Cover Girl movie

For you who like me, love a dance/musical.

I'd never seen it before, I bought it in the last month and just sat down to view it. It is one of the many great musical/dance movies from Gene Kelly, and with Rita Hayworth, and Phil Silvers - yes three of the old BIG stars of the silver screen, and a fine character performance by Eve Arden.

It is a 1945 Columbia color film, on the back in part it says:

"Cover Girl proved to be a turning point in the history of the Hollywood musical. For the first time, the songs were not merely strung together, but were themselves vital elements, serving to move the story forward....The technically revolutionary "Alter Ego" dance in whicvh Kelly dances with himself, provided the inspiration of his later "Singing in the Rain" number and was, according to Kelly, the most difficult film sequence he's ever done.....Cover Girl also received four other Oscar nominations for Best Score, Best Sound, Best Color Art Direction and Best Set Decoration."

And just as important to my mind is the story evolves around a true love romance in which true love does win out in the end.

A very fine musical/dance movie .... so for you like me that love such movies, you need to have this one. I got it from: moviesunlimited.com

Oh and while your at it, if you have not the musical/dance movie "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" then obtained that one also - one of the best musicals (maybe the very best) ever done - a true top of the list classic.
