Make BRIGHT...think RIGHT

Make Your Day Bright by Thinking Right
Don't start your day by supposin'
that trouble is just ahead,
It's better to stop supposin' and
start with a prayer instead. . .
And make it a prayer of thanksgiving
for the wonderful things God has wrought,
Like the beautiful sunrise and sunset,
God's gifts that are free and not bought. . .
For what is the use of supposin' that
dire things could happen to you,
Worrying about some misfortune that
seldom if ever comes true. ..
But instead of just idle supposin',
step forward to meet each new day
Secure in the knowledge God's near you
to lead you each step of the way, ..
For supposin' the worst things will happen
only helps to make them come true,
And you darken the bright, happy moments
that the dear Lord has given to you...
So if you desire to be happy and get
rid of the misery of dread,
Just give up supposin' the worst things
and look for the best things instead.

OBAMA...MAYBE IS A CHURCHILL!!

I'M  SPEAKING  AS  FROM  THE  UN-CONVERTED  WORLD.

JUST  FINISHED  LISTENING  TO  OBAMA'S   SPEECH  TO  THE  USA  AND  THE  WORLD  ON  ACTION  AGAINST  SYRIA.

HE  IS  CORRECT!  HIS  WORDS  I  WOULD  AGREE  WITH  FULLY.

OBAMA  IS  FINALLY  IT  SEEMS  GOING  TO  PUT  ACTION  INTO  HIS  WORDS  OF  IF  SYRIA  STEPPED  OVER  THE  LINE....USING  CHEMICAL  WEAPONS.

BRITAIN'S  GOVERNMENT  HAS  PROVED  TO  BE  A  PAPER  TIGER,  THEY  SHAMEFULLY  HAVE  PROVED  NOT  TO  BE  CLOSE  TO  ONE  OF  THEIR  GREATEST  LEADERS....THE  GREAT  WINSTON  CHURCHILL.

SOMEONE  ON  TV  ASKED  "WHY"  NOW,  WHEN  SYRIA  HAS  ALREADY  BEFORE  THIS  EPISODE,  USED  CHEMICAL  WEAPONS.

WELL  MAYBE  THE  PRESIDENT  IS  SPYING  ON  MY  BLOG [SEEING  THEY  SPY  ON  JUST  ABOUT  EVERYTHING  TODAY].  WHATEVER.....SOMETHING IS  GETTING  THROUGH  TO  OBAMA,  AND  IT  LOOKS  LIKE  HE  IS  GOING  TO  STAND  WITH  ACTION,  BEHIND  HIS  WORDS.

HE  AND  THE  USA  SHOULD  HAVE  TAKEN  ACTION  LONG  AGO.  THEY  HAVE  THE  PLANES,  THE  DRONES,  THE  BOMBS,  THE  FIRE-POWER,  THE  SKILL  TECHNOLOGIES  TO  BLAST  THIS  CRAZY,  HILTER  GUY  AS  DICTATOR  OVER  SYRIA,  OFF  THE  FACE  OF  THE  EARTH.

OBAMA  ALSO  SAID  THIS  ARAB  DAWN  INTO  DEMOCRACY  IS  GOING  TO  TAKE  MANY  YEARS.  HE  IS  CORRECT.  DO  NOT  EXPECT  THE  PROPHETIC  "KING  OF  THE  SOUTH"  AS  GIVEN  IN  DANIEL  11:40-45,  TO  COME  ANY  TIME  SOON.  YES  KEEP  WATCH  THE  ARAB  WORLD,  KEEP  WATCHING  FOR  EGYPT  TO  ONE  DAY  LEAD  A  UNION  OF  ARAB  NATIONS.  FOR  UNTILL  THAT  NEXT  MILESTONE  IN  PROPHECY  COMES  TO  PASS,  THE  END  OF  THIS  AGE  WILL NOT  COME,  AND  JESUS'  RETURN  WILL  NOT  HAPPEN.

LOOKS LIKE...PAPER TIGER OBAMA

SO  PRESIDENT  OBAMA  IF  HE  TAKES  ANY  ACTION  ON  SYRIA  THEY  SAY  HE  SAYS  IT  WILL  BE  "LIMITED."

THIS  GUY  HAS  DONE  LOTS  OF  TALKING [AND  TALK  IS  CHEAP  AS  THEY  SAY]  BUT  SO  FAR  I  SEE  NOTHING  BUT  HIM  BEING  A  PAPER  TIGER.

NOW  IF  OLD  WINSTON  CHURCHILL  WAS  IN  HIS  SHOES [OBAMA'S]  IT  WOULD  HAVE  ALREADY  BEEN  A  DIFFERENT  STORY.

FROM  THE  SECULAR  WORLD'S  POINT  OF  VIEW,  THE  USA  AND  BRITAIN  HAVE  THE  TECHNICAL  SUPERIORITY  BY  FAR  OVER  SYRIA;  THINGS  THOUGHT  OUT  CORRECTLY,  AND  THIS  SYRIAN  HITLER  AND  HIS  CLONES,  COULD  IN  SHORT  ORDER  BE  BLOWN  OFF  THE  PLANET.

AND  IF,  AS  SOME  ARE  SUGGESTING,  IRAN  IS  SOMEHOW  IN  CONCERT  WITH  SYRIA,  IRAN  ALSO  COULD  BE  EASILY  DEALT  WITH,  IF  THEY  WERE  FOOLISH  ENOUGH  TO  TRY  ANYTHING;  IN  FACT  YOU  COULD  BET  THE  STATE  OF  ISRAEL  WOULD  BE  MORE  THAN  HAPPY  TO  SEE  IRAN  GET  BOMBED,  THEY'D  PROBABLY  JOIN  IN  TO  HELP.

