"The WAY we WERE" .... movie

CAME  ACROSS  THIS  OLD  MOVIE  JUST  THE  OTHER  DAY....with  BARBRA  STREISAND  and  ROBERT  REDFORD.

THE  MOVIE  WAS  MADE  IN  1973.....YES.....40  YEARS  AGO,  SO  A  YOUNG STREISAND  AND  REDFORD.

IT  IS  A  VERY  GOOD  "LOVE  MOVIE" .....  WHICH  ACTUALLY  SHOWS  THE  IDEA  THAT  OPPOSITES  CAN  ATTRACTED  AND  MAKE  GOOD  MARRIAGES,  IS  VERY  FALSE.

BUT  WITH  THAT  SAID,  IT  IS  A  VERY  INTERESTING  MOVIE,  AND  THE  INTERVIEWS  ON  THE  "SPECIAL"  SECTION  OF  THE  DVD  IS  JUST  AS  INTERESTING.

ON  THE  BACK  WE  READ:

"Screen  legends  Barbra  Streisand  and  Robert  Redford  make  movie  magic  as  the  captivating  star-crossed  lovers  Katie  Morosky  and  Hubbell  Gardiner.  Theirs is a classic love story sparked by the attraction of opposites, played out against the backdrop of American life during times of foreign war, domestic prosperity and McCarthy-era paranoia in Hollywood."

JUST  FOR  THE  HISTORICAL  TRUE  SETTING  OF  TIMES  IN  AMERICA  IT  IS  WORTH  SEEING.

A  TIME  JUST  BEFORE  THE  SECOND  WORLD  WAR,  DURING  AND  NEAR THE  END  OF  THE  WAR,  THEN  INTO  THE  SILLY  AND  MISGUIDED  PARANOIA  OF  COMMUNISM  AT  IT  PLAYED  OUT  IN  HOLLYWOOD  UNDER  THE  SO-CALLED  "BLACK-LIST"  -  THEN  THE  TOUCHING  LOVE  STORY  OF  TWO  THAT  WERE  ATTRACTED  TO  EACH  OTHER ..... BUT ....

SO  IF  YOU  COME  ACROSS  IT  CHEAP  PRICE  LIKE,  THEN  IT  IS  WORTH  HAVING,  AS  I'VE  SAID  THE  INTERVIEWS  ON  THE  SPECIAL  SECTION  IS VERY  INTERESTING.
