FOR YOU HORSE LOVERS LIKE ME.
If you tuned in to the Rose Bowl Parade this last January 2nd 2012, you will have seen the 100 Palomino horses and then the float with ol' Trigger ..... poor ol' boy ..... what a HUGE MISTAKE the King of the Cowboys did to "mount" Trigger's (and that is where you skin your animal and pull the skin over a frame) 31 year old skin on a frame. By the time Trigger was 31 there was little mane or tail or forelock left on him.
I was at the Roy Rogers Museum two months before it closed in Branson. I saw the shameful terrible looking horse that was supposed to be Trigger. There is no fan anywhere greater than I of Roy Rogers and Trigger. I have all Roy's movies and working on getting all of the TV series. I have known what the fabulous Trigger (the original one) looked like since of boy of 7 years old. I can tell you the "mounted" Trigger is a sham and a DISGRACE to one of the greatest horses to ever walk on this good green earth. Roy's eyes or mind was way off beam when he decided to have Trigger mounted after the horse died at age 31.
If you want to see the real true beautiful Trigger then get Roy's movies: "Trigger Jr."(color) - "The Golden Stallion"(color) and "My Pal Trigger"(black and white) and then the TV series. You can get them from moviesunlimited.com or amazon.com
If the people who bought the mounted Trigger ever come to your neck of the woods, do yourself a favor - DO NOT GO to see the mounted Trigger - it is a shameful exhibit of what was left of a 31 year old horse.