ONE  THING  FOR  SURE,  IF  IRAN  EVER  GETS  CLOSE  TO  HAVING  THE  NUCLEAR  BOMB,  THE  STATE  OF  ISREAL  WOULD  BLAST  THEIR  SITES  INTO  OBLIVION.

SO  FAR  THIS  OBAMA  GUY  HAS  DONE  VERY  LITTLE  FOR  THE  USA.....OKAY  HE'S  BROUGHT  IN  SOME  "OBAMACARE"  IN  THE  HEALTH  SERVICE,  AND  ALLOWED  WHOEVER  TO  GO  AFTER  SOME  OF  THE  WALL/FALL  STREET  GUYS.  THE  OVERALL  OF  IRAQ  AND  AFGHANISTAN  HAS  BEEN  A  DISASTER.....BUT  BUSH  AND  BLAIR  FELLOWS  STARTED  ALL  THAT  CRAZY  STUFF.  OBAMA  SHOULD  HAVE  PULLED  OUT  ALREADY;  THEN  HE  COULD  HAVE  ACTED  ON  SYRIA,  AND  SHOWED  THE  WORLD  HE  IS  NOT  A  PAPER  TIGER.

MAYBE  BEHIND  THE  CLOSED  DOORS  THE  USA  AND  BRITAIN  ARE  PLANNING  THEIR  MILITARY  MOVE  ON  SYRIA.  THEY  NEED  TO  BE.  IT  IS  TIME  FOR  THE  DAYS  OF  THIS  SYRIAN  DICTATOR  TO  COME  TO  AND  END.

RECENT movies.....

THE  NEW  SCIENCE-FICTION  MOVIE......"MORTAL  INSTRUMENTS - CITY  OF  BONES"

FIRST  VERY  GOOD  FOR  NO  BAD  LANGUAGE.

AS  A  SCIENCE  FICTION  OF  HUMAN/ANGLE  HUNTERS  OF  DEMONS,  I  FOUND  IT  VERY  GOOD.

LOTS  OF  ACTION  AND  OF  COURSE  SPECIAL  EFFECTS.

SO  FOR  A  SCIENCE  FICTION  I  RATE  IT  RIGHT  UP  THERE  WITH  OTHERS  OF  THAT  TYPE  OF  MOVIE.

OF  COURSE  A  LITTLE  OFF  BASE  WITH  HUMAN-ANGEL  TYPES,  BUT  CERTAINLY  ON  BASE  WITH  THE  TRUTH  THAT  THERE  IS  A  DEMON  WORLD  WHO  CAN  COME  IN  ALL  SORTS  OF  DISGUISES,  EVEN  AS  AN  ANGEL  OF  LIGHT  AS  THE  APOSTLE  PAUL  SAID.

THERE  IS  A  WORLD  OUT  THERE,  AN  INVISIBLE  WORLD,  OF  ANGELS  AND  DEMONS,  WHO  DO  INDEED  BATTLE  EACH  OTHER,  AS  WE  SEE  FROM  THE  BOOK  OF  DANIEL.
..........

THE  MOVIE  "WOLVERINE"  -  ANOTHER  SCIENCE  FICTION  I  ALSO  ENJOYED.

GOOD  PLOT  AND  GOOD  SPECIAL  EFFECTS.
..........

THE  MOVIE  THAT  SURPRISED  ME  FOR  NOT  REALLY  HAVING  VERY  MUCH  BAD  COURSE  LANGUAGE  AS  THEY  POSTED,  WAS  "JOBS"  -  THE  OVERALL  LIFE  STORY  OF  HOW  STEVE  JOBS  BROUGHT  APPLE  TO  WORLD  DOMAIN.

IT  DOES  NOT  GIVE  TOO  MUCH  ATTENTION  TO  JOBS'  ODD  HIPPY  TYPE  HABBITS  OF  FOOD  EATING,  AND  NOTHING  AT  ALL  ABOUT  HIS  CANCER  THAT  HE  DIED  FROM.  IT  FOCUSSES  ON  HIS  GIFT  AND  DRIVE  FOR  MAKING  THE  COMPUTER  BEAUTIFUL  INSIDE  AND  OUTSIDE,  AND  HIS  DRIVE  FOR  OTHER  SKILLED  PEOPLE  TO  MAKE  IT  SIMPLE.

IT  SHOWS  HE  WAS  VERY  MUCH  A  ONE  MAN  BAND  WHEN  IT  CAME  TO  BEING  IN  CHARGE.  HE  NEEDED  TO  HAVE  FULL  AUTHORITY,  WITH  NO  "BOARD  OF  MEN"  TELLING  HIM  WHAT  HE  COULD  AND  COULD  NOT  DO.  HIS  GIFTS  HAD  TO  BE  COMPLETELY  UNTIED.  HE  GOT  THAT  WISH  IN  THE  END  AND  APPLE  FINALLY  TOOK  OFF  LIKE  A  ROCKET  TO  THE  MOON.

IT  SHOWS  HIS  ANGER  ON  THE  PHONE  WITH  BILL  GATES  STEALING  TECH  STUFF  FROM  APLLE.

THE  LAST  WORDS  PUT  UP  ON  THE  SCREEN  WERE,  "IN  2012  APPLE  BECAME  THE  MOST  VALUABLE  COMPANY  IN  THE  WORLD."

I  HAVE  AN  APPLE  MAC  PERSONAL  DESK  COMPUTER  AND  WOULD  NEVER  WANT  ANYTHING  ELSE.

STEVE  JOBS  HAD  TO  DEAL  WITH  A  LOT  OF  PEOPLE  THAT  REALLY  GOT  IN  HIS  WAY,  FOR  MANY  YEARS,  PEOPLE  WHO  THOUGHT  THEY  KNEW  BETTER,  BUT  IN  FACT  WERE  NOT  ON  THE  SAME  PAGE  AS  STEVE  JOBS,  THEY  WERE  REALLY  CLUTTER,  THAT  FINALLY  GOT  SWEPT  AWAY,  AND  JOBS  AND  APPLE  WERE  ABLE  TO  MOVE  INTO  THE  WORLD  OF  STEVE  JOBS.

