About JUSTICE
What the Scriptures Say
ALL ABOUT JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE WHAT THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY A VERY SERIOUS SUBJECT - NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN GET INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD BY NOT LIVING BY HIS WORD (MATTHEW 4:4) JUSTICE: Ex. 23:1. Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witnss. 2. Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment. 3. Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause. 6. Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause. 7. Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked. 8. And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous. Lev. 18:13. Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. 14. Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord. 16. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. Deut.16:18. Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes and they shall judge the people with just judgment. 19. Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous. 20. That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Deut. 25:1. If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked. 2. And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number. 3. Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee. 4. Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the torn. Ezra 7:26. And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment. Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word, 2. And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates: 3. Thus with the LORD, Execute ye judgment and righteousness and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place. 4. For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people. Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth, 11. Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them. 12. For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right. Mic. 7:3. Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Matt. 12:7. But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. John 7:24. Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. 61. Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth? 1 Cor. 13:11. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but, rejoiceth in the truth. .......... SO ENDS OUR STUDY ON JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE. JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE ARE TWO PARTS OF THE CHARACTER OF GOD THAT ARE HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS AND PERFECT. A HOLY GOD CANNOT BUT HAVE HOLY PERFECT JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE. IF GOD DID NOT REVEAL THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS COIN WE WOULD BE PERSONS MOST MISERABLE AND DOWNCAST. BUT THE ETERNAL GOD HAS REVEALED THAT HE NOT ONLY HAS JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE, BUT HE HAS GRACE, MERCY, JUSTIFICATION, FORGIVENESS. Keith Hunt - September 2012 |
