ADULTERY / FORNICATION # 1

Adultery is sexual relations when married with someone other than your mate

Fornication is sexual relations with someone when NOT married - being single.

Gen. 20:3. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and

said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman

which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

2 Sam. 12:14. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great

occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also

that is born unto thee shall surely die.

(King David had committed adultery with Bathsheba)

Job 24:15. The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight,

saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth her face. 16. In the

dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for

themselves in the daytime: they know not the light. 17. For the

morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know

them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death,   v. 18.

Job 31:1. I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I

think upon a maid. 9. If mine heart have been deceived by a

woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door; 10. Then let

my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

 11. For this is a heinous crime; yet it is an iniquity to be punished

by the judges. 12. For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction,

and would root out all mine increase.

Prov. 2:16. To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from

the stranger which flattereth with her words: 18. Her house in-

clineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. 19. None that go

unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

Prov 5:3. The lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb,

and her mouth is smoother than oil: 4. But her end is bitter as

wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. vs. 5-22.

Prov. 6:24.  To keep thee from the evil of the strange woman

25. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take

thee with her eyelids. 26. For by means of a whorish woman a

man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt

for the precious life. 27. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and

his clothes not be burned? 28. Can one go upon hot coals, and

his feet not be burned? 29. So he that goeth in to his neighbour's

wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent. 32. But

whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding:

he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. 33. A wound and

dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped

 away.

Prov. 7:5. That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from

the stranger which flattereth with her words. 6. For at the

window of my house I looked through my casement, 7. And

beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a

young man void of understanding, 8. Passing through the street

near her corner; and he went the way to her house, 9. In the

twilight, in the evening; in the black and dark night: 10. And,

behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and

subtle of, heart. 11. (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not

in her house: 12. Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth

in wait at every corner.) 13. So she caught him, and kissed him,

and with an impudent face said unto him, 14. I have peace

offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows. 15. Therefore

came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have

found thee. 16. I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry,

with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. 17. I have perfumed

my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. 18. Come, let us take

our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with

loves. 19. For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long

journey: 20. He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will

come home at the day appointed. 21. With her much fair speech

she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced

him. 22. He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the

slaughter, or as a fool to the_ correction of the stocks; 23. Till a

dart strike through his liver: as a bird hasteth to the snare, and

knoweth not that it is for his life.

Prov. 9:13. A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and

knoweth nothing. 14. For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a

seat in the high places of the city, 15. To call passengers who go

right on their ways: 16. Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither:

and as for him that wanteth understanding, she catches  him,

 17. Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

 18. But he knoweth not that the dead are there: and that her

guests are in the depths of hell.

Prov. 22:14. The mouth of strange women is a deep pit:

he that is abhorred of the Lord shall fall therein.

Prov. 23:27. For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is

a narrow pit. 28. She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increased

 the transgressors among men.

Prov. 29:3. He that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his

substance.

Prov. 30: 20. Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth,

and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

Prov. 31:3. Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that

 which destroyeth kings.

Isa. 57:3. But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed

of the adulterer and the whore. 4. Against whom do ye sport

yourselves, against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out

the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of

 falsehood.

Jer. 3:1. If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and

become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not

 that land be greatly polluted?

Jer. 5:7. How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have

forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed

them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled

themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. 8. They were as fed

horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's

 wife.

Jer. 7:9. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear

falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods

whom ye know not; 10. And come and stand before me in this

house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to

 do all these abominations?

Jer. 23:10. The land is full of adulterers.

Ezek. 18:5. But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and

right, 6. And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath

lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath

defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstru-

ous woman, 9.  He is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord

 God.

Hos. 4:1 The Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the

land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God

in the land. 2. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing,

and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth

blood. 11. Whoredom, and wine, and new wine, take away the

 heart.

Matt. 5:28. Whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath

committed adultery with her already in his heart. 32. Whosoever

shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication,

causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry

 her that is  divorced   committeth  adultery.   Mark 10:11,12;

 Luke 18:18.

Matt. 15:19. Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, adulteries,

 fornications, Mark 7:21.

Matt. 19.9. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his

wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another,

committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away

 doth commit adultery.    Mark 10:11.

adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness,

Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. Jas.2:ll.

Acts 15:20. We write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions

of idols, and from fornication, v. 29.

Rom. 1:28. As they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,

God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things

which are not convenient; 29. Being filled with unrighteousness,

fornication, wickedness, covetousness, 32. Who, knowing

the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are

Worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in  them

that do them.

Rom. 7:3. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to

another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband

be dead, she is free from that law so that she is no adulteress,

though she be married to another man.

(THIS IS ALSO FULLY EXPLAINED IN MY STUDY

1 Cor. 5:9. I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with

fornicators: 10. Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this

world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters: for

then must ye needs go out of the world.

1 Cor. 6:15. Know ye not that your bodies; are the members of

Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them

the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16. What? know ye not that

he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he,

shall be one flesh. 18. Flee fornication. Every sin that

a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth

fornication sinneth against his own body.

Cor. 10:8. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them

committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

2 Cor. 12:21. And less, when I come again, my God will humble

me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned

already, and have not repented of the un-cleanness and

fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

Gal. 5:19. The works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 21. Of the

which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that

they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Tim. 1:9. Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous

man, but ... 10. For whoremongers, for them that defile

themselves with mankind, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured

persons, and if there he any other thing that is contrary to sound

 doctrine.

2 Tim. 3:6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and

lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers

 lusts.

1 Pet. 4:3. The time past of our life may suffice us to have

wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in

lasciviousness, lusts,.... 4. Wherein they think it strange that ye

run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of

you.

Pet. 2:9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of

temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment

to be punished: 10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in

the lust of uncleanness. 14. Having eyes full of adultery, and

that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls.

Jude 7. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them

in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going

after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the

 vengeance of eternal fire.

Rev. 2:20. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee,

because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel . . . to teach and to

seduce my servants to commit fornication,... 21. And I gave her

space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22.

Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery

with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Rev. 9:21. Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their

 sorceries, nor of their forniocation.