THIS  IS  AN  INTERESTING  MOVIE  ON  THE  LIFE  OF  STEVE  JOBS,  AND  HAS  MANY  LESSONS  TO  LEARN  FROM  IT.
..........

"CLOSED  CIRCUIT"  -  DID  NOT  FIND  THIS  MOVIE  TO  BE  ANYTHING  TO WRITE  HOME  ABOUT.  FOR  ME  JUST  NOT  THAT  DYNAMIC  OR  INTERESTING.

ONE  THING  THOUGH;  IT  SHOWS  THAT  GOVERNMENTS  HAVE  THINGS  BEHIND  CLOSED  DOORS  THAT  CAN  BE  SHOCKING,  SECRETIVE  AND  EVEN  DOWN  RIGHT  EVIL.

MAYBE  FROM  THAT  POINT  THE  MOVIE  IS  WORTH  SEEING.
..........

"BLUE  JASMINE"  -  STARING  CATE  BLANCHETT.

A  DOWNER  FOR  LIFE;  SURE  LIFE  HAPPENS  TO  PEOPLE  AND  SOMETIMES  THIS  WAY.  BUT  WHO  REALLY  WANTS  TO  BE  REMINDED  OF  LIFE  THAT  GOES  IN  BAD  CIRCLES.

DON'T  SPEND  YOUR  TIME  OR  MONEY  ON  THIS  ONE.  DEPRESSING!

THE  ONLY  GOOD  THING  ABOUT  IT  IS  IT  SHOWS  THE  ACTING  ABILITY  OF  CATE  BLANCHETT.
..........

"ELYSIUM" - A  SOMEWHAT  OKAY  SCIENCE  FICTION,  BUT  WAY  TOO  MUCH  BAD  LANGUAGE.

CHRISTIAN.....DON'T  SEE  IT.
..........

LIVING OVER....

YESTERDAY  TOOK  MY  DAD  DOWN  TO  THE  LAKE  FRONT  AT  KELOWNA.  IT  IS  VERY  LOVELY,  THEY  HAVE  DONE  A  LOT  OF  WORK  TO  MAKE  IT  VERY  ATRACTIVE.

WITH  DAD'S  SHORT  TIME  MEMORY  SO  VERY  SHORT  TODAY,  IT  IS  LIKE  HE  IS  SEEING  IT  FOR  THE  FIRST  TIME  ONCE  MORE.  AH  IT  IS  LIKE  AS  WHEN  WE  GET  OLDER  WE  LOOSE  THE  MEMORY  PART  OF  OUR  BRIAN,  SOON  FORGETTING  THE  MOVIE  WE  WATCHED  6  MONTHS  AGO.  HEARD  A  PROGRAM  ON  CBC  RADIO  ON  THIS.  AT  THE  END  THE  LADY  INTERVIEWER  FOR  CBC  SAID  TO  THE  EXPERT,  "AH  WELL  ONE  GOOD  THING  ABOUT  ALL  THIS  IS  WE  CAN  WATCH  MOVIES  ALL  OVER  AGAIN."  THAT  IS  SO  TRUE.  I  HAVE  ABOUT  300  DVD  MOVIES  AND  THOSE  I  GOT  BACK  YEARS  AGO,  TO  WATCH  TODAY  I'VE  COMPLETELY  FORGOTTEN.....LIKE  WATCHING  IT  FOR  THE  FIRST  TIME.

WELL  BACK  TO  MY  DAD  AT  THE  LAKE  FRONT.  HE  SAID,  "MY  THIS  IS  WONDERFUL,  IT  MAKES  ME  WISH  I  COULD  LIVE  MY  LIVE  OVER  AGAIN."

NOW  FOR  THE  REALLY  FUNNY  PART..... HE  IS  93.  AND  HE  SEES  ALL  THE  YOUNG  GIRLS  AND  LADIES  IN  THEIR  SUMMER....WHATEVERS.  HE  SAYS  TO  ME,  "SEEING  ALL  THESE  YOUNG  LADIES  MAKES  ME  WISH  I  COULD  LIVE  MY  LIFE  OVER  AGAIN."  I  HAD  TO  LAUGH,  AND  REPLY,  "WELL  ME  ALSO  DAD."

SO  NOW  YOU  KNOW  HOW  HEALTHY  HE  STILL  IS  IN  SOME  WAYS.  DON'T  THINK  THAT  HEALTHY  OLD  PEOPLE  ARE  OVER  THE  BRIDGE  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  LIKING  THE  BEAUTY  GOD  CREATED  IN  THE  YOUNG  FEMALE.  WE  OLD   MEN  CAN  STILL  APPRECIATE  YOUTH  AND  ITS  BEAUTY  WITHOUT  LUSTING.

OKAY  NOW  YOU  KNOW  AND  CAN  HAVE  A  LAUGH.

BUT  SOMETHING  SERIOUS  NOW,  TO  DO  WITH  SEX.

ON  THE  CBC  TV  NEWS  THE  OTHER  NIGHT,  THEY  SHOWED [BUT  NOT  THE  ONE  PART  I'M  GOING  TO  MENTION]  A  SMALL  GROUP  OF  YOUNG  LADIES  IN  VANCOUVER, B.C.  HAVING THEIR  "TOPLESS  DAY"...... YES  THEY  SERIOUSLY  BELIEVE  WOMEN  SHOULD  BE  ABLE  TO  GO  TOPLESS  JUST  AS  MEN  CAN  AND  DO.  I  WAS  SHOCKED  WHEN  THEY  SAID  THAT  IN  VANCOUVER  YOU  COULD,  IT  WAS  LAWFUL  TO  SO  DO.

