Forever Young...and K2!

Interesting facts from the book "Forever Young" by Dr. NIcholas Perricone.

It has been known for a long time vitamin K is the blood clotting vitamin. But now there is science on vitamin K2 that is very important.

Vitamin K is said to now be important for calcium balance, a key mineral in bone metabolism and bone health. Vitamin K2 in many ways is just or more important than K1.  It stays in the body longer than K1.

A Dr. Sinatra has seen outstanding progress in his patients taking the MK-7 (menaquinone-7) type of vitamin K2, which offer the following benefits:

* Provides the most active and bioavailable form of vitamin k2, MK-7.
* Helps reduce the level of calcium in the blood stream.
* Supports cardiovascular health.
* Helps strengthen bones.
* Aids in calcium absorption by bones.
* Helps increase bone density.

As Perricone goes on to say, this is a vitamin linked to bone and heart health.

He goes on to say he is fascinated in the link between arteries and bone. He says we have known that one of the biggest tragedies of aging is osteoporosis, which predisposes us to weakness, frailty, and dangerous bone fractures. In all of this the calcium that belongs in the bones is transferred to atrerial walls, which in turn leads to cardiovascular disease and more. Adequate intake of vitamin K2 can stop this from occurring.

Then he goes on to say that it is breast cancer that puts the fear of death into women, but the fact is that women have a far greater chance of dying of heart disease. Vitamin K2 can greatly reduce your odds of heart problems leading to death.

He give a chart in his book, quite revealing, even shocking to most people who have never been given or see or read the real facts of the matter.

According to the American Heart Association, he says, nearly 37 percent of all female deaths in America occur from cardiovascular disease.

Perricone shows one of the easiest ways to make sure you are getting vitamin K2 is .... eat CHEESE!

Apparently milk does no contain K2, but milk turning into cheese does some chemical whatever, and binjo....vitamin K2 is then in cheese.

I  PERSONALLY  NOW  HAVE  ADDED  A  VITAMIN K2  SUPPLEMENT  TO  MY  ALREADY  DOZEN  OR  SO  SUPPLEMENTS.  MAKE  SURE  IT  IS  THE  MK-7  K2.

WHY  DO  I  TAKE  SO  MANY  VITAMIN  SUPPLEMENTS?

OVER  THE  YEARS  MY  BODY  METABOLISM  HAS  CHANGED.  AT  NEARLY  71  I  JUST  CANNOT  EAT  CERTAIN  THINGS,  FOR  SO  DOING  (COULD BE AS ORGANIC AS PERFECT) I  GAIN  WEIGHT.  I  SIMPLY  CANNOT  EAT  AS  MUCH  AND  WHAT  AS     I  ONCE  COULD,  HENCE  I  TAKE  VITAMIN  SUPPLEMENTS  OF  ALL  KINDS,  THAT  I  AT  ONE  TIME  RECEIVED  IN  THE  FOODS  I  ATE.  YOU  MAY  NOT  B E  THAT  WAY.  HENCE  YOU  MAY  NOT  HAVE  TO  TAKE  MANY  SUPPLEMENTS,  AND  IF  EATING  ORGANIC  BALANCED  MEALS,  MAYBE  NO  SUPPLEMENTS  AT  ALL.

WELL  IN  ANY  CASE  MAKE  SURE  YOU  ARE  GETTING  K2  IN  YOUR  DIET,  FOR  YOUR  BONE  AND  HEART  HEALTH.
