their pocket, but eventually the money man would come knocking on your door, to tell you the game now had new rules, for money you did not have, and so for you the game was over. But by this time the money mess was so huge it broke the piggy-bank of nearly all Western nations.

Well again if you are like me you may have to read what Mark Steyn wrote above a few times also, to get the picture clear.

But one thing we do know is that all of that TRILLION or more dollars of so-called "stimulus" money did not stimulate much at all but the printing machines as they printed off the paper money. The USA still has over 9 percent unemployment, and all the politicians cannot agree on how to create jobs. We know the roads need fixing, the bridges need repairs, but somehow knowbody seems to know how to give the keys for the cement trucks etc. to Jack and Jill to cimb the hill and work to get fixed what needs fixing. I mean this is real simple you'd think: We have all this stimulus money to create jobs, like fixing the roads and bridges, we have the equipment, but knowbody in any kind of authority can figure out how to hand Jack and Jill the shovel or pick or keys to the cement truck.

And those in authority as supposed to be some of the most "educated" people in the land - I mean coming from some of the top ivy league Universities of the nation, but with the stimulated money they have, they cannot stimulate themselves to stimulate people back to work, for the stimulated jobs they know are there to strimulate the economy .... well for people to have the stimulated jobs so they can spend their stimulated pay-check back into a stimulated nation that is back at work again, fixing at least the roads and bridges of the nation.

We are so messed up, we are as much messed up in how to administer the stimulation money. It's like say pro Baseball players having all the equipment and bats, they have all the stimulated things but they do not know how to get the players out of the dung out and on to the field to get the game even started, let alone to the 9th inning. I shake my head, I shake my head, it's all just from planet Pluto (ya I know the scientists were stimulated to vote Pluto is no longer a planet, but that's crazy also, as you've got Jupiter as a gas giant with no surface you could land on, but Pluto is voted to no longer be a planet - maybe the authorities running the USA and the modern scientists came from the same ivy league Universities) - they're all puffy-putty headed Plutonians, who can't even land any of the stimulus money onto the hands of real physical solid people.