THESE SILLY  UNEDUCATED [MAYBE  ALSO  NOT  BUT  KNOW  THE  SEX  FACT AND  WANT  MEN  TO  LOOK  AND  LUST  AFTER  THEM]  YOUNG  LADIES  REALLY  DO  BELIEVE  THEY  SHOULD  BE  ABLE  TO  GO  TOPLESS,  I  GUESS  IN  PARKS,  AND  WATER-FRONT  BEACHES,  OR  IN  THEIR  BACKYARDS,  BE  THEY  FENCED  OR  NOT.

MAYBE  SOMEONE  SHOULD  GIVE  THEM  A  SEX  LESSON.

GOD  CREATED  THE  FEMALE  BREASTS  NOT  JUST  TO  FEED  BABIES.

TO  THE  MALE  THE  FEMALE  BREASTS  ARE  VERY  SEXUAL.  IT'S  ALL  WRITTEN  ABOUT  IN  GOD'S  SEX  BOOK......THE  SONG  OF  SOLOMON [AND  IT  IS  EXPOUNDED  FULLY  ON  MY  WEBSITE].  THE  FEMALE  BREASTS  ARE  BEAUTIFUL  AND  VERY  SEXUALLY  AROUSING  TO  THE  MALE.  THEY  ARE  ALSO  FOR  THE  WONDERFUL  TIME  OF  FOREPLAY  BEFORE  SEXUAL  INTERCOURSE.

FOR  THE  FEMALE  THEIR  BREASTS  ARE  PART  OF  THEIR  SEXUAL  ORGANS,  AND  IN  FOREPLAY  ARE  PART  OF  GIVING  THEM  SEXUAL  AROUSEMENT,  AND  PLEASURABLE  FEELINGS.  ACTUALLY  IN  THE  FEMALE  JUST  ABOUT  EVERY  PART  OF  THEIR  BODY  HAS  SENSUAL  FEELINGS   TO  THE  TOUCH  OF  THEIR  HUSBAND.

ANY  GOOD  SEXUAL  INSTRUCTION  BOOK  ON  THE  ART  [AND  MANY  MEN  DO  NOT  KNOW  IT  IS  AN  ART]  OF  SEXUAL  FOREPLAY  AND  INTERCOURSE,  WILL  EXPLAIN  IT  ALL  IN  DETAIL.  AND  AGAIN  GOD  GIVES  IT  TO  US  IN   THE  "SONG  OF  SOLOMON"  IN  THE  BIBLE.

THANKFULLY  THESE  SILLY  YOUNG  GIRLS  AND  WOMEN  WHO  THINK  THEY  SHOULD  GO  TOPLESS  IN  PUBLIC  PLACES,  ARE  VERY  FEW  INDEED;  THANKFULLY  MOST  WOMEN  KNOW [AS  IT  WAS  MENTIONED  ON  THIS  TV  NEWS  ITEM]  WOULD  NOT  FEEL  RIGHT  GOING  TOPLESS  IN  PUBLIC  PLACES.

IN  THE  AGE  TO  COME  PEOPLE  WILL  DRESS  WITHIN  A  LOT  MORE  MODERATION  THAN  THEY  DO  TODAY.  THERE  WILL  BE  NO  EXTREMES  LIKE  THE  FEMALE  COVERING  UP  FROM  HEAD  TO  FOOT  AS  IN  SOME  ISLAMIC  NATIONS  OR  ISLAMIC  THEOLOGY.  BUT  THERE  WILL  ALSO  NOT  BE  UNCOVERING  TOO  MUCH  OF  THE  FEMALE  BODY  AS  MANY  IN  THE  WESTRN  NATIONS  DO.  THERE  WILL  BE  DECENT  MODERATION.

AND  THE  BEAUTY  OF  NAKEDNESS  AND  PLEASURE  IT  GIVES,  IN  SIGHT  AND  FOREPLAY,  WILL  REMAIN  IN  THE  HOLY  MARRIAGE  BOND  AND  PRIVACY  OF  HUSBAND  AND  WIFE.

SO  IF  ANY  OF  YOU  "TOPTLESS  ANYWHERE"  LADIES  ARE  READING  THIS,  IT  IS  TIME  TO  EDUCATE  YOURSELVES  AND  GET  THE  CORRECT  MIND-SET...... KEEP  YOUR  NAKED  BREASTS  FOR  YOUR  HUSBAND  IN  PRIVACY.

Going over some things.....

HERE  WITH  MY  DAD,  YESTERDAY  ON  HIS  BIRTHDAY,  WE  WERE  GOING  OVER  SOME  OF  HIS  LIFE  AND  MINE.

WE  TALKED  ABOUT  HIS  WORK  AND  HOME  AND  GARDEN  HE  HAD AT  ONE  TIME.  MUCH  HE  HAS  FORGOTTEN  SINCE  HIS  MINOR  STROKE  2  YEARS  PLUS  AGO.  BUT  SOME THINGS  HE  REMEMBERS  WHEN  I  BRING  IT  UP.

HE  GETS  THINGS  MIXED  UP  SOMETIMES.  WHEN  I  ARRIVED  HE  THOUGHT  AT  FIRST  I  WAS  HIS  BROTHER  GEORGE  WHO  DIED  MANY  DECADES  AGO.  HE  SAID,  "II  THOUGHT  I  WOULD  NEVER   SEE  YOU  AGAIN."  WELL  HE  FINALLY  GOT  I  WAS  HIS  SON  KEITH.

LAST  NIGHT  AFTER  SUPPER  HE  WAS  IN  A  VERY  LAUGHING  MOOD,  HE  WAS  THINKING  ABOUT  THINGS,  WOULD  START  TO  TELL  US,  AND  COULD  NOT  FINISH  FOR  LAUGHING.

