Two GREAT movies!!

AN OLD ONE:

The Sundowners - Warner Brothers - 1960. Staring Deborah Kerr, Robert Mitchum, Peter Ustinov, and Glynis Johns who I called "baby face" when I first saw her  when I was age 8 in a movie. All four do great acting jobs. Glynis is in a role where you see her happy and full smiling face. A different role for sure than many of her film roles.

ON the back:

IT'S tough driving 1,200 sheep across 400 miles of hostile outback (Australia). But for drovers Paddy and Ida Carmody and son Sean, it's the only job there is. Poor in possessions, they're rich in freedom, adventure and love.

Four time Academy Award winner Fred Zinnermann directs this warm-hearted tale of 1920 Australia.
..........

The movie was shot in Australia. You see some great scenery, and animals and birds of that country. It's
a family movie for children I would say 9 and older. It's taken from a book written about what would and could have been in the family life of "sundowners" - that moved with the sun, drovers working with sheep.

YES an interesting movie, on the life of such people in the drover world of the sheep worker as in Australia in 1920.

NEW ONE:

"The Last Song" - Touchtone Pictures - Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth and Greg Kinnear.

On the back:

Miley Cyrus shines as the star of this heartwarming coming-of-age movie that will strike emotional chords. The Last Song follows Ronnie (Cyrus) and her estranged father as he tries to restore the loving relationship they once had. But reconnecting with his rebellious daughter isn't easy, so he chooses the one thing they still have in common - music.
...........

It is one of those tear moving movies, so if you are like me have the kleenex close at hand. Again a great family movie for children I would say 9 years and older, but mature 7 and 8 year olds would follow it and like it.
...........

SO TWO FINE MOVIES FOR YOUR HOME LIBRARY.
...........

New Movies Out:  Not much as of the last month worth mentioning. "Thor" was an okay science-fiction type movie, but Jonny Depp and the 4th of the "Pirates" series......went to see it, and was NOT impressed. It's time to bury that Pirate six feet under and sail away from any more being done with that series - time to sink it to the bottom of the deep blue sea.
