The WORLD today!

Today  is  January  28th.

The war in Mali.....the French have taken Timbuktu without firing a shot. It would seem the fanatical group has fled. Maybe for now the war is over, for how long remains the big question.

Egypt is facing more unrest from a good portion of its people who are against the present power in control....Egypt is then far from being a stable country to head up the end time "king of the south." It could be years before it gains stability.

In Australia we have the demonstration of how crazy the weather can be today. Queensland is under floods, serious flooding; and the flooding now extends into New South Wales which till recently was under fires with temperatures being the hottest on record.

The USA has been getting a blast from the Arctic that has caused vehicle crashes and death, on such a wide scale it is hard to believe.

Greece says it is out of financial trouble in the main, after bringing in austerity cuts, time will tell.

An Italian bank is under hot fire for corrupt dealings, so we'll see where all that leads and what can of worms it opens up.

Spain has had a bad olive harvest and says the price of olive oil may go up as much as 40 percent. Spain is the world's largest producer of olive oil.

Apple is no longer the number one company to be looked at; some wonder if anyone in Apple can muster up the visionary mind that Steve Jobbs had...... kinda hard shoes to fill, in a visionary sense Jobbs was a genius.

North Korea says it will march on with rocket launching and Nuclear bomb testing, no matter what nations of the world have to say or do about it. No need to be worries.....North Korea has no part in Bible prophecy, except maybe at the very end of this age, into the "day of the Lord" when maybe North Korea could be a part of the kings of the East coming against the Beast/Babylon power of Europe - Revelation 16:12.

The civil war in Syria keeps going......I wonder if there will be ANY building left in one piece by the time it is all over.

Have not heard much about Haiti in the last year; still building back from the earthquake that hit them a few years ago or so. I guess they must be having the help they need from all the charity organizations, and most are surviving; obviously as they knew, it will take years to build it back, hopefully with much stronger buildings, especially done in a way to withstand earthquakes.

Bill Gates (Windows/Microsoft fame) was on TV tonight claiming (with his billions of dollars to help) that polio will in the next 3 to 5 years be history, gone forever....again time will tell.

The Night-Club fire in a town in South Brazil that took 200 or so lives; did not have a sprinkler system, and only ONE way out.......  that just blows me away,  in the 21st century,  a nation that will be hosting the next summer Olympics, and they as a Government did not have laws in place for two exists and a sprinkler system.... I shake my head, unbelievable. I should think now they will see the light and get up to date. The pain, grief, heartache, must be horrible for that community.