SOME  OF  THE  BRAIN  CONNECTIONS  GET  CROSSED  CONNECTED  I  GUESS  SINCE  HIS  STROKE,  THEN  THEY  STRAIGHTEN  OUT  FOR  A  WHILE,  AND  ALL  GOES  SMOOTH  FOR  A  WHILE.

TALKING  ABOUT  OLD  STUFF.  ONE  THING  IN  MY  YOUNG  LIFE  WAS  THAT  MY  MOM  WOULD  PUT  ME  IN  THOSE  "LEATHER  HARNESS  WITH  LEATHER  STANDS"  USED  BACK  THEN  SO  PARENTS  WOULD  NOT  LOOSE  THEIR  CHILDREN  IN  THE MARKET  PLACES. WELL  I  WOULD  AS  A  TODDLER  PRETEND  I  WAS  A  HORSE.  I  WOULD  ASK  TO  BE  PUT  IN  THE  HARNESS;  MY  MOM  FINALLY  SAID  NO  TO  ME,  AS  SHE  SAID,  "I  WILL  NOT  BECAUSE  YOU  ACT  LIKE  A  HORSE  ALL  THE  TIME."

I  MUST  HAVE  BEEN  THE  ONLY  KID  WHO  WANTED  IN  THE  HARNESS,  AND  THE  ONLY  KIDS  WHO  WAS  REFUSED.

WELL  WE  HAD  A  FUN  TIME  TALKING  ABOUT  OLD  THINGS.  DAD  WOULD  REMEMBER  THEM  AS  I  BROUGHT  THEM  UP  TO  HIM.

YES  HE'S  DOING  WELL  OVERALL,  AND  I  PRAY  HE  WILL  HAVE  MANY  MORE  BIRTHDAYS  TO  COME.

100 YEAR LIFESTYLE #2

FROM  THE  BOOK  "THE  100  YEAR  LIFESTYLE"

by  Dr. Eric Plasker

THE QUALITYTIME LIVING MODEL

To achieve the optimal 100-Year Lifestyle, start by dividing your life up into three different realms:
Prime time:
This is about production. It is the time you designate to produce results, utilize your skills, and apply talents to generate value in the greater world. This is all about working in your professional life or for your favorite cause, and it is a very important part of keeping you sharp, purposeful, and productive.
Prep time:
This is about organization and strategic planning. This is the time that you plan, organize, do research, and lay the groundwork for superb prime times and fabulous play times.
Play time:
This is the free time you spend reading, getting massages, playing golf, doing yoga, traveling, going on hikes with your family, and taking vacations.
I remember when I first opened my training company and began teaching this time model to doctors. They were blown away by how much more focused they were with their patients. They started to take more vacations, play time, and found that adding this balance to their lives improved their personal relationships and made their lives more fun.
The challenge for me was that our company grew so fast that I lost myself in the process and got off track with my own prime time, prep time, and play time. While I had mastered this time model in my practice, I had not yet figured out how to apply it to my new life. By disciplining myself to abide by my own prime, prep, and play time model, I was able to get back on track when I reconnected to "my life, my minutes."
When you run yourself ragged, just trying to keep up with the demands of your current job—and your present-day life—you are essentially treading water. Every day at work, you are learning new skills, sharpening existing skills, and gaining new perspective on how to do things better. Unfortunately many of us aren't taking the time to process the information and get ahead of the game. We are always playing catch up. It's like we're eating a meal and then frantically moving on to the next meal without taking time to digest. We meet demand after demand, just they will be 100 percent devoted to one thing or another. You may spend 80 to 90 percent of your day in prime time on a prime time day, for example, and then 20 percent on prep time. But in general, you want to make it a complete prime time, result-oriented day. If you are working in a job in which you don't have as much control, try to set up your schedule so that your prime time matches your supervisor's or company's prime time.

PRIME TIME

Prime time days are about generating results, building relationships, or generating money—to use your talents and abilities in more effective ways to create value in the world. That value will generate the money to finance your 100-Year Lifestyle. But don't do things just for the money. Do things you love to do and formulate them into a business model that finances your 100-Year Lifestyle. As you generate money, decide in your prep time where to distribute it, so you can move your life in your desired direction. Also, the quality of your prep times will have a tremendous impact on the quality of your prime time and play time. So, let's break it down:
Teacher: Let's say you are a teacher. Your prime time days are when you teach classes. Your prep days are organizing, grading tests, and creating lesson plans.
Writer; If you are a writer, your prime time days are spent writing. Prep time is spent on research.
Salesperson: For a salesperson, prime time is spent in front of customers and potential customers. Prep time is spent on getting ready to spend time with customers, and on organization, reviewing sales numbers, and setting goals.
CEO: If you are a CEO, your prime time may be spent meeting with your board, shareholders, or key customers. Your prep time is spent on planning, delegating to staff, and constructing the future of your company.
Athlete: If you are an athlete, your prime time is the day of the game. Prep time is spent practicing on the field or working out in the gym.
Manager. If you are a manager, prime time is when you meeting with your team to ensure their productivity. Prep time may be spent setting goals, organizing, or researching a new business system.
Entertainer. If you are an entertainer, prime time is the time you spend on the stage or on the television or movie set. Your prep time is spent on rehearsals, makeup, and reading scripts.
In any of these examples, if you don't spend enough time on your prep times, the quality of your prime times will be reduced. If you are a musician and you didn't spend enough time on rehearsal, for example, you probably won't deliver a good performance. Prime time isn't only about execution, however. It is also the time when we nurture our talents. My wife, Lisa, for example, is an incredible photographer and artist. Over the years she cultivated a photographic eye and a passion for art, design, and technology. But for the longest time she wasn't sure where her journey would take her. All of a sudden things came together. Now, during her prime times she has an opportunity to do what she loves—making multimedia masterpieces. Her prime time is on the computer creating masterpieces. Her prep time is spent doing research. You can apply this model of time no matter what you do.
If you fully embrace this model of time, it will radically change your life. One of my clients in Australia recently said to me that after implementing Quality Time Living, he cut his hours from five and a half days a week to three and a half and he focused and improved the quality of the care he provides dramatically while increasing his practice by $360,000 a year. I told him in a joking manner that he should consider going to two days a week.
My yardman listened to some of the audio CDs that I made on this topic and quadrupled his business in two years. You can do the same, and you will have a blast in the process.
On the other hand, another one of my new clients came to see me awhile back. He was burned out. I asked him, "When was the last time you took a vacation?" He said, "It's been ten years." When I asked him how his wife felt about that, he told me he had just gone through a divorce. This is what happens when people spend too much time in prime time. This is a classic, "all work and no play" scenario. It's very draining and leads to fatigue, ill health, being overweight, and broken relationships. Stay in prime time for too long and eventually you can expect some sort of health or relationship crisis to come your way.
For the rest of your life, I would like you to make play time a priority in your lifestyle. You don't have to earn it, prove yourself, or put it off until next year. You deserve it, and play time will come first when you schedule it into your life. So many of us run ourselves into the ground and collapse at the finish line so we can get away for a weeklong vacation, and then go back to work and do it again. Finding the perfect balance of prime, prep, and play time is essential for ensuring a quality of life as you age. When you schedule your life this way, you choose your focus and build momentum.

