Kentucky Derby winner

So the winner of the Kentucky Derby has an all Canadian connection from owner to trainer to Jockey - I'll Have Another - came from behind to win.

Secretariat time of 1.59.40 minutes still stands as the faster ever time for the Derby.

This years winner was 2.1 and something, not even close to Secretariat, with perfect conditions.

BUT the WORLD record for a 1 and 1/4 mile race (as the Derby is) goes to another horse out California way, who did the distance in 1.57 and something, so even the great Secretariat was not close to that horse.

But Secretariat does still holds 3rd race of the Triple Crown record for the 1 and 1/2 miles, on that particular race track. He was the kind of horse that got faster with distance. As they say "just ate up the track" the further he had to go.

BUT again the WORLD record goes to another horse for the 1 and 1/2 miles, out California way, who went even faster than the Sec. horse ran it..... wow that's incredible.
