ECONOMICS anyone

THE  WORLD  ECONOMIC  FORUM  MEETS  IN  DAVOS,  SWITZERLAND.

They will be trying to see how all can go forward in the positive; does not look the rosiest with Europe still in a mess in various ways economically and unemployment high in certain of its countries.
Now add to that all the uncertainty of the USA, it's massive debt, much of its "fiscal cliff" still to sort out, and millions with no jobs.
Put into that pot the now talk about a referendum for the British  somewhere between 2015 and 2018, to see if the British population want to stay a part of Europe. And add to that the referendum in Scotland, I guess to see if the Scots want to stay with London, or become another South Ireland.
Stir it all up with North Korea saying it will go ahead with more "rocket" launchings, the unstable Middle-East, the war in Mali, civil war in Syria.......and  the world economic forum has its work cut out.

OIL..... WAS HUGE MONEY FOR CANADA

I live in Alberta, the oil capital of Canada. We have the famous or infamous (depends how you view it) "oil sands" and now spreading over into our neighbor Province - Saskatchewan..... was BIG MONEY!!
I had no idea HOW big a money, until this last week, when it was announced our oil demand to the USA was down (they have discovered more of their own oil in their own soil) and with no other country we ship it to..... well the LOSS in money is said to be for us Albertans --  75 MILLION DOLLARS PER DAY!!  YES THAT IS PER DAY..... that blows me away! Now maybe that 75 million dollars per day is the loss for the Canadian economy, and not just Alberta, but either way it is still a HUGE amount of money. Our Province (State to you in the USA) governor is soon going to address Albertans on the consequences of this loss and what it means to Alberta in how we move forward for the rest of the year, and maybe more than just this year.

STARBUCKS COFFEE DOING WELL

Starbucks the largest coffee chain in the world - 18 thousand coffee shops around the world, well they are doing pretty good it seems in the overall of the world economics. Moving into "tea" for eat drinkers,
and making enough profit to plan on opening up 1,300 more Starbucks around the world.

APPLE.....HOLDING,  BUT.....

The Steve Jobbs empire, well it's holding, some might say treading water, still very good sales of its iPhone5 and iPad. But Samsung is shaking some ground, and moving very nicely, and looking like it is going to give Apple a run for its money. The Canadian company Blackberry is going to make one last big effort to stay in the game with Apple and Samsung. How do you keep inventing more and more for these iPhones and iPads ..... but I guess they will do their best to try. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the next few years, unless all three can share the pie, with those tech things evcry- one seems to have.