PREP   TIME

Prep days are about organization. They are about preparing for great prime times and great play times. The trick with prep time is that you may not see the results of your work right away because you are laying down the tracks. This is where the discipline comes in to work on your life and business, rather than just be caught up in it. For example, think of a beautiful garden in the middle of summer. When you look around, you see flowers in bloom—red, yellow, pink, and white blossoms. They are fragrant. A butterfly lands on a cluster of strawberries and spreads its wings. The garden is in full bloom, showing its magnificent beauty and producing a sense of abundance.
The days that you are sitting in the garden and enjoying it with your family are play time days. Planning the garden to begin with took place during prep time. Building the garden was the prime time activity. Utilize this triune of time properly and you truly find the balance you can enjoy for a lifetime.
Successful entrepreneurs and businesspeople are masters of prep time. They know that when they set things up the right way, the right things happen. For them, their prep times are spent on developing their business model, marketing, networking, doing interviews, setting goals, researching new technology, and participating in panel discussions. They work on building and nurturing relationships that support their primary businesses. It can take weeks, months, or even years, in some cases, to see the full fruit of their labors in prep time. But when they do the right things, for the right reasons, they can expect to eventually reap the right results. This is the magic of prep time.
[Centenarian Secret Have you ever felt like your days were a hodgepodge of prime, prep, and play blended together? When this happens you will find that you get half as much done in twice the time with quadruple the stress. Quality Time Living is a much better option.]
The risk of prep time is spending too much time on the "doing" without generating production. That is, "pulling the trigger" in prime time. Think about the real estate investor who looks and looks but never buys—-or the doctoral candidate who works on his thesis for years but fails to present. Prep time, for some, becomes a way to avoid risk. This is what I call "Constantly Busy but Not Accomplishing Anything" syndrome. For example, I had a client who was very hard to get on the phone. He always seemed to be busy. In fact, he was one of the busiest guys I'd ever seen. Unfortunately for him, his practice wasn't getting him anywhere but in a state of exhaustion. He never seemed to be able to get over the hump. Eventually, you need to pull the trigger and do the things that generate results.

PLAYTIME

Play time is simply about enjoying your life. On a play time day, you are not busy trying to stay organized. You are doing whatever it is that makes you happy and rejuvenates you—reading a good book at home or on the beach, going for a walk in the woods, spending time with your life partner, traveling to exotic places, and celebrating life. When you look at your schedule for the next 12 months, what I would like you to do is to start blocking off your play time days first. This might seem counterintuitive to what you have always done. Play time first is a key component of the 100-Year Lifestyle. Play time days, however, aren't only for rest and relaxation.
You need play time to cultivate your creativity. Your creativity is ultimately the force behind the exciting and passionate 100-Year Lifestyle you want to enjoy. It will not only be what gets you ahead in this new era, but it will also help you choose new and exciting goals and adventures that you'd like to experience. I'm sure you know there are a million forces at work to ensure you don't take the time to nurture this creativity. The tendency, today, is to push and push—-to keep working day and night and to stay plugged in. Scheduling play time first is about setting boundaries. It is also showing the world, and yourself, that you value your life and your family, and you do so by making them your first priority.
[Centenarian Secret Play time frees up your creativity, creates balance, and frees you from the grind and the intensity of prime time. Play time frees up your energy, relaxes you, balances out your system, and produces a condition of homeostasis—a condition of equilibrium—throughout your mind and body. It is often where your next big thing is born.]
Many people report that the creativity comes out in play time, which is why you need to take it. What's interesting is that when many of us are in a rut, we try to work ourselves out of it and instead we just end up digging it deeper. The way to get out of a rut is to step away and take play time. Life is not just about work. You deserve to enjoy your life. Have fun and lots of it. In fact, since you are going to have more time than you originally thought you would, why not have more fun than you ever dreamed possible.

