MANY TEACHINGS OF JESUS--- #15--- TWO COMMANDMENTS

TWO  GREAT  COMMANDMENTS

"BUT when the Pharisees had heard that He had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question tempting Him, and saying: Master, which is the GREAT commandment of the law? Jesus said unto him, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR LIFE, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREAT COMMANDMENT. AND THE SECOND IS LIKE UNTO IT: YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS" (Matthew 22: 34-40).

Yes it was a trick question, and if Jesus had named any ONE commandment you can be sure all kinds of other questions would have poured out from the Pharisees in trying to trick Him more.

Jesus does quote from the Old Testament, so this truth was there all the time;  He  did  not  make  it  up - Deut. 6:5; 10:12; 30:6 and Lev. 19:18; 19:19.

THE  WHOLE  OLD  TESTAMENT  AND  WAY  OF  GOD,  IS  SUMMED  UP  IN  THESE  TWO  OVERALL  COMMANDMENTS.

OH  HOW  I'VE  HEARD  THIS  SECTION  AND  TEACHING  OF  JESUS  ABUSED  AND  MISUSED.  SOME  HAVE  GIVEN  JESUS'  WORDS  AS    WISHY-WASHY  WAY  TO  HAVE  LOVE  IN  YOUR  HEART  TOWARDS  GOD,  AND  LOVE  TO  OTHER  PEOPLE,  AND  TO  THEM  THERE  ARE  NO  SPECIFICS  AS  TO  HOW  YOU  SHOULD  LIVE  YOUR  LIFE  TOWARDS  GOD  AND  OTHER  PEOPLE.  THEY  USE  IT  AS  IF  THERE  IS  NO  OTHER  WORDS  OR  TEACHINGS  FROM  CHRIST  IN  ANY  SPECIFICS  IN  THE  GOSPELS.  WHICH  WE  HAVE  SEEN  ALREADY  TO  BE  TOTALLY  FALSE.

WHEN  YOU  ASK  THEM,  CAN  YOU  PROFANE  THE  NAME  OF  GOD  OR  JESUS;  CAN  YOU  WORSHIP  GOD  AND  SAY  BUDDAH  ALSO   THEY  WILL  SAY,  WELL  NO  YOU  CANNOT  DO  THAT.

IF  YOU  ASK  THEM  CAN  YOU  MURDER  PEOPLE,  CAN  YOU  STEAL  FROM  PEOPLE,  CAN  YOU  BE   LIAR  IN  COURT  TOWARDS  PEOPLE,  THEY  WILL  SAY,  WELL  NO  YOU  CANNOT  DO  THAT.

WHAT  THESE  PEOPLE  ADMIT  IS  THAT   OUT  OF  THE  10  COMMANDMENTS  SHOULD  BE  OBEYED  BY  CHRISTIANS.

WHY  THEY  ARGUE  THE  WAY  THEY  DO,  IS  BECAUSE  OF  THE  4TH  COMMANDMENT.......TO  THEM  THE  4TH  COMMANDMENT,  THE  SABBATH  COMMANDMENT,  IS  AN  OLD  RELIC  OF   GONE-BY-AGE;  IT'S  JUST  NOT  IMPORTANT  ANY  MORE,  ESPECIALLY  IN   MODERN  FAST  COMPLICATED  WORLD.  AND  BECAUSE  THEY  HAVE  THIS  ATTITUDE  TO  THE  SABBATH  COMMANDMENT,  THEY  WILL  COME  UP  WITH  EVERY  ARGUMENT  YOU  CAN  THINK  OF [THIS SECTION BEING ONE] TO  "DO  AWAY  WITH"  THE  COMMANDMENT  TO  KEEP  HOLY  THE  7TH  DAY  OF  THE  WEEK.

IT  IS  TRULY  ASTOUNDING   AND  SHOCKING,  HOW  MANY  ARGUMENTS  PEOPLE  WILL  COME  UP  WITH,  TO  SAY  GOD  HAS  CUT  OUT  THE  SABBATH  DAY  COMMAND  IN  THE  NEW  TESTAMENT.

JESUS  NEVER  CUT  OUT  ANY  COMMANDMENT  FROM  THE  10  COMMANDMENTS  IN  THE  NEW  TESTAMENT.

AND  JESUS  SAYING  THESE  TWO  OVERALL  COMMANDMENTS   LOVE  TOWARDS  GOD  AND  LOVE  TOWARDS  YOUR  NEIGHBOR   DO  NOT  MEAN  THE  SABBATH  COMMAND  HAS  BEEN  ABOLISHED.

THE  SABBATH  COMMAND  IS  NOT  MENTIONED  IN  THESE  VERSES  AND  THIS  TEACHING  OF  JESUS.

WE  CAN  FIND  LATER  IN  THE  NEW  TESTAAMENT,  WHERE  JESUS  INSPIRED  THE  SUBJECT  OF  PHYSICAL  CIRCUMCISION  TO  BE  DEBATED  IN  HIS  CHURCH,  AND  THE  ANSWER  GIVEN  UNDER  INSPIRATION   ACTS  15.  THE  WEEKLY  SABBATH  DAY  COMMAND  WAS  JUST  AS  PROMINENT  IN  JEWISH  LIFE  AS  PHYSICAL  CIRCUMCISION.  IF  THERE  WAS  GOING  TO  BE   "CHANGE"  OF  THE  DAY,  OR   DOING  AWAY  WITH  THE  DAY  ALTOGETHER,  YOU  CAN  BET  THERE  WOULD  HAVE  ALSO  BEEN   CHURCH  MEETING  OF  MINISTERS  TO  DECIDE  THE  ISSUE.

HAVE  GIVEN  MUCH  TIME  AND  SPACE  ON  THIS  WEBSITE  TO  THE  FOURTH  COMMANDMENT   THE  SABBATH  COMMANDMENT.  ALL  ARGUMENTS  AGAINST  THIS  COMMANDMENT  AS  BEING  CHANGED  OR  ABROGATED  HAVE  BEEN  ANSWERED.

LOVING  GOD  WITH  ALL  YOUR  HEART,  YOUR  LIFE,  YOUR  MIND,  INCLUDES  OBEYING  THE  4TH  COMMANDMENT  OF  THE  10  COMMANDMENTS.
