So most of you know by now that Lance Armstrong - the winner of 7 in a row Tour de France cycling championships, was indeed drugging himself.
It FINALLY all came out after years of "suspicion" and denial after denial from Lance Armstrong. The whole sordid jigsaw puzzle and huge behind the scenes playing at the "secret" doping game, came out in full bloom..... yes finally those who had said it was going on BIG TIME in the Armstrong camp, were vindicated and proved they were not the liars, but it was Armstrong who was the liar.
Welllll..... the Canadian CBC program "The Fifth Estate" on Friday evening November 23rd had a full "investigative" documentary on the hidden doping life and master of spin.... Lance Armstrong. If your interested in seeing it go to: cbc.ca/fifth
Now doping and lying about it, covering it up, making yourself out to be something "GREAT" - putting a personification of glory about yourself, and/or having others putting out that "glory" and "great" persona of yourself is not new.
We Canadians had our guy - wonder fellow - of the 100 meter sprint.... winning the gold medal at the Olympics even ..... Ben Johnson was his name. Yes he lied and denied it all, but the evidence was clear.... he was doping himself.
Then the USA had the Olympic 5 medal champion gal...... Marion Jones. She also denied it and denied it. But her self made glory finally came crashing down. The evidence proved she was a false "great" - but I do remember her on TV finally with tears, admitting her greatness was only great because she had been doping herself. At least she repented of leading so many into a false idealism of herself. I understand from what I've just read on the Internet about her, she did go on to be a pro basketball player.
So we had ONE Armstrong on the bike, leading people off into following his glory train, only to be found out in the end that his last days in the light of the world were not so glorious.
TO BE HONEST ABOUT ARMSTRONG AND DOPING IN THE CYCLING WORLD, HE WAS ONLY ONE OF MANY. AS ONE CYCLISTS INTERVIEWED SAID, HE SOON FOUND OUT IT WAS ABOUT 80 PERCENT IN THE CYCLING WORLD THAT WERE DOPING THEMSELVES. A CORRUPT SPORT, ABOUT AS CORRUPT AS YOU CAN GET!!
There was another ARMSTRONG .... a while back now; all of you say under 35 years of age, will know nothing about him (unless you've already been told or read about him). He was not a sports "star" but a religious "star" - his full name being Herbert W. Armstrong. Oh he started out humble enough and small enough that he did not have very much to boast about. But he got on radio stations, more and more in the 1950s and into the 1960s. By the time I heard him, he was on dozens of radio stations all over North America, and finally all over the world, well a good part of it anyway. And finally into the 1970s and 1980s on TV. His magazine "The Plain Truth" at one time was on just about every corner of the street in towns all over North America.
I remember seeing him, think it was the year of 1964. He was humble back then, heard him say he was just an instrument in God's hands, and should not be clapped before or after giving a sermon. But after his wife died in 1967 all the humility began to disappear, actually quite fast. Like the first Armstrong I talked about, he also had his inner circle, who pampered him, began saying he was something great. And so his drug of choice was "vanity" and "ego" - his work he started back in the middle 1930s was now becoming "worldwide" - he even changed the name of his church from "The Radio Church of God" to "The Worldwide Church of God." The doping drug of vanity and greatness went to his head, with the help of his inner circle of men pushing it all along, and soon he was calling himself "God's Apostle" and some in his organization went so far as to say he was the prophesied "Elijah to come" of Malachi chapter 4. He went off the tracks into the false drug of false "church government" and hence into other false ideas and teachings. If anyone - minister or not, said anything negative about him or his organization, they were cast out - like a dirty old rag - it was another false teaching of "church disfellowshipping" he and his clones had adopted and were very eager to use on anyone who did not "toe-the-line." The truth of the subject of "church disfellowshipping" is on my website, as is the truth of "church government."
There is something in some minds of people that Satan can get a hold of and really "do a number" on them - it's the vanity and self-glorification that a person gets drugged on - doped on. And everything else takes second place or no place at all. They really do think they are someone GREAT - someone the world should "look to" as IMPORTANT - SPECIAL!! And with that comes the attitude of "I'm above all law" - "I can do anything, say anything" - "people have to believe what I say" for to them, in their mind, they are what they say they are. They can lie, because to them it's not a lie, because the world needs them, they are GREAT, they have done this or that "good thing" - Lance Armstrong founded an organization to fight cancer. Herbert W. Armstrong founded an organization that had a number of the truths of the Bible. Both men got blinded by their vanity and proudness, and the ego that others said about them, making it all in their mind true that they were right and the nay-sayers were wrong.
Some get caught up in how Satan can deceive them by twisting their mind into the vanity of greatness, so all that they do is the right way to do it; some of those people, have a very hard time to admit the truth to themselves, and just about impossible to admit it to others. Herbert Armstrong went to his death not admitting his false teachings he drugged himself on after 1967. Lance Armstrong also may never openly admit his falsehoods and lies to the public. I will give Marion Jones credit for repenting with tears and admitting her sins of sport drugging to the world.
Before Herbert Armstrong died, I by accident [well probably God wanted me to see it] I was flicking through TV channels and hit upon Armstrong preaching. And then his TV program showed a chart..... it was showing the order of heaven..... God the Father at the top, Jesus the Christ under the Father, THEN Herbert Armstrong under Jesus Christ..... you talk about the vanity and deception Satan had Armstrong and his church in ..... that chart showed the depth of it all.
After Herbert Armstrong died, his "church empire" disintegrated [which it needed to do] - many of his top men went back into the world or off into other false cults and ideologies. Some just became individual Christians belonging to no organization. Many of them have also hit the dust in death. Some are in other Sabbath church organizations, never yet admitting they followed in the end a man that turned his church into a cult. I guess it will take the death of those guys before the Church of God can move into a new age of freedom from the minds of those ministers who sadly blinded their minds and the minds of thousands who have followed them since the death of HWA. Many of the people I personally knew in the 1960s sadly went back into the world and gave up on God and the Bible completely - as it is written; the dog turns to its vomit again. And also as it is written - would have been better for them to have never know the word of truth, than having known it, to turn from it. Herbert Armstrong did have the basic truths of God correct, at one time. But as the New Testament clearly shows, it's not how you start [we all start with a small amount of truth] but it is how you grow and move in the present and how you finish the race that counts. A race NOT built upon being drugged on anything that in the end dashes you upon the rocks of self deception and lies and destruction, and false theology.
THE TALE OF THE TWO ARMSTRONG MEN ........ MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT DECEIVED BY VANITY AND SELF-GLORIFICATION.
IT IS WRITTEN: "....TO THIS MAN WILL I LOOK, EVEN TO HIM THAT IS POOR [IN SPIRIT], AND OF A CONTRITE SPIRIT [REPENTANCE] AND TREMBLES AT MY WORD" (Isa. 66:2).