Extreme Endurance Exercise: If You Do This Type of Exercise, You Could Be Damaging Your Heart

August 23, 2013 |
DR. MERCOLA

Do you dread going to the gym for what feels like hours at a stretch? Or do you avoid working out altogether because you just don't have the time? Then what I'm about to tell you should be music to your ears: when it comes to exercise, less is more.
It's becoming increasingly clear from the recent flurry of scientific studies that overdosing on exercise can have detrimental effects on your health. Too much exercise, particularly long bouts of cardio such as marathon and triathlon training, can do more harm than good—particularly to your heart.
While most Americans would be well served to exercise more, there's no need to work out for more than 45 minutes at a time, and if you exercise effectively, your workouts should be even shorter, which I’ll be discussing in a moment.
Getting your heart pumping and your body sweating with regular cardio exercise provides multiple benefits. As your heart rate rises:
  • Your heart pumps more efficiently
  • The amount of oxygen in your blood increases
  • Your body’s ability to detoxify improves
  • Your immune system is activated
  • Endorphins increase, elevating your mood
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits of exercise, but there is a cutoff point beyond which exercise can actually harm your body.
Recent studies are giving us a much better understanding of exercise physiology, and many of our past notions have been turned upside-down, in terms of how long and how hard to push yourself before the benefits of exercise turn into damages.
As you probably know, I am a passionate advocate of exercise and staying fit. But too much of a good thing can have the opposite effect of what you want.

Overdosing on Exercise Can Backfire

Exercising excessively or incorrectly can backfire on your health in a number of ways. For example, the following can occur when you exercise too much or too hard:
  1. Your body can enter a catabolic state, in which your tissues break down
  2. Excess cortisol (a stress hormone) can be released, which not only contributes to catabolism but also to chronic disease
  3. You can develop microscopic tears in your muscle fibers (which may fail to heal if you continue over-exercising), and increased risk for injuries
  4. Your immune system may be weakened
  5. You may develop insomnia, especially if your workout is in the afternoon or evening
However, the most serious risk involves damaging your heart—or worse yet, sudden cardiac death—which will be the focus of this article.

Are You Running the Risk of Sudden Death?

You’ve undoubtedly been stunned by the occasional news of an elite athlete suddenly dropping dead. These accounts are not as rare as you would hope, and science is finally shining some light on the cause. Marathon runners and triathletes have traditionally been seen as the perfect picture of fitness, the envy of “hobbyist” and professional athletes alike. Running a marathon is on many-a-Bucket-List.
But are the physical demands of this sort of training actually healthy or even safe? The latest research suggests not. High-endurance training puts extraordinary stress on your heart. Although stressing a muscle usually makes it stronger, extremely high stress can have the opposite effect—and your heart muscle is no exception.
Long-distance running leads to high levels of oxidative stress, inflammation, and damage to your heart tissues, producing acute physiological responses that can trigger a cardiac event.
The risk appears to be highest if you’re a middle-aged man, due to gender differences and changes that typically accompany aging. Men are two to three times more likely to experience a sudden cardiac arrest, the exercise issue aside.1 One 1984 NEJM study found that you are seven times more likely to have a heart incident while exercising than at rest.2 So, let’s take a look at the flurry of studies emerging over the past few years about exercise-related heart damage.

Eight Scientific Studies That May Stop You in Your Tracks

1. According to a study presented at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress 2010 in Montreal, regular exercise reduces cardiovascular risk by a factor of two or three, but the extended vigorous exercise performed during a marathonraises your cardiac risk seven-fold!
2. In a 2011 study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, researchers recruited a group of extremely fit older men, all members of the 100 Marathon club (having completed a minimum of 100 marathons). Half of the men showed heart muscle scarring as a result of their endurance running—specifically, the half who had trained the longest and hardest. If running marathons provided cardiovascular benefit, this group would have had the healthiest hearts!3
3. A 2011 rat study published in the journal Circulation was designed to mimic the strenuous daily exercise load of serious marathoners over the course of 10 years. All the rats had normal, healthy hearts at the outset of the study, but by the end, most of them had developed "diffuse scarring and some structural changes, similar to the changes seen in the human endurance athletes."4
4. A 2012 study in the European Heart Journal found that long-term endurance athletes suffer from diminished function of the right ventricle of the heart and increased cardiac enzymes (markers for heart injury) after endurance racing, which may activate platelet formation and clotting. Twelve percent of the athletes had detectable scar tissue on their heart muscle one week post-race.5
5. A 2010 study presented by the American College of Cardiology showed that endurance runners have more calcified plaque in their arteries (which also increases stroke and dementia risk) than those who are not endurance athletes.6
6. A 2011 German study revealed a very high incidence of carotid and peripheral atherosclerosis among male marathon runners.7
7. A 2006 study screened 60 non-elite participants of the 2004 and 2005 Boston Marathons, using echocardiography and serum biomarkers. Researchers found decreased right ventricular systolic function in the runners, caused by an increase in inflammation and a decrease in blood flow.8
8. Research by Dr. Arthur Siegel, director of Internal Medicine at Harvard's McLean Hospital, also found that long-distance running leads to high levels of inflammation that may trigger cardiac events.9

Sustained Elevated Cardiac Output Can 'Tear Apart' Your Heart Tissue

As you can see from the above studies, the research is converging around the considerable risks that high endurance cardio-type exercises pose for your heart. When you engage in this type of training, your heart doesn’t have much say in the matter, as it simply responds to biochemical signals from your body to ramp up cardiac output in order to keep up with your level of exertion. You can’t “feel its pain” until very late in the game, and at that point, it may be a life-threatening situation.
Extreme exercise causes your heart to massively increase cardiac output, which it may have to sustain for several hours, depending on the duration and intensity of your activity.
Your heart pumps about five quarts of blood per minute when you’re sitting. But when you’re running, it goes up to 25 to 30 quarts, and it wasn’t designed to do this for hours on end, day after day.10 It enters a state of “volume overload” that stretches the walls of your heart muscle, literally breaking fibers apart.
The problem is, many endurance athletes don’t allow their bodies to fully recover between sessions. They often live in a perpetual post-workout state, which basically resembles chronic oxidative stress.11 Repeated damage to the heart muscle increases inflammation, which leads to increased plaque formation, because plaque is your body’s way of “bandaging” the lining of your inflamed arteries.
Over time, as more damage is inflicted, the heart enlarges (hypertrophy), and forms scars (cardiac fibrosis). MRIs of long-time marathoners reveal abundant scarring all over their hearts. Scientists have also measured elevated cardiac enzyme levels after extreme exercise—just like after a heart attack, which can only mean one thing: this type of exercise is damaging people’s hearts.

