TESTING GOD ?

QUESTION

Thank you for all of your help.

I've thought of something else.  It would be wrong, you're saying, for a couple to reproduce as much as possible and then trust God that nothing bad will happen?  It would be tempting God?  I understand what you're saying, but at the same time it is obvious that God wants for us to test him in some ways.  For instance, in Malachi 3:10 God says: "Test Me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."

It is obvious that God does want people to test Him.  How do we know when He does and when He doesn't?

MY  ANSWER

JESUS  WAS  TAKEN  TO  THE  TOP  OF  THE  TEMPLE  AREA,  SATAN  TOLD  HIM  TO  THROW  HIMSELF  DOWN,  TO  PROVE  HE  REALLY  WAS  THE  SON  OF  GOD,  FOR  IT  WAS  WRITTEN, "HE  WILL  GIVE  HIS  ANGELS  CHARGE  OVER  THEE,  AND  IN  THEIR  HANDS  THEY  SHALL  BEAR  THEE  UP,  LEST  AT  ANY  TIME  YOU  SHOULD  DASH  YOUR  FOOT  AGAINST  A  STONE" (MAT. 4:6).
CHRIST  ANSWERED,  "IT  IS  WRITTEN  DO  NOT  TEMPT  THE  LORD  YOUR  GOD."

JESUS  ANSWERED  SCRIPTURE  TWISTED  [AH  THE  VERSES  SATAN  USED  IN  THE  PSALMS  ARE  GENERAL  STATEMENT - MAKE  SURE  YOU  SEE  MY  STUDY  ON  "A  KEY  TO  BIBLE  UNDERSTANDING  -  GENERAL  STATEMENTS"  ON  MY  WEBSITE],  WITH  SCRIPTURE.

THERE  IS  NO  WORDS  THERE  SAYING  "TEST  ME,"  AS  IN  MALACHI  3:10.

IF  GOD  IS  SPEAKING  AND  HE  SAYS  "TEST  ME"  ON  THIS  OR  THAT,  THEN  FOR  SURE  ON  THAT  PARTICULAR  SUBJECT  UNDER   THE  CONTEXT,   YOU  CAN  TEST  HIM.  BUT  WITHOUT  GOD  TELLING  YOU  TO  TEST  HIM...... YOU  BETTER  BE  CAREFUL  YOU  DON'T  TRY  TESTING  HIM  WHERE  YOU  HAVE  NO  AUTHORITY  TO  TEST  HIM.  HENCE  JESUS  ANSWERED  CORRECTLY  AND  WISELY  TO  SATAN  WHEN  THE  DEVIL  WAS  TWISTING  SCRIPTURE  AND  TAKING  SCRIPTURE  OUT  OF  CONTEXT  OF  THE  ENTIRE  BIBLE,  AND  USING  "GENERAL  STATEMENTS"  TO  TRY  AND  PROVE  THEY  WERE  NOT  GENERAL  STATEMENTS  AT  ALL  BUT  IRON  CLAD  LAWS  OF  GOD.

JESUS  KNEW  THE  BIBLE  IS  FULL  OF  GENERAL  STATEMENTS......  PROVERBS  IS  LOADED  WITH  THEM.

EXAMPLE:  "A  SOFT  ANSWER  TURNETH  AWAY  WRATH"

NOPE..... IT  DOES  NOT  ALL  THE  TIME,  MANY  TIMES  IT  DOES,  BUT  IT  DOES  NOT  WORK  100%,  100%  OF  THE  TIME.  SOMETIMES  YOU  CAN  GIVE  A  SOFT  ANSWER  TO  AN  OUTRAGED  PERSON,  AND  THEY  STILL  KICK  YOU  ON  THE  SHINS,  AND  WALK  ALL  OVER  YOU  LIKE  A  DOOR  MAT.

PROVERBS  IS  FULL  OF  GENERAL  STATEMENTS.

YOU  TEST  GOD  WHEN  HE  SAYS  TO  TEST  HIM,  FOR  AS  JESUS  SAID,  "IT  IS  WRITTEN  YOU  SHALL  NOT  TEMPT  THE  LORD  YOUR  GOD."
