I did talk about it when it first came out in the Movie Theaters a year or so ago, yes released in 2011.
But need to mention it again, as I've just bought the DVD and viewed it once more.
It is a fictional story set back in the 1950s through to the assassination and past of JFK in 1963.
It is the story of black maids for white "rich" families, and centers around the women on both sides - the black and white women.
It gives the bad, good, and ugly, of the shameful history of racism in the USA back in those times.
It is a movie that should be a "must see" - part of a history class, in every High School in the USA.
It is a must see movie for all Christian families. It is rated as PG-13. And I would say that is correct, for those 13 years of age and older.
On the back cover we read:
"The HELP, is an inspirational, courageous and empowering story about very different, extraordinary women in the 1960s South who built an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project - one that breaks society's rules and puts them all at risk. Filled with poignancy, humor and hope - and complete with compelling never-before-seen bonus features - 'The HELP' is a timeless, universal and triumphant story about the ability to create change."
All the main actors are just superb. The movie is based on the #1 New York Times best seller by Kathryn Stockett.
YES, a must see for anyone 13 years and older.