Endurance Training Can Produce Dangerous Arrhythmias, Myocardial Fibrosis, Hypertrophy and Atherosclerosis

Although researchers don’t yet understand all of the factors in this process, they have theorized that high endurance exercise leads to cardiac fatigue, then a flood of catecholamines and adrenalin, which then triggers arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms). One common arrhythmia is atrial fibrillation, commonly known as “A-fib.”12 A-fib is epidemic among endurance athletes, which sets them up for major increase in stroke risk. Marathoners above age 50 have a five-fold increase in A-fib rates.13
Arrhythmias can progress into full cardiac arrest. According to Dr. James O’Keefe, a research cardiologist and former elite athlete, 50 percent of marathon deaths occur in the final mile of the race, probably due to this cumulative stress on the heart. Dr. O’Keefe summarizes the entire phenomenon nicely in his Mayo Clinic Proceedings paper:14
“Emerging data suggest that chronic training for and competing in extreme endurance events such as marathons, ultramarathons, ironman distance triathlons, and very long distance bicycle races, can cause transient acute volume overload of the atria and right ventricle, with transient reductions in right ventricular ejection fraction and elevations of cardiac biomarkers, all of which return to normal within 1 week.
Over months to years of repetitive injury, this process, in some individuals, may lead to patchy myocardial fibrosis, particularly in the atria, interventricular septum, and right ventricle, creating a substrate for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. Additionally, long-term excessive sustained exercise may be associated with coronary artery calcification, diastolic dysfunction, and large-artery wall stiffening.”

Our Ancestors Did Not Run 20 Miles at a Time

Our Paleolithic ancestors did lots of walking, with occasional sprints, but not extended running. They would run long enough to escape the clutches of a tiger, but there were no marathons happening across the African savanna. One new study lends more credence to the benefits of walking versus running, finding that moderate intensity exercise (walking) produced equal health benefits as vigorous intensity exercise (running), with similar risk reductions for hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes and possibly coronary artery disease.15
Over the past 30 years, the number of people running marathons has increased 20-fold, while obesity has tripled. Phidippides was the first “marathoner,” a Greek messenger who died suddenly after running more than 175 miles in two days. The changes being noted in the heart tissue of long-distance runners, especially in their right ventricles and both atria, have led some physicians to call the condition “Phidippides Cardiomyopathy.”16
I want to be perfectly clear that I am not completely against running. If done appropriately, it can be an effective part of your overall fitness plan and may even help you to live longer.17 But you must keep it moderate, and find you own “Goldilocks Zone.”
Dr. O’Keefe recommends running no more than 20 miles per week, spread out over three to four days, at a speed of about five miles per hour. If you run farther or faster than that, you may lose ALL benefits, and your health risks can rise to the magnitude of the couch potato—literally—according to the science. The statement written by Hippocrates 2,500 years ago hit the nail precisely on the head:
“The right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little, not too much, is the safest way to health.”

Instead of Endurance Training, Peak Fitness is Safer and More Effective

Ideally, to get the most benefits from exercise, you need to push your body hard enough for a challenge while allowing adequate time for recovery and repair to take place. One of the best ways to accomplish this is with called HIIT, or high intensity interval training, which consists of short bursts of high-intensity exercise, as opposed to extended episodes of exertion. This is a core part of my Peak Fitness program, which Phil Campbell was instrumental in helping me develop. Briefly, a Peak Fitness routine typically includes:
  1. Warm up for three minutes
  2. Exercise as hard and fast as you can for 30 seconds. You should feel like you couldn't possibly go on another few seconds
  3. Recover for 90 seconds
  4. Repeat the high intensity exercise and recovery cycle 7 more times
You can do HIIT by running/sprinting (if you love running), or by using gym equipment such as a treadmill or elliptical machine, or you can accomplish similar benefits without running at all by doing super-slow weight training, as described by Doug McGuff in the video above. HIIT maximizes your secretion of human growth hormone (HGH), optimizes your metabolism and helps regulate your insulin and blood sugar. And it takes far less time than training for a marathon! You can do a complete Peak Fitness workout in 20 minutes or less.
Remember, adequate recovery is crucial between workouts. This includes not only resting your body, but also giving it the nutrients it needs to support recovery. Your post-workout meal can support or impair your recovery. For instance, consuming a fast-assimilating protein such as high-quality whey protein within 30 minutes of your workout will essentially "rescue" your muscles out of their catabolic state and supply them with the nutrients they need to make their repairs.
Any sort of intense exercise should be balanced with strength training, proper stretching, core strengthening, stress reduction, good sleep and an optimal nutrition plan. You’ll find much more information about HIIT and other types of exercise in thefitness section of my website.

Not Willing to Give Up on the Marathon? Please Read This First!

If you are an endurance runner or feel your life just won’t be complete without completing at least one marathon, please review the International Marathon Medical Director’s Association guidelines, which outlines steps you can take to reduce your risk for a cardiac event.18 Don’t rely solely on a stress test, because people who exercise regularly are unlikely to show any signs of a problem.
Above all, listen to your body and don’t ignore its signals of distress. It’s time to put away the outdated “no pain no gain” principal—in this case, it can lead to serious problems with potentially disastrous health consequences.
