THE MANY TEACHINGS OF JESUS #5

 

THINK  NOT  THAT  I  AM  COME  TO  SEND  PEACE  ON  EARTH;  I  CAME  NOT  TO  SEND  PEACE  BUT  A  SWORD!

SPOKEN  BY  JESUS  IN  MATTHEW  10:34

PRETTY  SHOCKING  FOR  THOSE  WHO  THINK  JESUS  CAME  TO  BRING  PEACE  AND  LOVE  AMONG  ALL  PEOPLES  IN  THIS  AGE.

NO,  THE  TRUTH  IS,  IN  THIS  AGE,  UNTIL  JESUS  RETURNS,  THERE  WILL  BE  NO  PEACE,  AND  THE  CHRISTIAN  WILL  COME  UNDER  FIRE,  MORE  AND  MORE  AS  TIME  GOES  ON  TO  THE  END  OF  THIS  AGE.

WE  ALREADY  SEE  IN  OUR  WESTERN  NATIONS  THAT  PEOPLE  WHO  STAND  UP  FOR  THE  LAWS  OF  GOD,  ARE  CONSIDERED  NARROW  MINDED,  BIGOTS,  HATEFUL,  AND  JUST  "OUT-OF-STEP"  WITH  REALITY.

IF  YOU  ARE  AGAINST  ABORTION  ON  DEMAND,  SAME  SEX  MARRIAGE,  "GAY"  RIGHTS  OR  "TRANSGENDER"  RIGHTS,  YOU  ARE  UNLOVING,  EVEN  HATEFUL.

THE  WORLD  IS  BECOMING  MORE  AND  MORE  SECULAR;  ESPECIALLY  OUR  WESTERN  WORLD,  AND  THE  BIBLE  LESS  AND  LESS  IMPORTANT  AS  LEADERS  PUSH  IT  TO  ONE  SIDE;  TO  BE  SURE  MORE  AND  MORE  YOUNG  POLITICAL  LEADERS  HAVE  NEVER  READ  ONE  WORD  OF  THE  BIBLE.

IN  ONCE  WORKED  FOR  A  YOUNG  MAN  ABOUT  AGE  30.  NOW  AND  AGAIN  HE  ASK  ME  ABOUT  MY  RELIGION;  NOW  AND  AGAIN  A  SPECIFIC  QUESTION.  I  ONCE  ANSWERED,  "WELL  THE  BIBLE  SAYS......"  HE  REPLIED,  "WELL  KEITH,  I'VE  NEVER  READ  ONE  WORD  OF  THE  BIBLE."

I  THOUGHT  WOW....... INDEED  WE  HAVE  RAISED  A  WHOLE  GENERATION  OF  KIDS  WHO  HAVE  NEVER  READ  ONE  WORD  OF  THE  BIBLE.  IT  HIT  ME  BACK  THEN  LIKE  A  BRICK  WALL  CRASHING  DOWN  ON  ME.

TODAY  RIGHT  AND  GOOD  IS  CALLED  EVIL,  AND  EVIL  IS  CALLED  GOOD!!

IN  THIS  AGE  THIS  IS  WHAT  JESUS  TAUGHT:

"For  I  am  come  to  set  a  man  at  variance  against  his  father,  and  the  daughter  against  her  mother,  and  the  daughter-in-law  against  her  mother-in-law. And  a  man's  foes  shall  be  they  of  his  own  house.  He  that  loves  father  or  mother  more  than  me  is  not  worthy  of  me;  and  he  that  loves  sons  or  daughters  more  than  me,  is  not  worthy  of  me. And  he  that  takes  not  his  cross  and  follows  not  after  me,  is  not  worthy  of  me.  He  that  finds  his  life  shall  loose  it;  and  he  that  looses  his  life  for  my  sake,  shall  find  it.  He  that  receives  you  receives  me,  and  that  receives  me  receives  him  that  sent  me" (Matthew  10:35-40).

FURTHER  JESUS  SAID:

"Beware  of  men,  for  they  shall  deliver  you  up  to  the  councils,  and  they  will  scourge  you  in  the  synagogues.  And  you  shall  be  brought  before  governors  and  kings  for  my  sake..... And  the  brother  shall  deliver  up  the  brother  to  death,  and  the  father  the  child:  and  the  children  shall  rise  up  against  their  parents,  and  cause  them  to  be  put  to  death.  And  you  shall  be  hated  of  all  men  for  my  name's  sake:  BUT  HE  THAT  ENDURES  TO  THE  END  SHALL  BE  SAVED" (MATTHEW  10:17-22).

WOW.....QUITE  THE  STRAIGHT  UP,  CARDS  ON  THE  TABLE,  WORDS  FROM  JESUS  TO  HIS  DISCIPLES.

MANY  THINGS  IN  THE  GOSPELS  ARE  CONTRARY  TO  MANY  THINGS  YOU'VE  HEARD  WRONG  FROM  THE  CHURCHES.

YOU  NEED  TO  HAVE  A  "RED-LETTER"  NEW  TESTAMENT,  AND  READ  ALL  THE  WORDS  OF  CHRIST.

I  HAD  A  RED-LETTER  NEW  TESTAMENT  AS  A  KID  GROWING  UP,  AND  IT  WAS  SO  EASY  TO  READ  AND  COME  TO  KNOW  EXACTLY  WHAT  JESUS  TAUGHT.  I  WELL  REMEMBER  READING  SOME  OF  THE  WORDS  OF  JESUS  BEFORE  I  FELL  ASLEEP;  IT  WAS  KIND  OF  A  RITUAL  WITH  ME.  JESUS  DID  NOT  USE  BIG  FANCY  WORDS  -  HIS  WORDS  WERE  SIMPLE   -   PLAIN  AND  SIMPLE  AND  TO  THE  POINT.
